Chapter 177: Asserting Dominance
"State your name right this instant!" Thalgar yelled, pointing a claw at Akun with a narrowed gaze, seriousness etched in his voice.
The air in the hall became charged with tension as the tribe leaders' piercing gazes bore into Akun, creating a palpable atmosphere of uncertainty.
Despite the intensity of their stares, Akun remained unfazed. With an air of confidence, he addressed them, "Since you are all here, where is the princess?"
Thalgar's irritation grew as Akun continued to disregard him.
Leandor, his patience waning, stepped forward, his voice demanding, "You were just asked a question. Answer now, who are you?"
Akun, seemingly indifferent to their inquiries, activated his dragon eyes. The ethereal glow emanating from his eyes intensified as he scanned the hallway. He pinpointed the princess's location in a lavish room down the hall. Inwardly, he mused, "Found her," his confidence unwavering in the face of the tribe leaders' scrutiny.
Akun then proceeded to take a step forward and began walking towards the tribe leaders. They saw him doing this, and they all prepared themselves for a battle. To their surprise, Akun simply walked past them, as if they didn't exist.
With that action, the demeanor of all the tribe leaders suddenly became serious as they fell into stunned silence, still standing there momentarily frozen. With his mane rising up as reddish mana surrounded him, Leandor, the beast folk tribe leader, spoke with an angered tone, his eyes filled with rage. "How dare you."
Swiftly, he turned around and initiated an attack, mana gathered at the tip of his claws as he shaped it like a spear and thrust it at Akun.
Time seemed to slow down as his spear-claw approached. Akun, aware of the attack, simply tilted his head until his left eye caught sight of what Leandor was doing, his eyes shining brightly.
Suddenly, a massive force slammed Leandor into the ground, effectively pinning him there.
Akun's voice dripped with disdain as he addressed the pinned-down Leandor, "So much for being a tribe leader, a lion at that. Are you not ashamed to attack your enemies when they aren't looking?"
Immediately after witnessing this, Akun caught sight of Vaelon and Thalgar charging at him, both ready to initiate an attack. Irritated by the unfolding chaos, Akun yelled with a burst of aspect power, "I don't have time for any of this!"
The sudden massive burst of aspect power pushed the charging tribe leaders backward, creating a brief moment of reprieve in the escalating confrontation. Continue your journey on My Virtual Library Empire
Meanwhile, somewhere on the ceiling in the same hallway, Arachneia had climbed the roof with her spider legs. Due to her absurd speed and Akun's momentary distraction, she was now directly above him. Her eyes glinted as she prepared for an attack, and she jumped off the ceiling. Time seemed to slow down as she slowly fell behind Akun. Inwardly, her face bore a wicked and wide smile.
"This fool is so full of himself. I shall be teaching him his place as the leader of the tribe that was once the world's greatest assassins, capable of killing even dragons. Die!"
As she brought down her thread around his neck and held both ends with her hands, ready to pull hard, to her surprise, the threds suddenly cut. Almost instantaneously, Akun turned around to face her. Just as he did with Thalanor, he swiftly grabbed her face and slammed her head into the ground. Instantly, she lost consciousness.
A deep voice echoed through the air, "A formidable foe, indeed." Akun turned his gaze toward the source, finding Skalathar, the lizard man tribe leader, looming over him. Massive scaly hands, imbued with greenish mana, were poised to deliver a devastating attack as they solidified around his arms.
Akun, vexed by the relentless attacks, gritted his teeth. His eyes glowed brightly as he unleashed a massive burst of aspect power, slamming it into Skalathar with instantaneous force. The lizard man leader coughed up blood, sent flying through the same broken-down wall in the tree castle that the elders had earlier crashed through when Akun set them airborne with his formidable aspect power.
As Skalathar, the largest among the tribe leaders, was sent flying effortlessly and Arachneia, the fastest among them, was incapacitated, the remaining leaders took a moment to reconsider their approach. Leandor, now free from the earlier pressure of Akun's aspect power, exchanged glances with Seraphina, Vaelon, and Thalgar. Each of them understood what needed to be done.
Suddenly, Seraphina began to sing, her angelic voice casting a drowsy spell over Akun as he stumbled to his knees. Seizing the opportunity, Thalgar shouted, "Now!"
In an instant, both Thalgar and Leandor charged at Akun, their bodies glowing with mana as they prepared to unleash devastating attacks. Inwardly, Akun mumbled, "Damn, what the hell is going on? I... feel so sleepy."
As Vaelon, with enhanced physical features, joined the charge behind Thalgar and Leandor, a surge of mana built inside his body. His limbs became more bulky, and with one consent, he joined the assault.
In the midst of the action, time seemed to slow down, and the system's voice echoed in Akun's thoughts: [Notice!! The player should use his †Authority† to protect their mind.]
With the last shreds of his consciousness, Akun followed the instruction. His †Authority† surged forward, enveloping his body. In an instant, he snapped back, witnessing the approaching tribe leaders and the singing Seraphina. He then rose to his feet, directing his gaze at them. His eyes shon brightly.
As Akun rose to his feet, Seraphina widened her eyes in disbelief. Inwardly, she mused, "Impossible! How is he getting on his feet? It is impossible for anything with ears to not be affected by the song of a siren, not to mention I am of royal bloodline."
His eyes shone brightly as he released a massive instantaneous burst of aspect power, obliterating that section of the tree castle and sending the tribe leaders flying. They managed to land on their feet, but not without coughing up blood.
