Chapter 159: One-sided Massacre Part Two
Suddenly, the guard yelled, "Don't call me idiotic. My name is Kempi!" He took a battle stance.
Akun spoke with a cold tone, his gaze narrowing from beneath his helmet. "I couldn't care less what your name is. Everyone in your tribe will be dying tonight—man, woman, child. What point is there to learn the name of a man that will be dying soon."
Kempi spoke up with a frustrated and disgusted tone. "You monster! To talk about murder so casually. You truly deserve to be put down."
Akun's tone turned even colder. "You must be one of those self-righteous hero types. You only care about your people, and the whole world could burn for all you care. You could murder over and over, and you would say it was for the greater good. If anyone should be called a monster, it should be you."
Akun then stretched out his hand, preparing to clutch it. But the dryad guard noticed when he had done the exact same thing earlier, so he swiftly jumped out of the way. The rubble in the surrounding area and the ground compressed and imploded.
Akun then mumbled, "Seems someone has been observant. Well, it doesn't matter."
Suddenly, Kempi felt an invisible force pulling him towards Akun's outstretched hand. He thought to himself, "He must be pulling me in so he can end me the same way he did the other guard earlier!" He tried to resist the pull of Akun's aspect power, but it was far too strong. As his feet slid on the ground towards Akun, he realized, "It's no use. I can't resist his pull.
I'll have to improvise then." Kempi then stopped resisting and let Akun pull him in. As he flew towards Akun, he held his spear outward, hoping this force would help the spear impale Akun.
But then, suddenly, black silver swords materialized all around Akun. He enhanced them with aspect power and shot them forward toward the guard. Kempi, seeing this, panicked and thought, "Wait! He never did anything like this earlier. How am I supposed to counter?
My body is off balance, and I'm being pulled towards him." He gritted his teeth, his green eyes blazing with resolve, and thought further, "I'll just have to make it work."
Kempi then began spinning his spear. Seeing this, Akun mumbled, "That's your grand plan? How naive." His purple eyes shone even brighter. As the first sword enhanced with aspect power came into contact with the spear, it broke the spear and continued flying forward towards Kempi. Time seemed to slow down as the guard's eyes widened with disbelief.
He realized his plan had gone off the rails, so now he had to think of something else. Gritting his teeth, he tilted his head to the left, allowing the sword to fly past, but it left a huge cut around his cheek.
"Ugh!" Kempi exclaimed as he set his gaze on the remaining, quickly approaching swords. He mused inwardly, "There are simply too many of them. The most I can do now is try to prevent any of them from hitting any vital organs and somehow find a way to avoid his grip at the end."
Suddenly, time proceeded back at its original speed. Kempi was impaled with several swords. In that split second, he had managed to avoid getting hit by many blades, but most of them still struck. He had multiple cuts all over his body from avoiding some of the blades that cut his skin. Unfortunately for him, he still ended up in Akun's hand, hoisted above the ground by his neck.
As Akun hoisted Kempi by the neck, due to all the wounds he had obtained on his arms from the swords, he couldn't muster any strength to resist Akun's grip on his neck. He simply hung there helplessly. Realizing that he was going to die, he let out a small smile and said, "You may break my body, but you will never break my..."
But then he was suddenly cut off as dark silver spikes poked out all over his body, turning him into a pincushion. Akun flung him away and said, "You and your tribe don't deserve to say those words."
As Kempi landed on the floor with a loud thud, his blood flowed freely from all his wounds, forming a pool of crimson around him. Somehow, he managed a weak chuckle, though his eyes grew dull as the moonlight bathed his motionless body. His thoughts raced as he realized, "So, this is the end for me. I didn't even get to use any of my killer moves... So unfair.
I wonder how my little Prin and my lovely Liva will manage without me."
His mood swiftly took a downward spiral as thoughts of his wife and son consumed him. "Sorry, little Prin... I guess daddy broke his promise about giving you a one-on-one lesson on the spear."
A tear streamed down from his left eye to the ground as he continued his thoughts. "And my lovely Liva, I'm sure you're probably worried about me going on this mission, despite your concerns... " He managed a weak chuckle and said, "I can practically see your worried face. It's always as cute as ever... I'm sorry.
I guess I won't be able to share any of your homemade dinners with our sweet Prin again... I'm truly sorry."
His eyes slowly closed, and Kempi finally succumbed to his wounds.
As Akun continued his stride towards the castle, he was confronted by multiple guards. Unfortunately for them, they all met their demise at his hands, and not a single one was able to leave a scratch on Akun's armor. Chaos was reigning, and no one could stop him.
Meanwhile, the princess received assistance as she headed to inform the elders of what was transpiring outside the castle walls.
As she walked slowly through the halls, she mused inwardly, "Truly terrifying, a force we shouldn't have messed with. Because of my bad decision-making, my people are dying out there. I must ask the elders to lend us aid."
