Chapter 13: Jarilo-VI 2

"Alright, alright, I yield!" The mysterious man jumped out as the silver flames began to surround the snow pile he was hiding behind. He had dark blue hair and mint green eyes, wearing an outfit that looked a bit too flashy for a bandit.

"Tsk!" Austin clicked his tongue in disappointment, gathering the silver flame back into his palm and making it disappear.

"Come on, there's no need for you guys to go this far. Just hiding in the snow pile, and you're going to burn it down?" The mysterious man pretended to joke, but when he scanned the eyes of everyone in front of him, he couldn't help but lose his composure.

"Ah... but we can't blame the heroes either. *Haha.* I just happened to show up and make a sound myself. *Haha.*" He laughed dryly to cover it up, but it seemed like each member of the express crew didn't find it very funny.

"By the way, did Captain Gepard come along? I know him very well."

"Who-"

"Not coming, just what you see here." Austin quickly interrupted March before she could ask the other person who they were referring to.

"What the... wait a minute, aren't you guys wearing the Silvermane uniforms?" Why didn't I notice it from the beginning? So it turns out you're all in the same group. There's no need to fight among yourselves! Nice to meet you. I'm Sampo Koski."

The mysterious man introduced himself, and out of courtesy, Austin extended his hand for a handshake, as was his habit.

"I'm Austin Lionheart; just call me Austin. To my left are Dan Heng and Stelle. And her are March."

"Okay, okay, I'll remember that~, to be honest, I never thought I'd meet a colleague on a snow-covered planet like this. Business ventures never really worked out. This Sampo isn't the type to hoard all the good stuff for himself; out there there are treasures galore. Let's all get rich together, everyone! *Haha*."

After everyone introduced themselves, both the express crew and Sampo seemed to relax more. The atmosphere of the conversation no longer felt as heavy as when they first met.

'Did he just say that colleagues on a snow-covered planet like this?'

Austin squinted slightly, using his eyes to observe and assess the other party meticulously until he found the answer. However, he chose not to say anything at that moment and let Sampo elaborate on his own story.

"So, what do you think? Interested? This is the perfect opportunity to make a handsome profit while the Silvermane guards are away~"

"And where did all the people here go?" Austin asked, interrupting Sampo as if he hadn't heard what the other person was saying at all.

"Huh, where else could it be? It has to be Belobog, of course. That's the only place on this planet where people live. If you go outside, don't even mention seeing people; just encountering real living beings other than monsters would be considered lucky." Sampo, seeing that Austin was about to let his guard down, answered the question without thinking much.

"Then why were you going to hide in the snow just now?" Austin continued to ask.

"Well, I was happily looking for relics to sell, and then you guys showed up in a bunch. Of course, I was startled. I thought it was the Silvermane guards; I was scared to death."

"If you're that worried..." Austin turned to the three people behind.

"Dan Heng, please take March and Stelle around," Austin said while subtly signaling for the three of them to leave first.

Dan Heng, seeing the signal, nodded without saying anything and pulled March, who wanted to continue talking, out with Stelle. Once the three of them had left, Austin turned back to Sampo before creating a barrier of energy around the two of them.

"Alright, now it's just us left. I'll be straightforward, Mask Fool."

"Ugh*... What is it, Masked Brother? What's the name of the band?" Sampo tried to act oblivious and deflect, but when he saw Austin's serious, teasing gaze, he sighed and shook his head helplessly.

"Hey, hey, how did this happen... No one has ever noticed before. Is it really that obvious?"

"You should already know who we are, right?" Austin didn't answer and instead countered with his own question.

"Of course, who wouldn't recognize the ticket on your clothes? This is the first time I've ever seen the nameless in person."

"From what we talked about earlier, it seems like you're acting like a native of this planet, right? What's the reason? As far as I remember, Mask Full doesn't usually stay on any planet for long."

"err....thing is a bit...complicate"

Austin saw Sampo's demeanor and let out a small sigh before nodding, understanding his situation.

"Alright, alright, I won't ask anymore. I won't tell those three about your matter either. Let's consider it a favor since you gave us the information. In exchange, if you could listen to one of my small requests from now on, how about that? Deal?"

"Alright, alright, brother. Thank you; from now on, I'll upgrade you to my VIP customer."

Sam held both of Austin's hands, raising and lowering them, thanking the other party with immense relief.

"and what would my VIP customer request be...?"

"Not yet; when I want to use it, I'll let you know later. Don't worry, I won't make you do anything beyond your strength."

Austin smirked slightly, as was his style, responding to the other party while pulling his hand back and tightening his gloves.

"What... like that..." Sam hesitated slightly because he couldn't figure out what the other person was thinking.

"What? No? Is that okay? I don't mind, but they might." Austin pointed his thumb behind him, where Dan Heng was walking back with March and Stelle. "Take your time; I don't mind."

"*Ugh.* If that's the case, as long as it's not about money, that's fine." Sampo agreed but still accepted the deal.

Austin heard it and smirked slightly, then dispelled the barrier he had used to block the sound.

