Fairy Tail: Metal and Threads

Earth Land, Ishgar, Kingdom of Fiore, Crocus. 

July 6, x791. 

While most of the audience has grown curious to know what Alfonzo was building, their attention was quickly drawn to the upcoming battle between Erza and Mirajane. Though it had never been confirmed, it was rumored that in the past, these two were considered to be rivals. 

"I hope you're ready, Red!" Mirajane, donning her [Satan Soul: Sitri Take Over], shouted as she closed in on Erza with the flames engulfing her legs propelling her forward. 

"I knew this day would come." Erza replied as she drew her [Soul Armament], Astraia, from her hip. "Now, let us put an end to this rivalry once and for all on this grand stage." 

"Just what I was thinking, too." Mirajane said as she drew near. Then, once she was close enough, she somersaulted forward. "Sitri Inferno]." 

With her legs wreathed in flames, Mirajane brought them down with all her might, her somersault adding extra force to her attack. Meanwhile, Erza was quickly covered in the light of her [Requip magic]. 

"[Requip: Flame Empress Armor]." Erza chanted as she raised Astraia to guard. 

*Boom!* 

Immediately afterwards, the collision between Mirajane's flaming heels and Erza's sword sounded throughout the area. At nearly the same time, the flames from Mirajane's attack spread in all directions while the impact caused the ground under Erza's feet to crater. 

Yet, even with the overwhelming force behind Mirajane's attack, she did not let up in the slightest. Instead, she flipped herself over, her head now facing towards Erza, who was standing amongst the conflagration with two swords, Astraia and the sword that came with the [Flame Empress Armor], held in an X-shape, and coated her hands n [Darkness Magic] as she began raining down punches. 

*Clang!* *Clang!* *Clang!* *Clang!* *Clang!* 

And with each of her magically enhanced punches, Mirajane increased the size of the crater while forcing Erza deeper and deeper into the ground. 

On top of that, because she was no longer defending against [Fire Magic], Erza was finding it harder and harder to keep up her defense. But that did not hinder Erza for long. 

"[Adamantine Armor]." Erza chanted as she was once again covered the light of her magic. 

In the next instant, Erza reappeared, this time wearing a bulky suit of blue and navy blue armor with a pair of shields held in her hands that she combined to defend against Mirajane's onslaught. 

"As expected, it would never be that easy." Mirajane said, a battle hungry grin spreading across her face. 

"Of course, it wouldn't." Erza replied, er expression solemn as she exerted force and pushed Mirajane up into the sky. "[Requip: Morning Star Armor]." 

After being forced upwards by Erza's supernatural strength that was enhanced by the [Adamantine Armor], using the flames coating her legs as propulsion, Mirajane was able to right herself. Then, she held her hands out towards Erza as she amassed [Darkness Magic] between her palms. 

At the same time, Erza was once again covered in the light of her [Requip Magic]. When the light faded, she was wearing yet another suit of armor. However, instead of being metallic like all the others, this one appeared to be made of a leather-like material consisting of a one-piece body suit that revealed her legs, feather-shaped shoulder pauldrons, a feather motif cape, and a feather-like cloth wrapped around her waist held up by a simple belt. 

Erza also wore heavily armored gauntlets on her arms, similarly armored greaves with large nee guards and high heels on her calves, fishnet leggings that covered all of her exposed legs, and she wielded a pair of swords that seemed to be blunt with cross-shaped handguards while her hair was styled into tangled buns on the top of her head. 

"[Evil Shower]." Mirajane chanted as an orb of [Darkness Magic] condensed between her palms. 

Erza, on the other hand, being familiar with Mirajane's magic, looked up when she heard the She-Devil's chant. Then, without hesitation, she pressed her swords together, both of their tips facing Mirajane as they began emitting light. 

"[Photon Slicer]." Erza chanted. 

In the next instant, Mirajane's orb of [Darkness Magic] began firing small orbs at Erza and the surrounding area. Meanwhile, a beam of condensed [Light Magic] was freed from the tips of Erza's swords. 

Unfortunately for Mirajane, even though she fired quite a few balls of [Darkness Magic], Erza's spell cut right through them while those that were unaffected collided with the ground around her. 

At the same time, while maintaining the spell, Mirajane flew away from where she was floating midair. Though, she did not let up on her spell, to evade the [Light Magic], which she was weak to whenever she used any of her [Satan Soul Take Overs]. Then, with a stunning display of aerial acrobatics, she continued to evade the beam of [Light Magic], which Erza kept up, while continuing to fire her [Evil Shower] spell. 

*Rumble!* *Crumble!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Rumble!* 

And while Mirajane avoided Erza's spell, the beam of [Light Magic] cut through the buildings she flew behind to block Erza's line of sight, causing many of them to collapse. At the same time, all the balls of [Darkness Magic] Mirajane fired impacted the street and buildings around Erza, destroying much of the area. 

