Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 2552: The Dilemma

"Have you decided to kill a junior, Weapons God?" Grimsight asked.

The young man stood a short distance away from the four of them with his hands clasped behind his back.

"Stand down, Spearheaven. I have not yet made the decision to kill him. I would like to find out for myself what it is that makes him such a threat that even Starsight herself feels it right to name him the Destroyer."

Grimsight frowned and looked back at Alex. He seemed too scared to talk at the moment.

"You might have to wait a while for that," Grimsight said. "He is in no situation to talk."

The Weapons God nodded. "I understand. But I must warn you that the others may not be so patient against a threat to their entire world."

Grimsight turned around and blocked an attack just as it arrived. The attack was a large spray of water that pushed against Grimsight's defense. After a while, the water all returned to where it came from—a bronze gourd in the hands of the Artifact God.

The woman stepped forward, placing the gourd back into her Soul Space and pulling out a small dagger.

She let the dagger fly in front of her, which cloned itself into a thousand different ones, all striking down at where Grimsight stood.

Grimsight gripped his golden spear as tightly as he could and stabbed before him multiple times, employing one of his techniques.

The Five Heavenly Forms of Spear - First Form: Thousand Spears Pierce the Heaven

Pearl watched in shock as more than a thousand different spear attacks formed in a split second and flew toward the many daggers, destroying each one with rather ease.

Even the Artifact God herself was a little shocked by Grimsight's performance. She had not imagined that the man, who appeared to have one leg in the grave already, was able to bring out so much power.

"Why do you protect him, Brother Spearheaven?" she asked. "He will kill us all."

"You don't know that, Your Majesty," Grimsight said. "Prophecies are never true until they are. And for every divination that comes true, there are a thousand others that are forgotten. You cannot take that as the truth."

"The Fatekeepers are never wrong, and Starsight among them wouldn't say what she did without reason," the Artifact God spoke. "Can you not see the truth here?"

"What I see are people willing to judge a young man for a crime he did not commit. For a crime that someone else says he will commit. I do not know whether or not the future Senior Starsight speaks of will come true, but I do know one thing."

"I know there is no malice in this young man's heart. Therefore, there is something wrong with the prophecy. Maybe Senior Starsight is incorrect today. There is a first time for everything."

"It is unlikely," someone else spoke.

The Beast God sat on her flaming horse as she made her way toward Grimsight. "Even if it is as you say and the leader of the Fatekeepers is indeed incorrect for the first time in her life, would you take that chance?"

"Between the fate of the world and someone who may be innocent, who will you save, Spearheaven?"

Grimsight stared at the older woman who had appeared. "I have stood where you stand, Soulmother. I too have judged the innocent for the mere crimes of their existence. You may end up creating an Inner Demon you can never vanquish."

The Beast God raised her eyebrows. "Is that what happened to you?" she asked.

Grimsight didn't answer.

The Beast God felt she was on the right track. "You were on your way to becoming a Celestial, and yet even after 200,000 years, you remain a Divinity, Spearheaven. What happened to you?"

"It is but a choice I made when faced with my own sins. You do not need to understand it, nor will I explain it to you any further," Grimsight said. "Soulmother, if you too choose to kill this innocent young man, then I will stand before you too."

The Beast God shook her head. "You are not the only one who has had the misfortune of killing innocents, Spearheaven. You forget, I too was a major fighter in the war. And yet, we still had to do what we had to. Innocent or not, sometimes death is the only path ahead."

"You show no remorse for your sins, Soulmother. We have nothing else to talk about. Come then. Let us fight."

The Beast God sighed. "Since it has come to this, then let us," she said.

Behind her, a large serpent appeared, its back covered in obsidian spurs. To her side appeared a massive ape with a flowing black mane and red fur that covered most of its body. To her right appeared a white feline beast, like a mix between a panther and a puma.

The bees covering her body suddenly flew out in droves, creating a beast formation in the air above her. They buzzed in a weird pattern.

Along with the flaming horse that she sat on, each one of the beasts had a cultivation base high in the Divine realm. They were truly worthy of being the beasts of the Beast God.

The Artifact God saw the beasts and nodded in appreciation. She lifted her hand to the side, and a crystalline hammer nearly as large as her appeared in her hands. It was her Creation.

"Since you wish to fight us, Spearheaven, we will indulge you," the Artifact God said and prepared to attack.

Just as the two were ready to fight, the Artifact God turned around suddenly and struck at something that came from behind them. The force of the attack she had blocked was quite strong, but she managed to do it.

When she finally stopped it, a single red arrow fell to the ground after losing all of its energy.

"Come on now," Killshot spoke as she approached them. "You three can't have all the fun by yourselves."
