Fairy Tail: Kyoka Suigetsu

Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Damn Gildarts!

Damn Gildarts!

On our way back, Cana and I didn't say a word to each other. She just killed someone and needed time to adjust, so I let her be for the time being. We just walked side by side. Then, I suddenly felt a magic fluctuation below my feet. I instinctively grabbed and hugged Cana, which shocked her, before jumping off our previous location.

Bam!

There's a loud explosion, and a deep pit about 10 meters appears. If I hadn't successfully managed to grab Cana on time, she might be seriously injured or perhaps dead, leaving no trace behind.

I landed in a safe location and looked in the direction where I sensed a trace of spatial magic. I have mastered space and time magic, but my usage has been restricted. In other words, my ability, which is similar to Marin Hollow's that nullifies space magic, has been disabled.

At best, I can only teleport objects inside like requip magic and drag someone or everyone through space by using Tsukuyomi as for exit its the same place as where I abducted them, but meeting those conditions was strict. Although I gained some immunity to spatial magic and time stop, my usage was somewhat limited. Besides, if I used Tsukuyomi on someone with space magic ability, they could tell I isolated them, and without the ability to nullify space magic, they can simply head out, rendering my Tsukuyomi useless.

So basically, to nullify my Tsukuyomi, other than touching me directly for space magic users, they can simply get out of my space. As for other mages, they can still use their power; it's just they were unaware.

Why is my Kyoka Suigetsu ineffective?

Don't get the wrong idea; it's effective. Just the condition for activating it in Tsukuyomi is for them to be trapped inside my space. Which is also similar to Sharingan, they needed to look at me first. In other words, if they weren't looking at me, then I couldn't activate my Tsukuyomi either.

A figure in a black robe appears in the direction I'm currently looking at. She looked at me with a smirk on her face and said,. "You dodged that? You are quite good."

She's looking at me, wondering why Tsukuyomi is still ineffective. No, it requires focus.

I didn't respond to her knowing that my Tsukuyomi is useless; I activate my Kyoka Suigetsu.

Creating an illusion of me attacking her. That's the plan; I will take advantage of that moment and put Cana at a safe distance. But to my surprise, she didn't move at all and instead laughed at me. "Hehehe, I guess it doesn't work?"

I narrow my eyes slightly at her and already guess what's going on. 'This woman is a perfect counter against me... Capable of using space magic, blind, and even could detect magic power.' I'm confident in suppressing my magic when I'm using Kyoka Suigetsu; after all, no matter how well you trick someone, if they have incredibly high perception in magic, they will notice your presence. Even Gildarts, he is powerless against me. But this woman... It far surpassed my expectations.

'To encounter a person that can counter against your abilities?' What a twist of fate. I sigh helplessly and glance at Cana.

Without a doubt, something has changed inside me. Perhaps because I have never experienced genuine love that I'm longing for it? I don't know; all I know is I swear to not become naive like those protagonists.

I could abandon Cana here and let her get abducted, but it's unrealistic; she can just snatch Can and retreat to a safe place.

'This is the reason why I wanted the rules of the area so badly...' It's annoying to deal with spatial users, although it's fun when you are the one using it.

Unknowingly, a bitter smile appears on my face; no one knows it, even myself. After all, it's hidden behind mist and mask. 'I guess this is also part of my growth as an individual?' While I'm in deep thought, the woman suddenly disappears again. I'm more or less familiar with her ability; it's bomb.

I feel like fighting an MILF (terrorist group), although I wanted to fight a different one. Then she reappears about 20 meters away from me and throws a numerous small rocks.

'S-H-I-T!'

I think it's pointless to run around; instead, I decided to tank the damage. I turned my back towards the falling bombs and covered Cana, protecting her using my body.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

You might be thinking, why not use Tsukuyomi on Cana? Haven't I told you that already? The consumption is incredibly high; besides, I can only trap us at 20 seconds at best. While we can stay for 20 seconds, the woman can last longer, and on top of that, the difference in consumption is like heaven and Earth. Also, fellow space magic users can tell the details behind my magic once they are outside or inside. She can just plant a bomb and wait for us to get out.

