Fakes Don’t Want To Be Real

Chapter 113

FAKES DON’T WANT TO BE REAL~ Chapter 113 ~ Verndia recited the families who received the power of God. “Silkisia, Lestir, Evergreen, and Stella.”“Eternal life? Evergreen’s power is capable of granting eternal life, but the rest of the family doesn’t have that.”“That’s all it says, so I don’t know. Anyway, here’s what the next verse says.”「 The first emperor was especially envious of Silkisia, who was closest with us.Unfortunately, Silkisia didn’t see through and learned black magic for him,In hopes that if she combines it with her current power, she could grant him eternal life. But it failed…. 」“As such, Silkisia died. It was also the very reason why I killed the Emperor.”“What?” Psychke froze at the sudden words. “Was that a record of the first Lestir? Lestir killed the first emperor?”“That’s right.” Verndia affirmed nonchalantly. “And then this.”「 Yet he was alive,Either I don’t know why; but certainly, the Emperor was alive. 」  “These were all of the relevant records we have. After all, all I could do was long for Silkisia.”“You’re telling me this because… Duke, do you think the first Emperor was still alive?”“Yes. In addition to that-” They reached the end of the library. Then Verndia began to press the hand that wasn’t holding her against the blank wall with his powers. “It seems to me that the current emperor is the first emperor. I prospected that the first emperor is the current one right now.”“I see.”“Other than that, it doesn’t explain how the Emperor knew about the power of the First Silkisia.” Verndia frowned, noting that the records of the first Lestir didn’t mention the nature of Silkisia’s powers either. After a moment of silence, Psychke spoke up. “Could he have possibly seen records of such?”“The First Emperor was said to be incredibly obsessed with Silkisia. Would such a man have written down such secrets, for the future generation to see? I don’t think so.” With that, Verndia let go of the brick. Once a soft this resonated, something collapsed then the bricks he had pressed were pushed back further. The hole itself created a bigger opening for them. Briefly after, a dark corridor with black carpet revealed itself. At first glance, it resembled the library they had just walked through, but the walls here were lined with violet torches at same intervals.Between them hung portraits of all the Lestirs who had ever lived. Verndia gently nudged a hesitant Psychke and led her inside. “Each flame represents Lestir next to it.”

