FAIRY TAIL: GAMER PATH

Chapter 10: The Grind (2)

~Silva POV~

Squandering around I finally found the time researching Magic Power the one to show force by using the pressure of it into reality so to speak. Searching through the Fairy Tail library I found the book containing the introductions for it.

Magic is the physical embodiment of the spirit. When the physical spirit of an organism connects with the spiritual flow of nature, the spirit forms Magic as a product of the connection.

Though Magic goes beyond reason, it is still born of reason and takes enormous concentration and mental ability to use it. One's Magical Powers are also tied to one's life force. Only ten percent of the world's population is able to use Magic, which is noted to keep a balance between ordinary people and those with Magic.

According to famous Mages at the time, one's strength of feelings plays an important part in one's ability to properly use Magic.

To utilize Magic, a Mage must use the Magic Power in their body, which is composed of Ethernano, the source of Magic Power for all Mages. Every Mage has a container of Ethernano inside their body that determines the limits of their Magic Power.

In the case that it becomes empty, Ethernano will come from the atmosphere and enter the Mage's body and, after a while, their Magic Power shall return to normal.

To which I can see why the Magic Power or skills from this world differs or rather is incompatible with me. It's simply because the idea was made in mind that this is only for people with containers of their origins.

But in my case, I don't have one but allow my own Gate to filter the Mana or in this case Ethernano in the air into my soul and bodily system through whatever entry into my body adapting to the changes happening within me.

It would explain as to why whenever I try to use Mana, I feel like my nerves is on fire each time I try to channel my new Magic Power as it feels like I'm burning up or heating up from within my Gate.

This makes in some ways sense from the books I read that one can also train their own Nervous System and Wisdom for Magic, where the former becomes a vessel for Magic Power, a way to increase it.

Though this would leave some Mages to neglect their physical training, being vulnerable to those with superior physical abilities, apart from certain exceptions of others.

As Magic is tied to a being's life force, complete or at least near deprivation of one's Magic can be detrimental to the Mage's health unless medical actions are performed. Likewise, too much Magic Power can also be dangerous in an underdeveloped body.

Hmm…

This passage could also be interpreted for me the other way. With no magic for me suddenly introduced into my system trying to adapt to my new power of Mana in my developed body is more akin to poisoning myself doing so.

Furthermore, exposure to highly concentrated levels of Magic energy can also be toxic to any living creature which could be the case with me as well. Although there's no concrete proof it's something to consider carefully.

*THUD*

Closing the books of Magical Theories and Fundamentals of Magic I could only sigh pinching the bridge of my nose at the information, "Sigh… there's too many unknown variables to consider learning or obtaining magic. Perhaps I should find myself using Holder Magic Items for a time till I can find a way, to obtain Magic for myself."

I shouldn't go overboard losing hope yet at learning Magic. At the very least till I have some skills under my belt before I try although maybe I should go for an easy job…

Flipping over the books I went over the history of combats section that the guild has for anything related to melee combat.

Melee combat is a fighting style that, as the name itself suggests, revolves around close-range confrontation, with users assaulting opponents physically.

Widespread around Fiore, this form of combat can be employed by normal people and Mages alike.

While the latter ones were described as lacking the ability to fight at close range due to their time being devoted to studying Magic, some Mages are in fact shown to be fearsome melee fighters, even specializing in such form of combat.

Magic itself can be a valuable asset when engaging foes in close quarters, with many forms of Magic being focused around, melee combat.

But currently as I can't use Magic for the time being the next best step is look up armed combat that suits me.

Armed combat is the one I was looking for the most. Armed combat, as the name itself suggests, revolves around the usage of weapons, which users employ against their opponents at close range.

A variety of melee tools is commonly utilized throughout Fiore, with swords, coming in different shapes and sizes among which are longswords, katanas, sabers, and rapiers, being the most common ones, and with other weapons being daggers, spears, staves, axes, whips, scythes, guan dao, war hammers and kanabo.

Due to swords being the most popular weapons, Swordsmanship is a known discipline, with swordsmen found throughout the Kingdom possessing various levels of mastery. Most forms of swordplay, similar to most forms of unarmed combat, aren't properly classified as specific fighting styles.

Searching around for a few sword styles around the guild I found a few to my liking that I would need to perfect in my own time preparing my growth ahead of me.

Mugetsu-Style and Style of the Undrawn Long Sword.

Those two on mainly physical attacks I can use and perfect over time as grabbed hold of them seeing pop-ups making me smirk seeing it appear.

Clicking on yes for both of them they break down into light particles entering my body as I immediately feel the principle behind them like a beginner.

Along with that came new notifications along with new skills obtained from taking the two skill books gaining new skills in the process.