I put that into consideration. That's the purpose of the rules of the area. Although it's only applicable in the world of Tsukuyomi. It still blocks the escape route of those with spatial magic. But I can't use it at the moment and perhaps never will be able to. After all, it's too strong. So the fact I have immunity to stopped time and spatial magic is reasonable since spatial users are rare.

As for whether my ability will work on Marin Hollow? No, his ability won't work on me; the same goes for mine. He nullifies spatial magic and imprisons them in his own space while I'm immune to spatial magic since imprisoning me requires spatial. Having said that, if he is nearby, I couldn't use Tsukuyomi either.

'Ugh...' I silently growl in pain while taking a good look at Cana. Sure enough, even she can't escape unscathed, but at least it's only minor injuries compared to me, who was fresh and torn. 'Certainly dealing with this kind of guy is annoying; I feel like having a taste of my own medicine. '

I let out a long sigh and still ask despite knowing she is not alright. "Are you okay?" Instead of answering, she just looked at me with sadness and hatred, perhaps feeling guilty for injuring myself in order to protect her and hatred towards herself for being weak. This is the type of thing I hate the most: I voluntarily tank the damage, and she shouldn't feel responsible for it. So I lightly smack her head.

"Idiot..." Then gently put her down.

'It's been a while since I used this technique...' I said to myself while looking at the woman from a distance. I realize something: she likes to play it safe. 'Birds of the same feather flock together, eh? '

I'm quite familiar with that strategy; she will move from one place to another; that's likely the result of her downfall.

I slightly stretch my left leg forward and lower my head as I grab the katana on my waist. This is the same stance (sword draw) I used to behead Gildarts before. I slowly close my eyes and feel the magic around me increasing my perception to the highest level possible.

Like I expected, she will jump from one place to another, positioning herself at a safe distance to throw bombs. I already predicted the best possible position and feel the mana disturbance in that direction.

Just before she appears, I draw my sword out of its scabbard.

"Universal Attack: Sword Draw"

I don't have a good name other than this, but at this moment, is a name truly important? I release my strongest attack at the same time she teleports, receiving my slash, perfectly cutting her off.

Boom!

There's a loud sound of explosion. However, it didn't come from the bombs but instead due to my sword ki. When I'm swinging my sword, the only thing that comes to my mind is Hawkeye's tempest-like attack, enough to cut down a whole ship, and he can spam it. I tried imitating the technique, but it's extremely difficult without proper guidance. I can only create cheap tricks based on my imagination; as a result, I came up with this. Although I'm a swordsman, I only know sword draw, which is extremely basic, but the power is enough to destroy a mountain.

"Not good; I just joined the Fairy Tail guild and am already wreaking havoc,"

I said out loud as I watched the headless body of the woman who gives me trouble fall on the ground.

Cana look at me in disbelief, she found it ridiculous that a sword can have same destructive power as Gildarts Crush.

Of course I'm far inferior compared to Gildarts; the only thing that stands out to me is Kyoka Suigetsu. Otherwise, other than sword draw and immunity to space and time magic, what else can I do?

I walk towards the corpse of the woman and take a good look at her face. As I suspected, she is blind, but her appearance is similar to what happened to Kagaya Ubuyashiki. "Looks like a curse?"

I store her dead body into my own space since I plan to observe it in the future. Perhaps, the curse might be related to her extremely high perception in magic.

Just when we are about to retreat I feel multiple presence nearby. It's the council without a doubt.I immediately hypnotized them. Making sure they see a figure of Gildarts retreating.

"Damn Gildarts!"

They swore to make him pay for it. President Makarov will probably realize it was my own doing but since there's no evidence and I put the blame on Gildarts there's nothing he can do besides...

I glance at Cana. "Let's head back now..." She just smile at me warmly and said. "Sure..."