"There's nothing around except for monsters; I don't think anyone is nearby," Dan Heng reported upon returning.

"thank you very much, Dan Heng. Then, could you please guide us back to the city? We don't really know the way around here."

Austin turned to respond to Dan Heng before turning back to Sampo, who was confidently standing with hands on hips and a proud expression.

"Trust me, since you're meeting friends from abroad, you definitely need a professional guide like me!"

Then the five of them walked along the path that Sampo led. Along the way, they chatted about various things, including Belobog, the Silvermane troops, and other topics, including the current situation of Jarilo-VI.

"I saw you interrupt March back there. I thought you wanted to cover up the fact that we're anonymous visitors to the locals," Dan Heng, who was walking next to Austin, remarked when he interrupted March just as Sampo had emerged from the snowdrift.

"Yeah, I was so shocked that I didn't dare to interrupt. I was afraid I might say something inappropriate!" March added.

"Ah... I'm sorry. I did it without thinking at that time. You could say it's an old habit of mine, but we don't need to hide anything. Even though the idea of visitors from Earth might sound incredible to people from some planets, this place has been explored before, so it's nothing." Austin explained his actions while slightly bowing his head to apologize to March.

The five continued walking, but then they encountered a group of several men in dark blue uniforms standing with weapons blocking their way.

"The Silvermane guards?" Austin asked casually.

"The Silvermane guards," Sampo replied with a gloomy expression, "Brother, please help me. I don't want to get caught yet."

"And what have you been doing-"

"Suspects and accomplices have been found. Immediate arrest is underway." Before Austin could finish asking how Sam got himself into this mess, the military already suspected him of being an accomplice.

A troop of armed soldiers, resembling halberd-wielding men, ran straight towards the express convoy. It was then that Austin realized Sampo had disappeared without a trace.

"If you don't run away now, when will you run away? I'm counting on you, big brother!"

The sound of that person echoed from afar, causing everyone except Austin to be unable to determine the direction before gradually moving away.

"Hey! That guy just ran away without a care..." March took out her bow and complained about Sampo, who was no longer there.

"Just knock them out, okay? Don't do anything violent," Austin turned to remind Stelle who was gripping her baseball bat tightly.

"I understand, but when they wake up, you might not remember they own name," Stelle replied before charging at the troops with Dan Heng.

Austin didn't intervene in the fight; he just stood by and watched the two handle it themselves because he considered it a learning opportunity. But amidst the fierce battle in the snowy field, a man in silver armor with blonde hair and blue eyes stepped forward.

The man in silver armor spread an energy shield to block March's arrows and confronted the express convoy team.

"I am Gepard Landau, Captain of the Silvermane guars. I command you to cease your resistance."

As soon as Gepard entered, the fight seemed to escalate to another level. Austin decided to take action. He took a step forward, but in the blink of an eye, he appeared in front of Stelle and Gepard.

*Bang!!!* "Alright, it seems like we have a slight misunderstanding," Austin clapped his hands together, creating a loud sound that echoed throughout the area, causing both Stelle and Jephard to step back several paces.

"Mr. Gepard said he is the captain of the Silvermane, right?"

"And what of it?" Gepard, who had just regained his balance, frowned and asked back.

"Actually, we might have misunderstood each other a bit; in fact, we just met that guy with blue hair a moment ago."

"I am a captain, not a judge. As a citizen of Belobog, you has the right to defend your own rights. But that part will be under the care of the city builders, which is not now. Take them away," Jepard turned to order the troops.

"That's where you're wrong, Mr. Gepard, the four of us are not citizens of Belobog." Austin raised his hand to stop.

"What does it mean?"

"If showing you is better than just words," Austin turned back to March, "Do you still have a picture of this planet, March?"

"Picture?" Jephard raised an eyebrow in curiosity.

"Of course I still keep it, Austin, you're truly a genius! I completely forgot about this method!" March walked over, holding the picture of the Jarilo-VI, to show Gepard and the troops.

"As you can see, we are not from this planet. To be precise, we just arrived a few minutes ago."

"Are you saying that this white planet is the one we live on...? This is just..." one of the soldiers said.

At the same time, Gepard raised his hand to his chin, pondering the possibilities and the reliability of the information received.

"... It is said that long ago, there were often strangers from another world who came here... But after the Eternal Winter arrived, no one has been able to cross the snow and reach Belobog again..." Gepard recalled what he had heard.

"Captain, but these people..." one soldier interjected, seemingly not believing Austin's words.

"This matter is beyond our jurisdiction. If what they say is true, then only the Supreme Guardian can decide what to do next."

Jepard turned to admonish his subordinate before turning back to the express convoy team that was waiting to see the other party's reaction.

"What we should do is take them to meet the Supreme Guardian, the visitors. Come with me, Belobog is behind this snow curtain."

Then Gepard turned around and led the express convoy along with his soldiers. Austin himself walked ahead, leading the others until they reached the edge of the cliff where they could see the entire giant fortress city.

"Welcome to the City of Preservation - Belobog," Gepard gestured for the express crew to see the scene ahead.
