Fate: Hero Simulator

Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Miyamoto Musashi

[3rd POV]

Just as Kyouya had thought earlier, the status of women in this era was very low, and this young girl was no exception.

She seems to have been born into a samurai family and had an interest in learning swordsmanship since she was young.

However, her father seemed unwilling to pass down the sword techniques to his daughter, and other schools and dojo were also unwilling to accept her as a female disciple...

Then...

"You went and secretly stole then?"

He really didn't know whether this woman in front of him was bold or simply reckless.

Stealing sword techniques was a big deal in any time period. If she got caught, losing a hand or foot wouldn't be surprising.

"I just happened to see it once."

The white-haired girl's gaze shifted, clearly not telling the whole truth.

It was obvious that this person had intentionally gone to learn swordsmanship without permission.

"Although it's a bit hard to believe, I still have to tell you, I'm just a monk and know nothing about kendo."

He had always been a monk in this life.

Even after taking lives, he would still chant the prayer for their peaceful death.

He had no knowledge or understanding of the so-called swordsmanship.

He knew swordsmanship and that the style of the flowing sword couldn't even be considered related to Japanese kendo.

"How is that possible? I've heard you're a swordsmanship master, and many sword masters have come to challenge you."

The white-haired girl quickly shared the latest rumor with him, and it was clear that someone was behind the scenes pushing this story forward.

Someone wanted Kyouya to continue killing, using people's blood to feed the cursed blade.

"Since you understand that countless swordmasters will come to challenge me, aren't you afraid of getting caught up in it?"

"I'm a bit scared, but I'm really good at running away. When the time comes, I'll definitely escape far away and won't cause any trouble for you, Master."

What a shameless person.

He couldn't help but admire her.

In all the years Kyouya had spent in this world, even when counting the simulated lives, few could compare him to him in terms of shamelessness.

Usually, it wouldn't be a problem to take her on as a disciple, but since he was already being hunted, there was no need to add an extra burden.

"If you want to follow me, there are a few conditions you must agree."

"Sure, Master, just tell me."

As soon as she heard she could stay, the girl's eyes lit up. When she left her home, she decided to learn some real swordsmanship so she could slap her father right in the face someday.

"First, I am not your master."

"Yes, master, no problem, master."

"Second, when fighting enemies, you are on your own. I'm not responsible for your safety."

"No problem."

"Third, starting from today, you will draw your sword a thousand times, swing it a thousand times, and sheathe it a thousand times. If you can't do it on any day, you leave."

There's not much point in drawing the sword a thousand times, swinging it a thousand times, and sheathing a thousand times.

The moment this girl couldn't do it anymore, Kyouya would have a reason to make her leave.

As for why Kyouya also didn't just use his Divine Feet to leave?

It was because he could see the girl's determination.

He needed to let her either reach her goal or completely give up, otherwise, she would keep bothering him forever.

That's just a temporary solution, not a real solution.

"Of course, but what's the point of practicing all this?"

"The so-called swordsmanship is just about drawing the sword, swinging it, and sheathing it. If you can't do these, then don't even talk about swordsmanship."

"As expected of a master. At least I managed to steal a sword from home, or else I wouldn't even be able to train."

The white-haired girl didn't seem scared by the tough training at all. On the contrary, she proudly displayed the katana she had stolen from home.

The girl's smug expression made her father seem like he had raised a daughter full of pride.

"By the way, I still don't know your name."

Although Kyouya didn't believe the girl would last long, he still thought it was worth asking for her name.

"Miyamoto Musashi. You can just call me Musashi, Master."

"Musashi?"

He looked at the girl with a slightly doubtful expression.

In this era, meeting someone named Miyamoto Musashi was strange—except for the gender, everything else seemed to match.

"It's strange, right? Actually, my father always wanted a son, but he didn't expect to get a girl."

Musashi didn't mind Kyouya's surprised look. She had probably encountered similar reactions many times because of her name.

[You once thought that maybe they shared the same name since it was almost impossible to believe that the famous swordsman was actually a woman, but you quickly dismissed this idea.]

[The training tasks you gave Musashi, she never slacked off for even a moment. Even though she hadn't received formal training, you could feel that this girl was improving at an amazing speed every day.]

[You start to consider whether you should seriously teach this person in front of you.]

It's really her. It's really her.

Kyouya sat under a tree, watching the girl as she continued her monotonous practice.

By now, he was fully convinced that this girl was indeed Miyamoto Musashi.

Although she wasn't the strongest swordsman in this era yet, she would later be regarded as the greatest in the eyes of future generations.

This already indicated the immense potential of the girl in front of him, and she should never be overlooked.

He had her focus on the basics, but he had no swordsmanship to teach her and might be holding her back if he didn't do anything.

However, it doesn't matter now. Today, Musashi should be leaving.

"Let's stop here."

He interrupted Musashi's training.

The girl, drenched in sweat, didn't understand why her master wanted her to stop training. It was the first time she'd encountered something like this.

"A powerful swordsman will be coming to challenge me today. You should rest and watch from the sidelines."

"A powerful swordsman?"

At this point, Kyouya's reputation had gradually spread, and being called a powerful swordsman by him was truly extraordinary.

Musashi was very curious to know who it was.

"Yagyu Shinkage-ryu, Yagyu Munetoshi."

"Munetoshi? The disciple of the Sword Saint, the founder of the Yagyu Shinkage-ryu?"

She was taken aback.

That Yagyu Munetoshi was a legendary swordsman who had never lost a fight before meeting his master, Kamiizumi Nobutsuna.

Nobutsuna had founded the Yagyu Shinkage-ryu and now served as a military advisor for the Tokugawa family.

"Young lady, have you heard of my name?"

Just as Musashi finished speaking, an older swordsman with graying hair arrived and behind him stood a younger man who looked very similar to him.

"I am Yagyu Munetoshi of the Yagyu Shinkage-ryu. I've come to take the cursed sword, Murasame."

The disciple of the Sword Saint had arrived.

Kyouya turned and prepared for battle.
