Exorcist in America

Chapter 398: Chapter 398: Genius Judy

Originally, there were concerns about how to better integrate Alesha into human society.

But when little Sharon arrived, this issue was easily resolved. With Sharon leading the way, Alesha's integration would only happen faster.

Soon, he would throw Alesha into school to let her experience what homework was like.

York's gaze shifted to the other side.

As the two resolved the awkwardness in front of them, like children finding friends, they ran off to the side to play, chatting from time to time.

Fortunately, both had a common hobby—drawing. They guided each other, creating a lively and pleasant atmosphere.

"This world's ending of Silent Hill is probably just like this, at least better than the Silent Hill movie from my previous life."

York's lips curled up slightly; he enjoyed watching such heartwarming scenes.

"Thank you, Father York."

Chris and Rose stood by, also displaying gentle smiles. Watching little Sharon laughing from time to time, they exchanged glances and then approached York to express their gratitude.

"You have saved our family," Rose said earnestly.

Having been with them throughout the journey, she had seen everything.

Whether it was the psychotic killer or the subsequent events, the priest in front of them had handled everything perfectly, which was unbelievable to her.

Looking back, she and her husband could never have managed, especially not the psychotic killer.

York smiled, "You have always helped the church; it's the least I can do."

Rose glanced at Chris, who smiled, "Father, can we leave Sharon here today?"

"Hmm?" York raised an eyebrow, knowing how much the parents loved little Sharon.

"Considering Sharon's condition, Rose and I have been exhausted for so long," Chris said with a smile, "So we thought of relaxing today."

Saying this, Chris took Rose's hand, his face full of affection.

A big serving of dog food.

York glanced in the direction of little Sharon and Alesha, pondered for a moment, and understood Chris and Rose's intention.

"It's fine, just Sharon."

"No problem, Father, we've already spoken to Sharon," Rose said.

"She agreed."

"Then please, make yourselves comfortable," York said with a smile.

"Sharon is here; you can rest assured."

"Okay, we'll come to pick up Sharon in the evening."

Chris and Rose nodded and walked away, leaving a thick stack of bills, at least a few thousand, in the donation box under York's watchful eye.

York didn't stop them because this at least provided Chris and his wife with some peace of mind.

Watching them say goodbye to Sharon and also chatting with Alesha, they left the church. Sharon waved goodbye, and York picked up the book he hadn't finished, sitting down with a sense of comfort and tranquility.

But in the afternoon, with the arrival of the Warren couple, his mood reached a climax.

After John Wick brought them into his office.

Not to mention the Warren couple, York first saw his goddaughter, Judy Warren.

She was one of the children baptized by him.

The girl, who had grown taller since their last meeting, was excited to see him.

"Godfather! Godfather!"

Seeing Judy breaking away from the Warren couple and hopping towards him, York had memories flashing in his eyes.

"Long time no see, you've really grown! Judy!"

The last time they met, she was just a primary school student; now, she already looked like a middle school student.

No, at twelve years old, she was already a middle school student.

Her dark brown hair, delicate features still with a hint of baby fat, dressed entirely in denim, carrying a violin case—she looked every bit the part of a young lady.

"Yep, I'm twelve now!" Judy's face beamed with a smile, blinking her big eyes.

"But you haven't changed at all, Godfather."

Seeing the elegance emanating from Judy, York silently nodded, looking towards the Warren couple and John Wick, along with Eileen.

He knew only too well how well the Warren couple had raised her.

Perhaps like most children born into elite families, they are all like this.

"Bishop York." Ed, whom he called the child of destiny, greeted first.

York nodded in acknowledgment; Ed was a fascinating person.

Although weak, he managed to resolve over a hundred paranormal events and even collected so many contaminants in his house yet remained unscathed.

If he wasn't a child of destiny, York wouldn't believe it.

Then there was Roline.

"Bishop York, we've brought Judy to see you."

Roline gently patted Judy's head, which was slightly shy.

"This child has been shouting every day to see you since she knew you were back in New York; Ed and I have been quite troubled."

"Mom!" Judy was obviously embarrassed, glanced at the smiling godfather in front, and called out.

"Hehe," Ed continued to tease from behind.

"Judy

, don't you want Bishop York to see what you've recently done?"

York raised an eyebrow, intrigued; it seemed his goddaughter not only excelled in playing the violin but also shone in other areas.

Seeing Judy hesitating, York nodded encouragingly.

"Come on, show me what you've been up to lately; I only know about you winning first place in a violin competition."

"Okay, Godfather."

Upon hearing this, Judy looked towards her mother, then pulled out a large stack of certificates from her handbag, her face flushed with pride and excitement.

York smiled, taking the stack of certificates.

Had he not looked, he wouldn't have known. Beyond winning first place in violin competitions, she also topped her school and even won first place in freestyle skiing, debate competitions, and the junior division of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).

After reviewing the report card and certificates in his hand, York couldn't help but look at Judy, who was blinking her big eyes, seemingly waiting for his praise, and inwardly remarked,

"Genius."

