Chapter 206: The Final Goodbye (2)
~Irene B. POV~
It's just as Chronos predicted.
And the forewarning from Dimaria God foretold Zeref himself of this one warning.
Never mess with the Chaos Dragon God's Apostle. For his, Apostle has no limit.
That was the one sole warning with everyone present that Dimaria never showed the sheer definition of terror of his predecessor.
It gave us pause to consider crossing the man in front of us. And I've seen firsthand how easily he could defeat us the supposed strongest this Empire has to offer…
And the strongest Fiore God Serena had to offer once he sided with us to vanquish Acnologia… Gone in an instant.
Fortunately, though for us or probably the world Chronos proclaimed soon a battle will end between the World's Strongest Mage against the World's Strongest Dragon.
What he shared was that Fate and timeline have gone array. But did confirm one thing. The Dragon will die. That's all his majesty would trust Chrono's word and fear from the god himself not wishing to challenge Silva.
He knows more than he lets on. And the term he used… Chaos Dragon God.
That's a new one that not even Zeref is unaware of for such a long-lasting immortal such as himself and even I. We both lived very long lives. Yet, not once have we heard of this Dragon when questioned…
Chronos could only say this…
Never cross a hunter. Nor will I cross a Primordial God Slayer.
That's all the Time God Chronos would say. And that's the only thing he would ever speak of the matter and if there was something that spooked a God of Time.
One that can stop time and is stronger than him. Then the one backing Silva Knights is his powered or rather worked hard with no limit.
I could flinch at this. And to think it was 7 years ago we could've nipped this bud issue when we had the chance.
7 years later now he became too strong for any Mage to stop him. Mind control, temporal manipulation, spatial and even Magic itself be useless.
To think August would detect his ever-growing power. It was a fleeting feeling… now it came to bite us.
Yet Zeref thinks he has a goal in mind to stop him till Chronos said otherwise. God Serena made the reports and claims from the Grand Magic Games.
He is too powerful for us to be on equal footing. He wiped out a whole city bigger than Vistarion nay the whole Alvarez Empire would be wiped out if he ever so chooses to.
Beings with that amount of power at his fingertips could claim the world if he ever so wanted. In the end, we can only endure that's what people with power would do.
It's in history –
That was when Silva laughed loudly as if finding a very funny joke causing me to freeze in place at his words, "Hahahaha!! Sorry, but I couldn't help but overview your thoughts thinking I'm like those megalomaniacs doing as they please with their power. It's funny but you are also dead wrong about me."
I could only gulp waiting for my end as he walked past me replying causing me to shiver as he spoke in a calm tone, "The only reason I ever got so strong to begin with is all for one purpose. I would humbly enjoy my life normally with some fun. Not to rule the world nor subjugate anyone… but… those that try to go after my friends or loved ones…"
*BOOOM*
Sweated drenched my body as did the other Spriggan 12 under his Magic, Spirit… and Cursed Pressure…!!
That was when a new sensation of fear washed over the majority of us as he coldly replied, "They won't get any mercy from me. And Acnologia is in my WAY for a normal life… but I relent."
Ending his pressure he sighed tapping my shoulder causing me to do a double take processing his words with an embarrassed grin on his face, "And besides… I'm kind of marrying your daughter and it would be very awkward if I killed you without at least attending my wife's wedding ahem…!"
… What…?
I glared intently grabbing the bastard by the color a sensation of maternal instincts overriding my fear glaring daggers at him, "I'm sorry but you said what about my daughter getting married to –"
That was when I froze backing off realizing I might have dug my own grave till I heard the man laughing at my reaction, "Now that's the reaction I was hoping to get step-mother-in-law. Yeah…, I might have some explaining to do. But now then…"
He soon turned his attention towards August as he remained calm as our leader proclaimed stroking his beard replied, "You despite your actions those two were my teammates. Yet I know I cannot smite you for their sake but your demonstration of power young man neither wanted to harm me truly nor Brandish?"
