Chapter 36 - Establishing the Territory—Xianteng Village
Chapter 36: Establishing the Territory—Xianteng Village
According to Wu Yuan’s knowledge, twenty-seven days had passed in the Tianyuan World. Some of his fellow Blue Star natives had already obtained Village Foundation Stones and even established territories.
There would always be those with extraordinary luck—people whose chances of encountering opportunities were far higher than ordinary individuals, even in the Tianyuan World.
Call it unearned gains or divine favor, but luck would not favor someone forever. Those who rushed to establish territories would soon regret it, as their good fortune would swiftly turn into misfortune.
Wu Yuan soaked three Village Foundation Stones in the stone milk. This method was no ordinary secret technique for handling the stones—even many major factions were unaware of such a way to enhance the stones’ potential beforehand.
The stone milk was a rare, artifact-grade material, highly precious.
Since he was willing to spare that bottle of stone milk, he was confident he could reap greater rewards from the enhanced Village Foundation Stones.
Now, he opened the ceramic jar—the stone milk inside had indeed been completely drained.
Unsurprised, he carefully examined the three Village Foundation Stones one by one.
The gray stone was no longer entirely gray. Instead, most of its dull hue had faded, leaving it a pale gray-white, now closely resembling the white-grade stone.
As for the white-grade stone, it had undergone a near-complete transformation.
Its color had shifted to a faint cyan, as if it had evolved into an entirely new, higher-grade foundation stone.
The nearly imperceptible runic arrays on its surface had grown more intricate and three-dimensional, so complex that a single glance could make one dizzy.
It worked!
He quietly let out a sigh of relief. This was his first time pre-enhancing a Village Foundation Stone, and while the cost of the stone milk was minor, damaging the stone would have been a true loss.
The results proved that this secret method was correct. He recalled how he had acquired it—in the second segment of his dream memories, when he was already frail with age…
Now, it was time to officially establish the territory.
First, he stored away the two originally gray stones. Then, Wu Yuan dripped a drop of blood onto the cyan-grade Village Foundation Stone.
Once the blood was fully absorbed, the stone emitted a faint cyan glow, and the runic arrays within began rapidly rotating.
Using a special technique, he gently tossed the stone toward the Cloud-Scaling Vine.
Sensing the stone’s approach, the vine immediately raised its tendrils as if preparing to strike.
But in the next instant, as if recognizing the stone’s unique aura, its aggressive motion shifted into a gentle embrace.
Not only did it extend a vine to catch the stone, but it also drew it close to its roots.
Dozens of root tendrils buried beneath the soil coiled around it, and with no visible effort, the Village Foundation Stone slowly sank into the earth.
Soon, Wu Yuan faintly sensed that the stone—still connected to his mind—had also linked with another, much younger consciousness.
Without hesitation, he silently commanded: “Establish the territory.”
Instantly, a pillar of cyan light erupted from the base of the Cloud-Scaling Vine, soaring hundreds of feet into the sky with terrifying momentum.
Had it not been concealed by the natural formation, this spectacle would have been visible from miles away.
At the same time, a voice echoed in Wu Yuan’s mind:
“Detected activation of a white-grade Village Foundation Stone. Please wait…”
“Detected long-term immersion in stone milk. Partial damage has been repaired. White-grade Village Foundation Stone upgraded to cyan-grade. Reward: Primary attributes doubled.”
“Detected a first-grade supreme mutant spiritual plant—Cloud-Scaling Vine—as a companion organism. Territory potential significantly enhanced. Early evolution of spiritual energy generation unlocked. Reward: One Star-Source Structure and one Citizen Token. Please claim later.”
“Detected one micro secondary essence vein, autonomously gathered and condensed by the Cloud-Scaling Vine. Territory’s essence-to-spiritual-energy conversion rate greatly increased. Reward: One additional Star-Source Structure. Please claim later.”
“All checks completed. Territory formation officially begins.”
As the voice faded, countless runes surged from the ground, forming a faintly visible runic array that gathered a swirling vortex of essence energy dozens of meters high. Chaotic light and shadows enveloped the hundred-meter radius of the hillside.
The terrain shifted slowly as a cyan wooden structure rose layer by layer from the earth, fully constructed in an instant.
Cyan light flowed across its surface, interspersed with faint runes—an extraordinary sight.
Wu Yuan watched intently as the territory took shape.
The positions where the runes guided the flow of essence energy were especially crucial—they would determine the efficiency of future constructions within the territory.
He memorized every detail, not daring to miss a single thing.
When the chaotic lights finally dissipated, he closed his eyes, carefully recalling the essence nodes. To his satisfaction, he found he had perfectly memorized all eighteen node locations.
This was one of the benefits of his increased cultivation level. Though his physical refinement was still at the Bone-Forging Stage, it didn’t mean there were no hidden enhancements to other aspects of his body.
Improved memory was one such benefit.
Now, he could memorize the essence nodes of a newly established territory in one go—putting him several steps ahead of others.
Though a cyan-grade Village Foundation Stone sounded impressive, a freshly established territory only had one structure: the cyan wooden house belonging to the lord.
The wooden house stood on a one-foot-high stone foundation, hinting at its extraordinary nature.
He pushed the door open and stepped inside.
The interior was a single, sparsely furnished room—no tables, chairs, or benches—just a hovering projection of the Village Foundation Stone in midair.
When he touched the projection, a stream of information flowed into his mind.
New Territory [Unnamed] Lord: Li Xinyuan
Level: Wilderness Camp (Level 1)
Population: 0 (Lord not counted)
Area: 100-meter radius
Attributes:
Lv.3 [Upgrade Feedback]: Each territory upgrade autonomously absorbs scattered high-altitude spiritual energy and channels it to citizens, aiding in blood-qi condensation. Wilderness Camp Lv.1 → Lv.2 grants 10 points of spiritual energy per citizen; Lv.2 → Lv.3 grants 20 points…
Lv.2 [Minor Secondary Essence Vein]: Gathered and condensed by the companion organism, Cloud-Scaling Vine. Upgraded from a micro secondary essence vein. Doubles essence energy density and essence-to-spiritual-energy conversion rate.
Lv.2 [Companion Organism—Cloud-Scaling Vine]: A mutant vine promoted to second-grade supreme due to becoming a companion organism. Generates 100 points of spiritual energy daily. Possesses strength equivalent to a Skin-Shedding Realm martial artist. Bound to Li Xinyuan. Can be controlled for offense/defense or set to autonomously attack hostile entities within a 10-meter radius.
Constructed Buildings: Lord’s Wooden House
Available Building Slots: 3 [Optional Structures] Resource Reserves: None
Upgrade Requirements: 20 citizens, 20 units of high-quality standard lumber, 5 units of high-quality standard stone
Wu Yuan promptly named the territory “Xianteng Village” (Immortal Vine Village) in honor of the Cloud-Scaling Vine’s contributions.
Technically, a Wilderness Camp-level territory wasn’t qualified to be called a “village,” but the title was used for convenience.
The fact that the Cloud-Scaling Vine had condensed a secondary essence vein was an unexpected delight. Even more surprising was the territory’s primary attribute—”Upgrade Feedback.”
This attribute was somewhat similar to the spiritual energy feedback from upgrading a relay station, except it benefited all citizens rather than just Wu Yuan alone.
Originally, he had assumed the stone’s attributes would be agriculture or population-related, as those were the most common.
For example, accelerating crop growth or slightly increasing citizens’ strength.
Yet, it turned out to be “Upgrade Feedback”—an exceptionally rare and top-tier attribute, already at Lv.3 from the start.