'This isn't working.' Erza and Mirajane thought simultaneously. 

*Flash!* 

Just after both combatants had that thought, Erza was the first to change her strategy. Emitting as much light as she could from all over her armor, she washed the area in a bright light. And that naturally affected Mirajane, who was forced to close her eyes due to the brightness. 

In the next instant, though she was still unable to see, Mirajane stopped her [Darkness Magic] barrage, turned around, and raised her arms to defend., [Darkness Magic] coating her raised arms for added defense. 

*Bang!* 

*Boom!* 

Then, with great force, Mirajane was sent flying towards the ground, crashing through two buildings before slamming into it and kicking up a cloud of dust and debris. 

At the same time, the bright light faded. And when it did, Erza could be seen floating where Mirajane used to be, now donning her [Black Wing Armor] with a pair of swords in her hands. 

"As expected, even though she could not see me, she knew I was coming." Erza said as she spread the wings on her armor and dove towards Mirajane's landing point. "And I know that was not enough to defeat her." 

And just as Erza said, Mirajane was standing up as Erza approached while shaking the numb feeling out of her arms. She then looked up at Erza who was channeling magic power into both swords and her armor. 

"Fine, if you want to fight with swords, I'll show you what I've learned over the years." Mirajane said, her battle thirsty smile still present on her face. "[Take Over: Satan Soul Gilgamesh]." 

In the next instant, Mirajane's form changed after a flash of light. Now, she stood at the ready with a red, single-edged sword with a hooked blade in her left hand, a blue, single-edged sword with a hook at its tip in her left hand, four more swords of different shapes and sizes sheathed on her hips, and a suit of revealing golden armor adorning her body. 

Mirajane then took a step forward before performing a cartwheel, a backhand spring, and a somersault with a twist in midair. Meanwhile, Erza increased her speed as she approached. 

"[Black Wing: Moon Flash]." Erza chanted as she swung her swords in an X-shape. 

"[Spiral Cut]." Mirajane chanted as she turned and brought her swords down. 

*Clang~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!* 

The two women then met in midair, their blades colliding so forcefully that they dislodged quite a bit of the rubble surrounding them as they passed by each other, both eventually falling to the ground before turning around to face each other once again. 

"[Requip: Flight Armor]." Erza chanted as soon as her feet touched the ground. 

In the next instant, Erza's armor set changed once again. However, this set had very little in terms of armored parts. The breastplate appeared to be a tight, form-fitting cheetah-print tankini with fur lining the lower hem with a large amount of cleavage on display, a pair of tight, black hot pants with fur lining, a belt that held a cloth over her left leg, and armored gauntlets and grieves with cheetah ears on her head. She also held a pair of swords in her hands. 

Though, the name of this armor was quite deceiving, as it did not grant Erza the ability to fly, it did increase her speed to an absurd degree. 

*Cheer~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!* 

Meanwhile, after seeing both Erza and Mirajane in such revealing attire, the crowd, mostly men, could not help but cheer loudly. 

"[Flight: Sonic Claw]." Erza chanted as she vanished from where she stood in a burst of speed. 

"[Slice and Dice]." Mirajane, also vanishing in a burst of speed, chanted simultaneously. 

*Clang!* *Clang!* *Clang!* *Clang!* *Clang!* 

Then, at a speed too fast for the naked eye, the two proud Fairy Tail wizards engaged in a sword fight that very few in the audience could follow. However, the marks of destruction they left behind made it clear that they were both giving it all they had. 

Meanwhile, in the rest of the Hargeon recreation, the other wizards participating in the Grand Magic Game could feel the fluctuations from the battle between Erza and Mirajane. And although they could tell a battle was going on, the power they could feel from that direction was more than they were willing to get involved in. 

Well, that was not completely true. There was one wizard making her way towards the fight with a smile on her face. 

"Oh, those two have grown so much since they joined the guild." Ur said as she jumped from building to building with her hands in her pockets. "Even without using [Magic Power Detection], I would be able to feel them from anywhere in the town. But I wonder if they've grown enough to put up a fight against me." 

Then, after speaking that thought aloud, Ur sped up her pace as she quickly approached the area that was destroyed during Erza and Mirajane's battle. However, before she could close the distance by too much… 

"Unison Raid: Shotgun]." The voices of a man and woman said in unison. 

… a volley of thick, sharp ice spears approached from the street below, destroying the building Ur was running across as they hurdled towards her. 

"I didn't think you'd challenge me during this game, Gray." Ur said as she unraveled Artemesia from around her leg and lashed out at the ice spears wile coating the whip in ice. "Honestly, I thought you would have learned your lesson after that last training session with Lyon." 