He smirked at this scratching the back of his head and replying sheepishly with the Spriggan 12 taking care stances away from him, "Ah… well those two kinds of had it coming. Invel in self-defense trying to attack my life restricting my will. And God Serena is a traitor and made me angry with his claims. As for not harming you… well… would be the son of Mavis Vermillion my mentor didn't taste – ah! Don't yell at me, Mavis!!"
My eyes widen at this.
So did August once the words processed through his head while every one of us was wary of the conversation that Silva was having with Mavis despite us not seeing her, "What was I supposed to say hey Mavis-Sensei you have a son did – oh I know I just figured it just meeting the guy! You can blame my magic all you want identifying someone oh I know! On a technicality, you can allow him to see you by temporarily bestowing him the rights of Fairy Tail members being temporary. How should I know you created your spell… yeah, yeah I get it."
I'm… thoroughly confused about what's going on…

~August POV~
Staring at the man in disbelief from what I was hearing I was doubtful of his actions or his rational mind till he came closer to me stamping my arm as he spoke in a chipper tone, "There! You are now a temporary member of the Fairy Tail Guild. I'll leave you two alone while I have Irene here show me to where the mean old dick wizard is located."
With that in mind, I soon saw what he meant as the rest of the Spriggan 12 left observing Silva's actions.
But I was made to stay viewing my mother for the first time in probably years as she fidgeted her fingers.
There was a silence between us. That much was made obvious.
Seems to me my mother wished to speak but couldn't put her gaze at me as I began conversations with her, "So… you are my mother Mavis Vermillion is that correct?"
Stroking my beard lightly Mother took a deep breath finally responding to me in a nervous tone, "Sigh… if what Silva said is true then yes. I… I never realized I had a son before… nor have I been aware of having one…"
I nodded in understanding. It wasn't like she couldn't remember me because she couldn't. It was because, at the time of my birth, my Magic Power frightened Hades to abandon me.
And frankly, I can't come to blame him in the past. I was an unusual anomaly in the Magic world. But it was because of his actions at the time I was found by my father.
Alas, my attention soon returns to Mavis as she tries to hug me but fails phasing through tears streaming down her face, "This is unfair… to know that I have kin of my own. Regardless of where you came from I can't even comfort you or give you a motherly hug… I'm a failure of a mother…"
My eyes widen a bit surprised by her action. I knew that Zeref mentioned how kind-hearted my mother was even in her state would care for me.
… Feeling curious I asked getting her attention of an internal problem of mine getting her attention, "In that case… if you feel that much of you owe me. Then can you answer me a simple question?"
That seemed to confuse her before shaking her head feeling determined with my task, "Yes! If there is anything I can do for my son, then I will do it! I must make up for everything and miss birthdays!! Umu!"
In that case, I responded in a neutral tone getting her immediate attention, "Would you say one where Justice lies in the world of Magic?"
She paused pondering my question. But it didn't last long as she answered surprising me with her answer, "Then I would say this. There is no good or evil in light, or darkness. It does not exist. If there is justice in this world, it may well lie in love, and naught else. So long as you have others with you then you shall express your love and kindness to those you trust and be happy with together with people you love."
My eyes widened as tears formed smiling at her answer. Yes, I suppose she is my mother in that regard.
Like that, we spent our time getting to know each other. And from my mother's words, both will soon be free from their curse. That surprised.
Her news of being released from their curse I couldn't help but utter in shock, "Is that true? Do you think your student could pull that off?"
I asked personally unsure why she would trust that much in the kid. Granted I haven't known him as much as she has but surely, she has to be jesting?
I mean to overturn the power of the god of Life and Death would mean one would surpass that concept entirely or overpower them in essence of Magic Power.
Which is impossible. Life and Death have always been around since the beginning of the world to overpower it one would need to be just as old as God or… be a natural counter against it.
However, my mother had this smile on her face replying as we walked around the Capital, "It's alright. From my personal experience with Silva when he has a way to do the impossible, he'll accomplish it 100% at a time. If he has something to free us, then I'll take it. It's better than nothing right?"
I suppose that's true. If he's able to I would be glad and if not, then at least I have something to do in the future to ensure my parent's freedom. But for now, I should enjoy what little time I have left with my mother before her timely departure.