“A flame that never goes out.”“Even so, I feel bad about it.” He continued, a hint of mischief in his voice. “If the current emperor is the first emperor, and the princess is the first Silkisia, why do I have nothing?” Psychke blinked, not quite comprehending his words. Due to her bewilderment, no words could be said to him. “I’m just saying that I’ve been researching whether I’m the reincarnation of the first Lestir.” Psychke looked at him, a little incredulous. Then her eyes pleaded with him to ask, so she reluctantly did. “Did you find anything?” Verndia gave an odd smile, then raised his hand and pointed to a portrait at the far end of the hall. “Look at this, Princess.” Soon they were at the end of the hall. “Doesn’t she look like me?” Psychke’s head whipped around. For a while, she scanned Verndia and the portrait alternately. “… Mmm.” She felt apologetic but she also couldn’t afford to tell a lie saying they had a resemblance. Aside from the fact that their eye and hair colors were similar, they weren’t similar. Furthermore, the man in the portrait appeared to have never smiled in his entire life, unlike Verndia who could show a laugh and smile at anything. He also had a different demeanor, where Verndia was a ferociously handsome man, the portrait was a coldly handsome man.Psychke said bluntly. “You two don’t look alike.”“Really?”“Yes.”“You’re sure it doesn’t look like me?”“Yes…”“Princess, who do you think is better between us?”“The Duke.” At the thoughtless answer, his annoyance at the lack of resemblance to the portrait vanished. He whirled around and shoved his hand into the torch hanging next to the invitation portrait. “Duke!” Psychke’s voice rose high, flustered by the unexpected behavior. Just because he is a powerful Duke doesn’t mean he can’t get burned by the torch. This was the first Lestir torch, at that! “It’s okay.” He pulled something small and round from the torch with a nonchalant face. “The spark of the torch was similar to mine. Thus, I don’t get burned or anything. Ah, Princess, try it.”“Ah…?”“Louder.”“Ah-” Verndia popped something from the torch into her mouth. It felt like candy on her tongue. It was lukewarm, not as if it had just been pulled from the fire. It also wasn’t sweet. “What is this?”“Swallow it and I’ll tell you. It’s not poison, so you can eat it.” Despite not knowing what it was, she did as she was told. Then the lukewarm liquid turned into a fireball the moment it went down her throat. She coughed involuntarily, but nothing came out once it was down. Meanwhile, Verndia had swallowed the same thing he had given Psychke.Unlike Psychke’s struggle, his expression didn’t change. “I discovered this in the records of the first Lestir which he left for the future generation. He said if someone from Silkisia came to me and acted strangely, I can use it to them.”“What is this, cough, what is it?”“It’s about sharing a curse.”“What?” Share what? Psychke was stunned then she spit out her blood, but Verndia grabbed her wrist to stop her. “I told you I’d hold you. Although I didn’t get a kiss.”“No matter what, it’s not like we need to share a curse!”“To catch a ghost, I have to become one with you.” Maybe there was something more to her inability to use her power, her eye phobia, and even her brainwashing. Something that has yet to be revealed. She shook her hand away forcefully, drawing on my mana in impatience, but Verndia was serious. “I wonder if the first Lestir didn’t do a good job.” He, too, drew up his mana and persuaded Psychke. “Look, it’s working.” He formed butterflies out of his violet flames and sent them flying around Psychke. “From the looks of it, I don’t think I’ve shared it with anyone but you, so don’t worry.” Her mind became agitated as if she had swallowed a tangled strand of thread rather than candy. Psychke bit her lip and looked down at her feet. If she had known this was the effect, she would not have eaten it. “I thought you wouldn’t eat it if I told you.”“….”“Princess, look at me. Hm?” The emotion radiating from the ring was strange. He knew she’d be upset, but he didn’t expect her to be this angry. Verndia fidgeted, wondering if this was going to last forever. Then he clasped his hands together and fell to his knees. “I’m sorry.”“Get up.” Psychke, flustered because this was the first time she’d ever seen him look up at her like this, tried to help him to his feet. However, instead, he bowed his head deeply. “I’m sorry, I was being a jerk.”“Get up.”“I won’t promise this will never happen in the future. I’d give up anything but this. So, can’t you just look at me?” He, the duke of this empire, looks up at her mournfully. No matter how hard she tries, she can’t help him get up, so Psychke finally follows him to his knees. “I can’t.”“Only once. No, three times.”“I don’t want to.”“Then I won’t either.” He said it so sweetly, their lips almost touching. But Psychke pulled away from him. “Look at me, please?”“I don’t want-” She shifted her eyes from him. “Look at me.”“I can’t.” Again, she didn’t look. “Just look at me.”“…” She didn’t. “Hmm? Please.” She pulled away from him and glared at his lips that kept saying the same thing. And in that look, Verndia realized her anger had dissipated. “I didn’t ask you to look at my lips. Was that what you wanted to do, kiss me?”“No, it’s not that, it’s that the Duke keeps-” She looked away. “You should have said something.”“I’m not mad at you yet-” Psychke shifted her eyes. “I’ll do my best to make it up to you.”“Enough-” Fwip! “I’ll do anything to make you satisfied.” Fwip! His grip on her hand tightened so that she couldn’t afford to look away. And just like that, Psychke received his kisses until she fell on her knees. She became numb as their blood rushed within them. ***That night, Verndia succeeded in going out of his real body with Psychke. A voice from a distance kept calling out ‘Silkisia’ and he knew where Psychke was with that notion. Now all he had to do was get there. ‘Kill me…’ What kind of phenomenon is this? He stumbled as he walked forward with his throbbing forehead. ‘Was it repeating?’ Suddenly, the surroundings around him had changed. In the changed scenery, he was kneeling in the snow, hugging a woman covered in blood.