*Shatter!* *Shatter!* *Shatter!* *Shatter!* *Shatter!* 

Meanwhile, just as Ur said, Gray was standing on the street below in his casting posture. However, he was not alone, as Juvia was standing with him, her hands laid atop his fist while they both stared at Ur with determined expressions. 

"Ha! Just because I lost last time, you thought that I wouldn't challenge you again, Master?" Gray asked in a solemn tone. "Just what kind of Fairy Tail wizard do you take me for?" 

"Plus, Gray isn't alone this time." Juvia added, her tone just as solemn. "This time, Juvia is with him. And together, there is nothing that our love cannot overcome." 

As the two spoke, gravity pulled Ur towards the ground. However, just before her feet could touch the street, Gray and Juvia both slammed their hands onto the street. 

"[Unison Raid: Water and Ice-Make Spears]." Gray and Juvia chanted in unison. 

Then, just as Ur's feet touched the ground, a foot high layer of water spread across the street from where Gray's and Juvia's hands were in contact with the ground. A moment later, water spikes shot up from the surface of the water, all aimed at Ur. And as they approached, each spear began to freeze from the tip, raising the power of the spell exponentially. 

"Not bad." Ur said casually as she made the [Ice-Make] casting gesture. "But how long can the two of you keep this up? Using [Unison Raids] takes a lot more magic power than just casting normal spells, after all. [Ice-Make: Dahlias]." 

In the next instant, the unfrozen water pooling around Ur froze. As it did, it shot up around her, creating a defensive wall that took the form of dahlia flowers that blocked all the incoming ice spears. 

"We'll just have to see." Gray replied without changing his expression. 

"[Unison Raid: Ice Wave]." Gray and Juvia once again chanted in unison. 

This time, even more water was created around the two. However, instead of just covering the ground, a large tidal wave was created. And as it rushed towards Ur, it began to freeze. However, instead of just creating a large wall of ice that was hurdling towards Ur, the front of the wave began sprouting spikes. At the same time, it destroyed all the buildings that was in its path. 

However, wen Ur saw the incoming wave of ice, she did not panic. Though, her eyebrows did start to twitch. The sight of this spell made Ur remember a quest report she received from Team Natsu back when she was the guild master. More than that, it made her remember the reflection letter she had to right because of the destruction it brought along with it in a small town near the coast. 

"Do you know just how long the letter I had to write to apologize was for the damage you two caused the last time you two used this spell?" Ur asked in an irritated tone. Yet, you dare to use it against me?" 

With that, Ur flared her magic power to its limit, causing the temperature in the whole of the Domus Flau to drop by a few degrees. Then, she made her casting gesture once again. 

"[Ice-Make: Diamond Dust]." Ur canted angrily. 

In the next instant, the entire street was frozen over. And that included all the buildings, the water that was still unfrozen on the street, and even all the ice constructs created with Gray's and Ur's magic. Even the giant [Ice Wave] that had been bearing down on Ur. 

However, the freezing effect was not limited to just the block where the battle was taking place. Instead, it was meant quite literally. The entire street, stretching from one side of the town to the other was completely frozen over. And any wizards unfortunate enough to be crossing the street, or fighting on the street in Erza and Mirajane's case, were frozen over with it. 

*Snap!* 

Then, with a snap of Ur's fingers, all the ice behind her broke down into small shards of ice before they were sent flying in Gray and Juvia's direction, bulldozing everything on the street as they followed the rest of the ice path towards the end of the street. 

At the same time, all the spectators watching the event through the lacrima-Vision screens fell silent after seeing the type of destruction Ur was capable of. On top of that, they were amazed by just how many wizards her spell managed to eliminate. 

{"Gray Fullbuster, Juvia Lockser, and Erza Scarlet of Fairy Tail Team C. Mirajane Strauss and Fried Justine of Fairy Tail Team B. Lastly, Ichiya Vandalay Kotobuki of Blue Pegasus."} Lola said in a dumbfounded tone after seeing just what Ur was capable of. {"Tse are all the combatants who were just eliminated by Ur's last spell."} 

{"It was truly an amazing display of magical power."} Yajima said while shaking his head. 

{"Yes, it was."} Arcadios added. {"But it's just as worrying. What if she were to use a spell like that in a more populated area? The losses would be catastrophic."} 

{"I agree."} Yajima replied. {"Luckily, there are many safety protocols in place during his event. Otherwise, there would have been quite a few serious injuries that occurred because of that attack."} 

Meanwhile, Ur stood amongst the ice rubble her spell created while scratching her head with an embarrassed expression on her face. 

"I think I overdid it a little." Ur said to herself quietly. "I hope no one got too hurt from that." 

After saying that, Ur shrugged her shoulders. Then, she started walking towards the nearest wizard. 

"Well, I guess I'll just have to try to keep my anger in check next time." Ur said as she started picking up the pace.
