~ With Aiden ~

In a short moment, Aiden, Shroud, and Aceu had already converged at the camp located 3,000 metres away from the frontline outpost. In addition to the trio, four other teams had also joined, apparently watching their live broadcast and happened to be matched in the same game and faction.

"Aiden, aren't we going to the front to hit point A?" Aceu asked, his usual gameplay strategy leaning towards aggression.

"It's too difficult to directly hit the front." Aiden replied, shaking his head. "Our troops are divided into two areas. If our soldiers die, the resurrection points are too far away. The German soldiers can revive directly at either locations, giving them a huge advantage over us.

"So, I think that we should take an approach that they would never expect. We go around to the high ground here," He continued, pointing out the area on the map, "and capture this small stronghold. As long as we can take it, the rest of our Allied soldiers can respawn directly there."

The map of the entire Somme had showed a terrain similar to a crescent moon. The first large active battlefield was divided into two locations. The frontline of the sentry tower of Location A was situated in the middle, with the upper half in the hill and forests, serving as the artillery position.

Currently, the main force of the Allied soldiers was concentrated in the centre of the battle at Location A, resulting in the meat grinder-like situation. However, there weren't many teams in the surrounding areas of the hill and forest area.

It was also unrealistic to command everyone in a large battlefield with thousands of active players. But, if they could secure the small stronghold on the hill, it would allow the dead Allied soldiers to respawn there, effectively gathering most of their troops together and closer to the objective, making it easier to work together to capture the objective.

"I see. . . That could work. The success or failure of this battle is in our hands! And should we succeed, it could lead to a victorious outcome in the war by the end!" Aceu spoke, his voice filled with mock drama. Looking around, he was met with the look of confusion from his comrades.

"Think about it. If we fail to take this stronghold, then the German side are going to know that we've targeted it. I am sure they would send reinforcements to defend it, making any subsequent attempts harder than it should have been. And without this stronghold, our Allied numbers are just going to keep dwindling, causing us to lose the war entirely.

And if there's a sequel match, if we don't win the war, then there would be no Treaty, and Germany's economy and military would develop further on a massive scale. It could literally change the premise of World War II!" He concluded in a louder tone, clearly excited at the prospects of his theories.

"Alright, alright. Calm down there, Ace." Shroud chuckled. "You're getting way ahead of yourself."

"Yeah, even though the game's been pretty surprising and amazing thus far, let's try to keep the situation real, yeah?" Aiden added quickly, not wanting Aceu's theatrics to derail their focus.

"Okay, Aiden, you're in charge here. How should we proceed?" XQCade asked.

Aiden nodded his head before giving out his commands. "First, we go through this forest. If we encounter any enemy soldiers and squads, the scouts will fire signal flares to mark them on the map for us."

Signal flares were the unique feature of the Scout class. It could mark enemy troops in a small area on the minimap, but it would also alert the enemies to their presence. Aiden then continued to give out his orders, and by the end of it he blew his whistle to signal the group to push forward.

The stronghold on the hill was surrounded by trees, providing ample cover. There were also German barbed wire barriers placed at some sections of the forest. But instead of fighting from the front, Aiden led them towards a hidden path in the depths of the woods. It was a longer route, but according to the map, it would allow them to flank the enemy's stronghold from the rear.

'Wouldn't it be perfect to hit the enemy where they least expect it?' Aiden thought, glancing at the group following behind him.

As they neared the stronghold, Aiden decided to give one last briefing before they begun their assault in earnest. "I need two scout volunteers. It's going to be dangerous, but the two of you will be going ahead close to the front of the stronghold. You don't have to engage directly, using your flares are enough.

Find an elevated position and use your flares, it will help us to mark the targets while also distracting them from our assault at the back. If possible, take some shots towards the front too so that they would believe that the front of the stronghold is being attacked, and would focus their defences there.

Cade, your team composition has the strongest combat power among the rest of us. You take point in our siege, focus on taking down fortifications, but ensure you leave at least a squad member behind at all times so if any of you dies, you can respawn on that soldier."

Seeing that Aiden was giving out detailed roles for the attack, Aceu, unable to contain his excitement, spoke up. "What about me? What do I get to do?"

"Ace, your task is the most critical of all." Aiden replied, a serious look etched on his face. "You've got the best mechanical skills among all of us. Ironically, you are literally our Ace in the Hole. Just do what you do best and mow these German suckers down like it's just another Tuesday."

"HELL YEAH! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" Aceu exclaimed. "Time to rack up my KDA!"
