Extra's Harem: Invincibility Starts with Marriage and lots of Children

Chapter 18: Chapter 18- Death?

"N-no, young master, how could I?! I am just a commoner."

Milena was visibly trembling, her eyes filled with confusion as she took a step back, looking towards me.

It was evident that she needed a valid reason for what I had said.

"Fine, from now on, you are my wife. Now take it," I stated casually.

I considered that trying to convince her with different offers or reasoning would not work either way, as she would most likely just pose an opposite question.

So, I silenced her with words that clearly had an effect.

I saw her thunderstruck, mouth agape, as I took her hand and placed the emblem in it.

Without caring about her body, which seemed to fall into a trance, becoming a statue as if she could not process what I said, I moved away.

Already dressed, I approached a sobbing small bat on the floor and stretched my hand to lift it up.

:: Leave me, human ::

Once again, with that rude yet saddened voice, Valeriana uttered her prideful-toned words, coiled up like an infant.

I looked in my hand and saw her clearly saddened expression concealed within her coiled body.

Glancing back at Milena, who remained thunderstruck, I thought, 'How did she see her?'

There was a slight confusion as to how Milena was able to see Valeriana's real appearance, but I dismissed it, thinking maybe after the domain expansion, everyone within the domain could see her.

I made my way out of the room.

While doing so, I felt an anomaly in that I could sense people within my 10-meter radius.

Though I could not sense non-living things, I was able to tell how strong their vitality was for the living.

It was as though I could see their souls, their exact shapes and sizes.

The feeling was simply like having a trigger; just clicking it would extinguish that particular light, killing the individual.

It did not matter if they were maids, insects, or any living creature within this radius as I moved through the corridor.

"Greetings, prince."

"I hope your journey goes well, prince."

While exiting, I suddenly heard a manly voice, causing me to notice a butler approaching with a smile, more like a grin on his face, rubbing his hands.

[Ember Sparrow Bloodline, Smoldering Embers Physique, 10 years of cultivation, Ember Qi, No artifact.]

Looking towards him, I instantly recognized that he was a cultivator, unlike others, given that a screen automatically hovered above his head.

"What is your name?" I inquired to confirm his identity as he followed behind me.

We made our way out of the mansion.

"It's Lee Quin, my lord. You really forgot this humble one's name, haha!"

Hearing his laughter and that gesture with his eyes closed reminded me of another character with the same name, who used to laugh like that while mocking Milena, the proxy of this territory, undermining her orders because he found her unworthy of that role.

He made things harder for her.

"It was nice meeting you, Lee Quin."

Before he could respond, it was as simple as blowing out a candle; I did not have to make a move—just a simple thought and a sound resonated.

Thud.

"Kyaa! Sir Butler has lost consciousness!"

"What happened?!"

Turning back through the corridor, I could only hear the sound of his body flattening on the floor as the servants flocked around, trying to help him up.

Considering his status as a butler, most of the servants were favoring his side, undermining the authority of the proxy.

Uncaring, I continued my way out of the mansion.

The sensation while taking his life felt like nothing.

There was no feeling of blood or hurting someone; it was simply like blowing out a candle.

Even though I knew he was a good enough cultivator, far stronger than my level, I felt as if I had complete control over his life.

Just blowing it out made him fall flat, dead.

[Phantom Reaper Bloodline, Ghostveil Physique, 300 years of cultivation, Specter Qi, Twilight Phantom Twin Blades artifact.]

'Hm?'

While moving outside the mansion building, my eyes, observing my surroundings, I suddenly noticed a hovering window on a tree branch.

It was in clear view, considering the garden area leading towards the metal grills, where only gardeners and soldiers were present, guarding the place.

A carriage was waiting, just for my departure.

But between the carriage and me was a tree on the edge of the pathway, from whose branch I saw that screen.

'Specter Qi?' I thought, looking towards the key used by that individual.

It was clear that someone was using a stealth ability. Given that I do not have cultivation and even the strong cultivators might not sense that person's presence, the individual, having 300 years of cultivation and utilizing specter Qi used by assassins, caused my body to freeze.

I did not know who it was, but given the years of cultivation, I was sure that individual was very strong.

The old man who was considered one of the strongest individuals in the Arcturus family also had 300 years of cultivation and was in the 5th layer...

'Wait, why don't you mention their cultivation levels?'

I inquired of the system, considering that although each individual possessed different bodily physics and had adjusted the nature of their Qi but there was not a general mention of individuals' levels based on their strength.

It was much easier to understand their power levels rather than the bloodline physics thing.

[Considering the power level of this realm unconventional or proven, I preferred to keep it simple. Do you want me to show names and cultivation levels too?]

As I heard the system's words, I remembered how there was a particular department for individuals to earn their cultivation level. Rather than being decided on its own, it needed to go through that level of test to achieve that level through official means.

'Idiot but why hide names?'

Given the system could not only show the cultivation levels, but also the names, its explanation for cultivation power level was genuine.

After all, there was a reason this book got dropped—just bribe someone to earn the 2nd layer cultivation expert title, but for the system to not even mention the name, it only irritated me.

[Re-calibrating....]

[Olea Necrobane, Phantom Reaper Bloodline, Ghostveil Physique, 120 years of cultivation, Specter Qi, Twilight Phantom Twin Blades artifact, Early 6th layer Master.]

'!'

'Shit!'

As my eyes saw the status window with the name and cultivation mentioned, I did not even look towards the cultivation level; instead, the name was enough for me to halt.

I swiftly turned my gaze down from the tree, realizing that she most likely sensed my awareness of her.

After all, it was expected of the Guild leader of the Ghost Sect, a major character who played a crucial role in destroying the Arcturus family and killing the 14 wives of the real Kyle. He returned to his kingdom after gaining strength from those super strong wives, possessing unprecedented power.

This was more confusing considering all of them were 6th Layer masters.

In general, Kyle, whom I killed, was most likely at the 2nd Layer, yet he was strong enough to crush rocks with his fingers, while the old man was three layers stronger, at the 5th Layer, though the middle 5th layer, yet he was one of the strongest under the Arcturus family.

Generally, those who had just entered the path of cultivation were considered at the zero layer, and in the Azure Flame Kingdom, there were only a handful of 6th Layer masters; if you excluded the king, who was at the 7th Layer, or some others, for anyone above 7th layer, it becomes zero.

And right now, one of the powerhouses—early meaning she had just most likely entered—but still, even with the 5th Layer, she was already a threat.

'System, how far is she from my domain?'

I enquired the system, instantly realizing that her presence here could either be for two reasons, where either someone had hired her for my assassination or it was the princess's order to protect me in this journey, considering for until the moment we marry, I am most probably like a treasure to her, a treasure she must protect after her cause.

There was also no mention of this woman's presence in the original story, considering the viewpoint was always fixed on Kyle for the most part, so Leon was left with not much screen time.

[She is 3 meters away from the domain.]

'I see.'

Keeping my calm, I continued moving.

Due to her presence, I was initially taken aback and came to a halt, but now I just wanted to somehow have her enter my domain.

Swish

'!?'

:: Human—kneel! ::

Suddenly a sound reached my ears, accompanied by Valeriana's yell as she plunged through the air, swiftly trying to push me down.

My eyes widened as they reflected a kunai—a blade that arrived just a few inches away from me.

In that moment, there was only one thought in my mind, as my body was unable to respond in time: "Shit!"

SKCHLT!

"Kurghhh!?"
