Exorcist in America

Chapter 449: Chapter 449: Breaking the Heavens

The cloud of dust soaring into the sky was propelled by a tremendous shockwave.

As the dust cloud rose, and the shockwave spread, York and Alesha were the closest to the source. The Norwegian officials nearby struggled to maintain their footing, collapsing to the ground as the shockwave hit them.

"What just happened?" Commander Momchil refused the help of his soldiers, staring in astonishment at the scene on the horizon. He recalled the sight he had seen just before the shockwave hit, the sky filled with sudden bursts of fire.

As a military leader, he knew what those firebursts signified, but the effect and power far exceeded his expectations. The sky seemed to be consumed by the flames.

Secretary Laruk, with the help of others, looked at Haldane, who had managed to stand up with difficulty.

"Haldane, what do you think happened over there?"

Haldane, stunned by the awe-inspiring scene, took a deep breath. He recalled the miraculous scenes he had seen in live broadcasts and answered gravely.

"The disturbance we felt was from Archbishop York launching all his missiles. As for why the power was so immense, only Archbishop York can explain."

Taking another deep breath, Haldane added, "I believe Archbishop York might have gained an advantage in the recent events."

"Hmm?" Secretary Laruk's eyes widened in astonishment as he looked at the ongoing, seemingly apocalyptic scene. "You mean it's not over yet?"

Haldane nodded.

"If the missiles were effective, Archbishop York would have asked us to gather more missiles, but he hasn't."

Pausing, Haldane turned to Commander Momchil, "Commander Momchil, I believe we should continue to retreat. If the disturbance over there escalates, we could be caught in it. We are already struggling to maintain our positions, and the true shockwave might not have reached us yet."

Commander Momchil nodded in agreement.

——

Indeed, as Haldane speculated, they were only experiencing the beginning. The true shockwave and the main force of the disturbance were yet to come.

Meanwhile, York himself doubted the effectiveness of the missile barrage. He knew he could handle such attacks, so the King of the Giants, a creature from Norse mythology, surely could as well.

Watching the dust cloud rise, resembling a natural disaster, York maintained his protective barrier to shield against the approaching shockwave.

"Alesha, do you think it's dead?"

Alesha shook her head. "Uncle York, if your guess is correct, it won't die as long as there are stones around. It can rebuild its body and revive."

She glanced at the ground. "And we're surrounded by stones!"

York smiled, listening to Alesha. As the shockwave approached, he extended his hand, forming an invisible barrier.

Boom.

The shockwave collided with the barrier, splitting around them. The ground on either side of the barrier was torn apart, with boulders and vegetation being swept away.

The scene resembled a massive tornado, with debris filling the air.

York's telekinetic field calmed the area within his control, leaving only the ground beneath him and Alesha unchanged. The surrounding land had sunk several meters due to the shockwave's force.

The terrifying power of the shockwave was evident.

York looked ahead, his vision unaffected by the flying debris. With his powers, he had a clear view of the scene, as if he had eyes everywhere.

Amid the rising dust, resembling a volcanic eruption, he saw the remains of the King of the Giants in a pool of lava.

"Is it over?"

Seeing the giant's body lying in the lava, York wondered.

"Why isn't it regenerating?"

As if to answer York's question, the stones making up the giant's body began to tremble and gather. Stones from the ground and debris from the air converged on the giant's body, merging with the flowing lava.

In moments, the King of the Giants began to reform.

"Roar!"

With a mighty roar, the King of the Giants, now covered in lava instead of cold rock, opened its crystalline eyes.

"Roar!"

Its upper body rose from the lava pool. The giant's form was no longer rigid rock but molten lava, flowing like rivers of fire.

The lava flowed over the giant's body, creating a spectacle of molten waterfalls. The gaps between the stones were filled with glowing magma, making the giant's once sharp edges appear blurred.

The giant now resembled a living volcano, with rivers of lava flowing over its body, forming a sight both beautiful and terrifying.

"Interesting!"

York was not frightened but intrigued, recognizing a resemblance to a creature from his favorite game, the molten beast Malphite.

The giant's surroundings shimmered with heat, creating distorted light effects. The air around it heated up, forming waves of hot air as it moved.

"This giant beast looks spectacular!"

York murmured, admiring the giant's lava-covered form. He realized the giant's power over stone included magma, making it even more formidable.

"Olaf!"

The King of the Giants extended its molten hand, gathering surrounding stones and magma to form an even larger lava axe.

With a mighty swing, the giant struck the ground, creating a massive fissure, sending shockwaves that blew away everything in the vicinity.

The giant rose, now a towering lava beast, different from its previous stone form.

"Uncle York," Alesha's voice broke through. She watched the monstrous giant and suggested, "Should I trap it in my world? It won't be able to get any support there."

York shook his head, gently patting Alesha's head.

"Let's see. I've already gauged its strength."

Alesha blinked.

"If it only has brute strength, it's not a real threat."

York smiled, "Wait here. I'll go meet it."

Having used up the missiles and assessed the giant's capabilities, York knew it was time to act.

"Okay!" Alesha nodded obediently.

York turned to the giant, which had begun to move. His eyes flashed with determination, and he flew towards the giant, pushing away debris with his telekinetic power.

Reaching out, York summoned the Divine Judgement Axe, which flew into his hand. Though the axe was larger than him, he wielded it with ease, channeling holy power into it.

The axe transformed, glowing white and radiating light, growing to about ten meters in size, making York appear larger.

In moments, York had crossed nearly a hundred kilometers.

"Olaf!"

The giant roared, its crystalline eyes fixed on the glowing figure.

"My mortal enemy!"

It swung its massive lava axe at York, undeterred by his changed appearance, focused on the Divine Judgement Axe.

"Die!"

The space trembled, the power of the swing spreading outwards, like a roaring dragon, expanding over a hundred meters.

The deafening roar echoed, accompanied by a wave of energy. The sheer force tore through the air, creating a whirlwind of debris.

The scene was apocalyptic.

To York, the approaching attack was like a natural disaster, seemingly insurmountable.

"Indeed, the bigger the body, the greater the impact."

York continued his charge, unfazed by the approaching calamity.

"No sensation, no power."

Unharmed, York flew through the storm of debris, heading straight for the giant.

The giant, seeing its attack fail, was momentarily shaken. It took a few steps, causing the ground to tremble, leaving deep craters before leaping up, both hands gripping the lava axe, aiming to crush the small figure.

At over two hundred meters tall, every move of the giant was cataclysmic.

The scene was grand and awe-inspiring.

York, a mere speck in comparison, faced the giant's might.

As the giant's lava axe descended, the entire space shook. The axe, carrying destructive power, roared like thunder, igniting the air with its heat.

For a human, the pressure would be unbearable.

Even York felt the immense pressure.

Looking up, he saw only the descending axe, blotting out the sky.

The sheer force of the attack created a red-hot whirlwind, a disaster-level strike.

If it hit the ground, the entire Sognefjord would suffer a catastrophic chain reaction.

York took a deep breath, charging towards the descending axe, enduring the immense pressure. He swung the Divine Judgement Axe at the fiery sky.

Boom!

The clash produced a shockwave that rippled outwards.

The lava axe, representing the sky, was shattered by York's strike...
