Chapter 271: Lilith vs Trolls
As Lilith stepped onto the seventh floor, she was immediately struck by a stark contrast to the cold beauty of the sixth. The environment was dark and foreboding, with jagged rock formations jutting out from the ground and a dim, flickering light that barely illuminated the area. The air was thick with humidity, and an unsettling silence enveloped her, a stark reminder that danger lurked just beyond the shadows.
She took a moment to gather her thoughts, her amber eyes scanning the landscape for any sign of movement. The ground beneath her feet was uneven, making each step feel precarious. She could sense the presence of enemies nearby, and her heart raced with anticipation. Having conquered the previous floors with determination, she felt ready to face whatever awaited her here.
Suddenly, the stillness was shattered by a low growl that echoed through the cavern. Lilith's instincts kicked in, and she quickly drew her sword, the blade gleaming in the dim light. From the shadows emerged a group of enormous blue trolls, their skin a deep cerulean hue, each one towering over her with muscular builds and wickedly sharp claws. Their yellow eyes glinted with malice, and they moved with surprising agility for their size.
"Great," Lilith muttered under her breath, steeling herself for the fight ahead. She knew from her observations that these trolls were not to be underestimated. They were fierce and relentless, and she would need to employ every ounce of strategy and skill she possessed.
As the first troll charged at her, Lilith activated her Wind abilities, summoning a powerful gust that whipped through the air. The force of the wind threw the creature off balance, causing it to stumble. Seizing the opportunity, she lunged forward, swinging her sword with precision. The blade bit into the troll's side, drawing a roar of pain from the creature.
But the fight was far from over. The other trolls quickly regrouped, their growls echoing ominously as they charged in unison. Lilith knew she had to keep moving; standing still would only make her an easy target. She ducked low, rolling to the side as one of the trolls swung its massive club, narrowly avoiding the deadly strike.
Making use of her Space element. In an instant, she teleported behind the nearest troll, delivering a swift strike to its back. The creature howled in pain, spinning around to face her just as she vanished again, reappearing on the other side of the clearing.
The trolls were beginning to coordinate their attacks, and she could see the strategy forming in their minds. Two of them moved to flank her while the others charged straight on. Lilith gritted her teeth, feeling the pressure of their combined strength. She needed to turn the tide in her favor.
With a determined focus, she summoned a vortex of wind around her. The air crackled with energy as she unleashed a powerful gust that knocked the charging trolls off their feet. They tumbled to the ground, giving her a brief moment to breathe and reassess her strategy.
She could sense their frustration, and she relished it. This was her chance to prove her strength.
As the trolls rose, she charged at the nearest one, striking with her sword in a flurry of blows. Each swing was enhanced by the wind, making her strikes faster and more powerful. The troll let out a series of roars as she landed blow after blow, her movements fluid and precise.
But just as she felt she was gaining the upper hand, one of the larger trolls swung its club with incredible force, aiming for her head. Lilith barely managed to duck, feeling the rush of air as the club passed just above her. The impact sent a shockwave through the ground, and she stumbled slightly.
Now was not the time to hesitate. With a swift motion, she activated her Hellfire ability, summoning black flames that enveloped her sword. The heat radiated around her, and she felt a surge of power as she charged back into the fray. The trolls hesitated, momentarily taken aback by the sudden burst of energy.
She attacked, swinging her flaming sword at the nearest troll. The flames ignited the creature's fur as she struck, and it howled in agony, staggering back. Lilith didn't stop; she moved from one troll to the next, her blade leaving trails of fire in its wake.
The remaining trolls began to panic, their roars growing more frantic as they struggled to regroup. Lilith took advantage of their disarray, teleporting behind one of the trolls and delivering a powerful strike that sent it crashing to the ground. The creature's weight shook the ground beneath her, but she was already moving, not giving them a moment to recover.
As she fought, the trolls attempted to flank her again, but Lilith was ready. She activated a burst of Wind, creating a barrier that pushed them back. The wind howled around her, and she could feel her energy rising. She was in a rhythm now, flowing with the elements and using them to enhance her movements.
With a final surge of determination, she focused her energy into one powerful strike. Channeling her Wind and Space elements together, she created a dual vortex that spiraled around her sword.
"Tempest Slash!" she cried, unleashing the attack as she charged forward.
The winds roared as she struck the lead troll, the combined forces of wind and space tearing through its defenses. The creature let out a final, agonized roar as it was lifted off its feet, the vortex consuming it before it collapsed into the snow, defeated.
With the lead troll down, the remaining trolls hesitated, their confidence shattered. Lilith could see the fear in their eyes, and she pressed the advantage.
"You want to fight? Then come at me!" she taunted, raising her sword high.
In a desperate attempt to regain control, the remaining trolls charged at her, but Lilith was ready. She unleashed a flurry of strikes, each one imbued with the power of the elements. The trolls fell one by one, their growls turning to whimpers as they succumbed to her relentless onslaught.
Finally, as the last troll fell, Lilith stood amidst the chaos, breathing heavily but victorious. The ground was littered with the remnants of the battle, and the air was thick with the scent of smoke and burnt flesh. She wiped the sweat from her brow, feeling a mix of exhaustion and satisfaction.
As she caught her breath, Lilith glanced around at the battlefield, the cold air stinging her cheeks but invigorating her spirit. She had conquered the seventh floor, and with each victory, she felt herself growing stronger.
