Chapter 173: Masked Intentions
As Akun observed the princess conjure a massive root to transport both her and Oliver, he couldn't help but notice the amusing struggles they faced during their unconventional journey.
Hovering discreetly behind them, he pondered, "All that I need is a moment when Oliver finally separates himself from the princess. Then, I'll just pull him back, and I can merge the timelines."
Akun watched as, finally reaching the Dryad tribe, Rinalef gently lowered the colossal root until it touched the forest floor. With a delicate grace, she and Oliver stepped off the massive platform, their feet meeting the soft ground.
As they dismounted, Rinalef turned to witness the root retracting into the earth, like a hidden secret of the forest, leaving no trace behind. It vanished as mysteriously as it had appeared.
With a radiant smile that matched the beauty of the surrounding woods, Rinalef turned toward Oliver, her green eyes sparkling with gratitude. She addressed him, her voice light and warm. "Okay, Sir Oliver, this is where we part ways. Thank you for escorting me this far. Goodbye for now." With a cheerful wave, she began her walk towards the castle.
Oliver, equally affable, waved back, his voice filled with appreciation. "Goodbye." He watched her elegant figure move away until she was enveloped by the vibrant, otherworldly village. Then, he turned to find his own path through the mystic forest.
Seeing all this happen from a short distance away, Akun mumbled, "This is my best shot yet." Just as Oliver was about to take stealthy steps into the Dryad tribe, Akun sped over to his side and knocked him out. Immediately, he propelled himself back to the ant city with massive speed, carrying unconscious Oliver beside him with aspect power.
Akun then arrived at the outskirts of the ant city and carefully dropped Oliver's unconscious body, muttering, "This should be a good spot."
Suddenly, Akun noticed Oliver's body being carried away by what seemed to be aspect power.
"What? I'm not the one doing that," Akun mumbled. His eyes widened with disbelief when he heard a voice say, "I'm the one." Akun turned around to see the other Akun from this alternate timeline. His face was all serious as he asked, "Who are you, and why are you walking around looking like me?"
Inwardly, Akun mused, "Why the hell is he here? Why did he even come? I don't remember ever leaving the ant city after I sent Oliver out on his mission, so how and why is he here? Damn it."
Akun let out a sigh and muttered, "Well, that happened." He then yelled, "Chronos Ruler!" Suddenly, time came to a standstill; everything else, except Akun, seemed to turn black and white as he slowly approached the other Akun from this timeline.
Placing his hand on his forehead, Akun intended to use his †Authority† to erase this moment from the mind of the Akun from this timeline.
(A/N: bro is completely forgetting even if he is from the future, all Akuns have plot armor!)
Immediately, as Akun began wiping that moment from this timeline's Akun's memories, something was happening that he didn't have any knowledge about because when something similar happened to him, he was frozen in time and do didn't have any idea of what happned.
Inwardly, inside the head of the Akun from this timeline, the system's voice echoed.

As Akun slowly wiped away the memory from the mind of the Akun from this timeline, he became increasingly aware of peculiar changes. Glowing cracks began to spiderweb across the alternate timeline's Akun, resembling intricate patterns etched onto his very body.
Perplexed, Akun furrowed his brow, his gaze fixated on the unfolding enigma. "What the hell is this?" he muttered, trying to discern the significance of the cracks that now adorned the alternate version of himself. The air crackled with an unspoken mystery, leaving Akun with an unsettling sense of uncertainty.
As Akun wondered what the exact nature of those cracks were, an unexpected surge of energy erupted from the alternate timeline's Akun. The force of the explosion propelled Akun backward, leaving him momentarily disoriented.
The very fabric of time surrounding the alternate Akun fractured into thousands of glistening shards, freezing and shimmering in an ethereal dance before time resumed its steady flow. The aftermath hung in the air, a residue of power and mystery, as Akun tried to fathom the unforeseen consequences of tampering with the timelines.
As the realization dawned on Akun, he mused, "This was similar to what happened with me and the goddess. Wait, don't tell me."
Inside the head of the alternate Akun, the system's voice echoed:
[Ding!! The player has awakened an †Authority†!!]
[GX-Chaos- will now remove its modifier!]
[Ding! GX-Chaos- has been identified as: †Authority† †Great Xtreme Chaos†!!]
As the phenomenon unfolded before him, Akun mused inwardly, "This is very similar to what happened to me back when I was facing the goddess." Activating his dragon eyes, he continued, "He still seems to be in the dragon grade, though, but now he has an †Authority†."
The alternate Akun briefly smiled at the system notification. His expression turned serious as he locked eyes with Akun. "I'll ask again, who are you, and why do you look like me? What were you going to do with Oliver?"
As Akun pondered the possibility of rewinding time, lost in thought, the Akun from the alternate timeline swiftly suited up in his dark silver armor. His eyes glowed behind the visors as he inquired with a deep voice, "Hey, I'm talking to you." Aspect power surged outward from his body, signaling a readiness for any confrontation.
Akun swiftly extended his left hand as if reaching for something, and a green, translucent clock materialized in front of him. With a resounding yell, he declared, "Chaos Ruler - Rewind." The clock's hands attempted to turn backward, causing a ripple in reality. However, before the process could complete, the clock shattered and faded into nothingness.
Inside Akun's mind, the system's voice echoed with a clear message, [†Authority† activation failure.]
Inwardly, Akun questioned, "Why did the activation fail!?"
The system explained, [The Akun of this timeline has awakened an †Authority†; such an event cannot be erased or allowed to be prevented.]
The Akun from the alternate timeline became serious, demanding, "Hey, what are you trying to pull?" In an instant, he materialized a series of swords made of dark silver and propelled them at high speed toward Akun.
In that moment, time seemed to slow down as Akun pondered, "Damm it, I completely forgot about that. In other words, mission failed. No, I can't give up, got to try another approach."
Suddenly, Akun wielded his aspect power to halt the approaching swords mid-air, and proceeded to deflect them, causing the alternate timeline Akun to widen his eyes in bewilderment. "What?"
Akun then spoke, saying, "I'm you, from the future."
Akun from the alternate timeline retorted, "You actually expect me to believe that?"
Akun countered, "Come on, we are in a fantasy world. Besides, how many people do you know can use aspect power?"
Akun's fingers danced through the air, a subtle display of his aspect power as he effortlessly pulled the previously deflected sword from the ground. He turned, the weapon gleaming in his grasp, and directed his gaze toward the alternate timeline Akun.
"See," he declared with a confident smirk, "I'm you."
The alternate Akun sighed, his dark silver armor retracting like a shadow fading away. Leaning in, he asked, "If you're truly me, then you must have our best interest at heart. So, what brings you to this moment?"
Akun released a sigh, his breath lingering in the air as he spoke. "It's a long story, but before I spill the beans, do you mind following me to the Dryad tribe?"
His counterpart quirked an eyebrow, a subtle yet questioning gesture. "What for?" he asked, gesturing inquisitively.
A mischievous glint danced in Akun's eyes as he replied, "Well, I just want to enslave them all, no biggie."
The alternate timeline Akun quirked an eyebrow, his body subtly shifting with curiosity. "Why do you want to enslave them?"
Akun's gaze sharpened, and he responded, his hand making a decisive gesture in the air. "Just know I need some answers I wasn't able to get from their princess, and they were also responsible for something that nearly eradicated our entire tribe."
A wry smile crept onto the alternate Akun's face as he mused, "Oh, so you want to bind them before they become a problem again."

Inwardly, Akun mused, "Well, that's just a cover so I can figure out how to fix this problem."
