Chapter 2: Change
Veldora eagerly dove into Rimuru's memories, his [Thought Acceleration] operating at full power. He had already absorbed countless tales of heroic battles, cunning strategies, and fantastical worlds—but what more lay hidden beneath? What had Rimuru been so desperate to keep from his prying eyes?
As the memories unraveled, he first stumbled upon an unfamiliar story. The protagonist was not a hero but a villain—no, something far worse. A being of pure malice, a mastermind who manipulated, tortured, and crushed his enemies with overwhelming cruelty. The tale was grim, drenched in blood and despair.
"Hmm? This is quite different from the others."
Veldora's eyes gleamed with interest as he watched the dark protagonist carve his way through a world that rejected him. He built an empire from the shadows, using deceit, terror, and absolute power. The weak were trampled, and the strong were devoured. Veldora chuckled.
"Kwaaa ha ha hah! How interesting! So even humans can appreciate the power of a tyrant. Truly, a fine tale."
Veldora was no innocent child—far from it. He was a cold-blooded conqueror, the single most feared entity in all of human history within the Cardinal World. His mere existence was a nightmare to humanity. On a whim, he could wake up one day and decide to destroy a country—or even all of humanity. There had even been a time when he had nearly brought humankind to the brink of extinction, forcing Demon Lord Guy himself to intervene.
Seeing a like-minded protagonist was refreshing. It was as if he could see himself in the villain's place. The ruthless conquests, the overwhelming strength, the way the world trembled before him—it all resonated deeply with Veldora's own nature.
As for the scheming and manipulation, Veldora had always thought such tactics were beneath him, the kind of cowardly tricks weaklings used. But seeing a protagonist he admired employing them so effectively, he began to reconsider.
"Perhaps… there is something to be learned here."
With great interest, Veldora took mental notes, absorbing every calculated move and act of deception. The Storm Dragon was beginning to see strategy in a new light.
As he continued, he came across another story—this one more disturbing. A world where betrayal was the norm, and the protagonist became a monster far worse than any demon lord. Twisting people's minds, breaking their spirits, corrupting them until they became his willing servants. He indulged in pleasures that even demons might hesitate to embrace. The sheer depravity of it made Veldora pause for a moment.
"Rimuru… you were hiding this from me?"
He smirked. "I see, I see. So, my dear little slime has a taste for these kinds of stories as well… How utterly fascinating."
And then—he found the real treasure.
His [Pursuit of Truth] led him to something Rimuru had buried deep within his consciousness, something he had clearly been trying to keep locked away.
A new scene unfolded before Veldora's senses.
A man was lying on his back, and on top of him was the most gorgeous elven woman he had ever seen, riding him with sensual grace. Her hips moved with expert precision, her body glistening with sweat as she moaned in pleasure.
Veldora immediately understood what this was—reproduction or sex. As a True Dragon, he had no need for such things, so at first, he dismissed it as a waste of time.
But as he continued watching, through countless scenes, he realized something curious.
They weren't doing it for reproduction at all.
It was purely for pleasure.
"What's so fun about this…?"
Veldora pondered the question as he absorbed an overwhelming amount of porn content and dark stories buried within Rimuru's memories. He gorged himself on the knowledge laid before him.
His massive mind, enhanced a thousand times over by [Thought Acceleration], consumed page after page, scene after scene, scenario after scenario. It was a revelation.
"This is… smut?"
For a long moment, he was utterly speechless. Then, a thunderous roar of laughter erupted from within [Unlimited Imprisonment].
"Kwaaaaaaah ha ha hah! What madness! What passion! What creativity! I never imagined such things existed!"
The True Dragons had never concerned themselves with such matters. They were above such petty mortal desires.
And yet…
Why was this so entertaining?
With infinite time on his hands, Veldora eagerly explored this newfound realm of knowledge. He learned of the various "genres," the peculiar terminologies, the different "scenarios" that humans indulged in. Some were mild, some were wild, and some—
"Oh? What is this 'BDSM' Rimuru has here? Kwaaa ha ha hah! How fascinating! I had no idea humans could do that!"
The Storm Dragon's perception of human culture had expanded in ways he never could have anticipated.
For the first time in eons, he truly felt enlightened.
"This… this is art!"
Then, an idea struck him.
"I should try it out once I get out… Maybe I should ask that Hero to do it with me… Though, I doubt she's alive. Maybe I can try with others instead."
Right then and there, Veldora made a decision.
When he was freed, he would ensure that this knowledge did not go to waste.
"Just you wait, Rimuru. You can't hide your secrets from me! I shall learn everything!"
And so, the great Storm Dragon Veldora Tempest—one of the most powerful beings in the world—continued his deep and enthusiastic research, now armed with knowledge no other dragon had ever dared to seek.

.....
Three days had passed in the outside world.
For Veldora, who had been using his skill [Thought Acceleration] at full blast, it felt like several years. For normal beings, sustaining such a skill for that long would have been incredibly draining. But for a True Dragon like him, years felt like mere weeks. And besides—he was far too entertained to feel fatigued.
He had discovered the most interesting things imaginable.
Veldora, who had regarded Rimuru's memories of manga and anime as sacred texts, analyzed everything with the utmost seriousness. He had wholeheartedly absorbed the lessons within, treating them as if they held the secrets of the universe itself.
And in doing so, he had learned much.
He was introduced to the way of the villain—to the art of ruling with majesty, to the brilliance of domination rather than mere destruction. He realized that aimless rampaging was dull and pointless. Instead, he could simply rule all and bask in his own magnificence as the majestic, handsome dragon he was meant to be.
Looking back on his past self, he couldn't help but find his old ways foolish. He had wasted centuries running amok mindlessly when he could have been playing the grand game of conquest instead.
He had also taken a great interest in 'SEX'
By now, Veldora had consumed every piece of manga and anime-related memory within Rimuru's mind. However, he still could not access a significant portion of Rimuru's memories—most notably, anything related to Rimuru's appearance and life before reincarnation. That information remained mysteriously restricted to him.
But he was content. He had already learned so much.
Just as he was about to resume reading, he suddenly felt the restrictions return.
Veldora wasn't bothered. He had already read through nearly everything.
And as expected—the manga vanished.
"It seems Rimuru woke up."
Veldora muttered to himself as he turned his gaze to the screen within [Unlimited Imprisonment], watching Rimuru's point of view unfold before him.

A beautiful hobgoblin girl, barely clothed, stood quietly watching Rimuru. "So they evolved..." Veldora muttered to himself. It was no surprise—after all, Rimuru had stolen his magicules to name them.
Normally, Veldora paid little attention to anyone he considered weaker, but today he found the hobgoblin girl quite charming. "What did Rimuru name her? Haruna, was it? I should take her under my wing when I get out," he thought, his eyes drifting back to Rimuru.
Rimuru was busy giving a speech in front of the gathered evolved goblins and even a direwolf. He was laying down the foundation rules for the goblin village. Veldora, who had learned much from the sacred texts, understood how important these early rules were.
However, Veldora was surprised when Rimuru declared that the goblins were not allowed to fight humans. "Why would he set such a rule?" he wondered. Even though Rimuru had once been human, it was dumb to ask the monsters to not to fight humans when humans would always try to kill any monsters they stumble across.
To Veldora, Rimuru's decision seemed a bit naive, but he had no way to express his thoughts since he couldn't speak to Rimuru.
