Fairy Tale: With Sin Of Pride

Chapter 141: Chapter 125: The Fall of a Kingdom

The Federal Alliance's strength was formidable in numbers but lacking in high-tier combatants. Aside from Rhodes and the Dwarf King, no one had reached legendary status. This glaring weakness wasn't lost on Rhodes. He realized the necessity of recruiting powerful magicians from outside to bolster their ranks.

Surveying the remaining magicians who had pledged their lives for their kingdom, Rhodes nodded solemnly. "Your unwavering devotion to your nation is commendable. In such a harsh and chaotic world, you are figures to be admired. That said..."

His voice trailed off as his body began to undergo a startling transformation. His muscles swelled with unbridled power, radiating a crushing aura. A ghostly blade materialized in his hand, its edge gleaming ominously.

"I will grant you a burial worthy of your loyalty," Rhodes declared. He raised the ghostly sword, preparing to strike, when one of the magicians, overcome with terror, cried out, "Wait! I—"

Before the plea could finish, Rhodes swung the blade. A golden arc of light slashed through the air, leaving blood and carnage in its wake. The mage's body crumpled to the ground, lifeless.

The remaining magicians froze, their courage shattered by Rhodes' display of power. Only four stood their ground—three alive and one cleaved in two on the ground.

Rhodes' gaze fell upon the Frost Magician and Kentai Li, his tone icy. "You two. Make your choice."

The pair exchanged a knowing glance. Their decision was swift and merciless as they moved toward their remaining comrades. Survival demanded a price, and they were willing to pay it.

With the magicians dealt with, the Dwarf King exhaled in relief. "Six legendary magicians, all eliminated in a single move. I now understand what it means to stand before a god. My strength pales in comparison to yours, Rhodes."

Rhodes turned to him, his voice steady but firm. "Take over the Kingdom of Weston. Annex their lands into our territory. If they were arrogant enough to challenge us, let them face the consequences."

"Yes, my lord," the Dwarf King replied, bowing. He departed to assemble a force to claim the newly conquered lands. But he knew the task would be straightforward. With Rhodes present, no resistance would stand for long.

News of the Kingdom of Weston's destruction spread like wildfire, starting in a humble village tavern. The once-rowdy establishment buzzed with disbelief and astonishment.

"Is it true? Weston, annihilated in a single day?"

"Absolutely! Six legendary magicians, two demigods—they were all wiped out in an instant!"

"Amazing... I heard there was a giant, radiating god-like power, who obliterated the city with a single blow."

"Impossible! Even a demigod couldn't manage that!"

"Demigod? You're mistaken. This wasn't the work of any demigod—it was a god, pure and simple."

The tavern's atmosphere crackled with heated debate. Some doubted the truth of the reports, but the whispers of such a feat quickly drowned out skepticism.

Seated quietly in a corner was Lorria, sipping his drink with an air of indifference. He knew the truth but had no intention of joining the chaos around him. Some knowledge was better kept unsaid.

A sharp voice interrupted the tavern's din. "Lorria, is it?"

The room fell silent as a tall figure stepped inside. The newcomer exuded authority, his presence sending shivers through those gathered.

The man approached Lorria's table and leaned in. "I hear you have ties to the Federation. Do you know anything about the fall of Weston?"

Lorria's expression remained placid as he shook his head. "I'm just a wanderer. I wouldn't dare involve myself in matters concerning the gods."

The man scrutinized Lorria for a moment before nodding. "Very well. But if you ever need assistance, don't hesitate to find me."

He turned and left without another word. Nearby, Rad, the man's younger brother, scowled in frustration. "Brother, that man clearly knows something! Why let him off so easily? Cast him out and let him fend for himself!"

Rad's elder brother, Coder, narrowed his eyes at him. "Do not be hasty. A wanderer without allies has no future. Expelling him would only ensure his death, and we would gain nothing."

The tavern slowly returned to its usual activity, though the tension lingered. Lorria remained silent, his calm demeanor masking the storm of thoughts within. Somewhere deep inside, he knew that the events unfolding would reshape the continent forever.
