Chapter 309 Status
That night, Ross and his entourage headed to the casino as planned.
"I won $50,000, Ross!" one of the girls exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Unlucky. I already lost a million," another chimed in with a dramatic sigh.
"I'm going to win all my losses back tonight!" a third declared confidently, determination written all over her face.
The girls had wildly different experiences at the tables—some walking away with big wins, others chalking up significant losses—but that was all part of the thrill.
The unpredictability of the game, the highs and lows, was what made it fun.
Ross, however, wasn't concerned about their fortunes in the slightest.
With Puppet Freddie keeping a watchful eye on them and their unique status in the multiverse, they were untouchable. Quite literally.
Not even death itself could claim their souls without Ross's permission.
If anything, their immortality only made the night's escapades all the more carefree.
As the group strolled into the grand casino, heads turned immediately.
The combination of stunning women and their larger-than-life presence was impossible to ignore.
"They're here again!" someone whispered.
"What a group of lucky girls!"
"Haven't they lost enough already?"
"Doesn't matter. They probably have more money than our entire country combined."
The staff and regular patrons couldn't help but murmur as Ross's group passed by, their presence commanding attention like a royal procession.
It wasn't just their beauty or charisma—although both were undeniable—but the reputation they had built in just two nights.
The group had a penchant for cashing in million-dollar tickets without batting an eye.
Some walked away winners, but more often than not, they lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in a single sitting.
Yet, they returned each night with the same exuberance, as if money were nothing more than paper.
Ross led the way, his confidence as unshakable as ever.
He smirked at the awed and incredulous stares, reveling in the spectacle they created wherever they went.
His harem followed closely, each woman exuding a distinct charm that only added to their mystique.
At the roulette table, one of the girls called out, "Ross, come on! This is my lucky spin!"
He chuckled, stepping closer. "Alright, let's see if your luck rubs off on me."
The dealer gave a polite nod as the chips were placed, the sound of spinning wheels and clinking chips filling the air.
Ross casually tossed down a million-dollar bet, his nonchalance drawing gasps from the surrounding onlookers.
"Is he serious?" someone murmured.
"Of course, he is. That guy doesn't even flinch."
Whether they won or lost didn't matter to Ross and his group.
For them, the casino was just another playground in a multiverse where they held all the cards.
The thrill, the attention, and the fun were all they needed to make the night unforgettable.
An hour later, the group came to a halt.
"Let's eat. All these losses are making me hungry," Ross complained, though his tone was lighthearted.
Despite losing a staggering $500 million, he didn't seem the least bit upset.
In fact, he shrugged it off as casually as if it were a minor inconvenience on a Monday morning.
Ross could have easily cheated, using his powers to tip the scales in his favor, but where was the fun in that?
Gambling was only thrilling when the stakes were real.
He knew that the longer you played, the house always had the edge.
Sure, he won big now and then, but losses were inevitable—and he accepted that without a hint of frustration.
The group made their way toward the casino's dining area, ready to indulge in some fine cuisine to recharge.
"Wow! Did you see that? He didn't even flinch after losing $500 million!" a guest whispered loudly.
"That's Ross Oakley for you. I heard he's already in the NBA," another replied, leaning closer to the table gossip.
"But he hasn't even played a single game yet! How does he have so much money? And from the looks of it, he's the one bankrolling all those women too."
"Why are you asking me? Do I look like his accountant or secretary or something?" a casino staff member retorted, shaking their head.
Ross's presence was impossible to ignore.
A gambler like him—one who casually tossed around fortunes most could only dream of—was bound to attract attention.
Whether it was admiration, curiosity, or envy, whispers followed him wherever he went.
A "whale" of his caliber was a rare sight, even in a casino filled with high rollers, and his group's glamorous aura only heightened the intrigue.
After finishing their dinner, Ross leaned back in his chair, satisfied.
The conversation around them was still buzzing, but he paid it no mind, enjoying the company of his entourage.
Just then, a man approached their table.
Handsome, sharply dressed, and exuding authority, he carried himself with the kind of confidence that only came from being in a position of power.
His tailored business suit spoke volumes about his wealth and status.
"Mr. Oakley," the man began, his voice smooth and polite, "Mr. Adams has extended an invitation for you to join him in a game of high-stakes poker. He's eager to meet you."
Ross tilted his head slightly, studying the man with a curious smirk. His women exchanged glances, clearly intrigued by the sudden proposition.
"High-stakes poker, huh?" Ross mused, his tone amused but noncommittal.
"Tell Mr. Adams I'll think about it. Right now, I'm enjoying my meal."
The man gave a courteous nod.
"Of course. I'll let him know. Should you decide to join, the private table is ready whenever you are."
With that, the man turned and walked away, leaving Ross and his group to deliberate.
One of the girls leaned in closer to Ross, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Are we going to take his offer? You know it sounds like fun."
Ross chuckled, swirling his drink lazily.
"We'll see. Let's finish up here first. No rush—after all, the night's still young." Ross ate and drank a lot as he indulged himself well on his first ever trip to the casino.
This was a great luxury that he had never expected himself to do just a few months prior. Your adventure continues at My Virtual Library Empire
Just like in the casino, life certainly would give amazing surprises if one plays long enough and does not give up halfway.