York handed back the report card and certificates to Judy, patting her on the shoulder.

"Well done, Judy."

Regardless of

"Hehe." Judy chuckled, handing the certificates back to her mother, and said,

"Godfather, may I play a piece for you?"

As she spoke, Judy adjusted the violin case and glanced curiously at the twins walking over with their drawing pads and brushes, wondering about their relationship with the godfather.

York, feeling Judy's gaze, simply scanned around and smiled.

"Sure."

At that moment, York's office turned into a concert venue.

The Warren couple stood together, watching Judy at the center of the open space taking out her violin, their eyes filled with deep love.

York stood beside the Warren couple, with Alesha and little Sharon by his side, holding drawing papers, occasionally watching Judy at the center and then looking at each other.

John Wick and Eileen stood like subordinates, a step behind York.

"Uncle York, who is that lady?" Alesha, more reserved than little Sharon, tugged at York's clothes and asked quietly.

"That lady is my goddaughter, Judy," York replied with a smile.

"Just call her Sister Judy in the future; she's two years older than you, and she might often come to play."

"Oh," little Sharon responded, exchanging a glance with Alesha.

At that moment, Judy had picked up her violin and tuned it briefly, like a true young noblewoman, bowing gracefully to the audience around her.

With her slender hands and the violin, her elegant demeanor was indeed striking, although she wore a full set of denim, not a specialized dress.

Feeling Judy's gaze, York nodded.

Judy smiled, positioned her feet together, raised the violin, and stabilized it with her left hand and shoulder. She gently placed her fingers on the violin strings, holding the bow with her right hand, ready to play.

Her posture was impeccably professional.

York could see Judy had put great effort into her craft.

"Truly a first-place genius."

Compared to York's satisfaction,

The Warren couple watched their daughter, their parental love evident to anyone, but their pride in their child was even more apparent.

Judy began to play.

With her gentle touch, her fingers nimbly moved across the strings, and a captivating melody followed.

The music flowed like water, clear and pure, carrying a mesmerizing charm, allowing for boundless imagination. The melody alternated between high-spirited and beautifully tender.

Every stroke of her bow, her force and speed, her posture, and the music complemented each other, creating a unique and attractive atmosphere.

York recognized the piece Judy was playing as [Ave Maria], a violin solo composed by German violinist Wilhelmj based on Schubert's song of the same name.

It portrayed a noble and simple image of the Virgin Mary, presenting a serene yet profound musical narrative, emotionally intense and meticulously structured, deeply moving with its sincerity and devotion.

It was undeniably beautiful.

York felt Judy had chosen this piece just for him.

When the music ended, and Judy held the violin with one hand, bowing to the audience, York led everyone in applause.

Judy smiled and approached, "Godfather, how was it?"

"Very well played," York nodded in approval, then turned to the Warren couple.

"If there's anything you need, just let me know; as a godfather, it's my duty to help."

The Warren couple exchanged glances.

"Bishop York, not to hide anything from you, but we've decided to settle in New York. We feel Judy shouldn't be without your guidance."

York raised an eyebrow, chuckled, then looked behind at Eileen.

"Eileen, you heard that."

Standing behind him, Eileen responded, "I heard, Bishop."

After speaking, Eileen nodded at the Warren couple.

As Bishop York's administrative nun, she knew that the

girl who had just finished playing the violin and called her bishop 'Godfather' would now be no different from the children of prestigious families.

Sometimes, being a goddaughter to Bishop York York was even more prestigious than being a child of the so-called elite.

From now on, Judy's status would become even more precious, especially after the bishop decided to publicly acknowledge her as his goddaughter, letting the world's elite know Judy was under his care.

"Thank you, Bishop York."

The Warren couple clearly understood this, eager for their daughter's future. They had gambled everything, setting aside all pride, continuously boasting about her achievements and hinting at her connection with York.

York smiled, not minding at all, and looked at Judy:

"Be good to your parents."

"I will, Godfather."

Judy seemed to understand something in that moment, moving to her parents' side.

"Daddy! Mom…"

Ed and Roline simply beamed, each patting Judy on the shoulder.

Seeing this, York shook his head internally, anticipating that he would have to stand up for Judy, probably not for the last time, given he had three other godchildren.

"Never mind," York thought, looking at the harmonious and warm scene of the Warren family.

"After conducting Saxxon's wedding, I'll have to head to the island to deal with the world rift that's been causing trouble."

Just then, he felt his clothes being tugged. Looking down, he saw Alesha and little Sharon each pulling at his sleeve.

Before he could ask, little Sharon looked towards Judy and whispered.

"Uncle York, I want to learn the violin, I want to be like Sister Judy."

Seeing little Sharon's eager and envious expression, York's lips twitched, turning to the more reserved Alesha.

"Do you want to learn too?"

Alesha nodded.

"Alright," York said reluctantly.

"Everyone learns, I'll have Aunt Eileen arrange it for you."
