Chapter 21: This is Not a Picnic Mo-chan!
After waking up, Ethan changed into a Mystic Code outfit prepared by Chaldea and looked at himself in the mirror.
Umu, still as handsome and dashing as ever.
Three days passed quickly.
During this time, he took advantage of his leave to livestream a few times, maintaining interaction with his channel.
He even had Romani and Mash appear on stream, and even organized an internal mukbang at Chaldea.
Thanks to Mordred, who inherited the "royal stomach," the gifts received this time piled up like a mountain.
Mordred ate to her heart's content, Ethan gained more livestream points, so everyone was happy.
Since Mordred was behaving herself that day, the doctor was also quite pleased.
The only ones suffering were Chaldea's logistics department.
Currently, the livestream points had accumulated to around seventy rolls.
Counting the eleven rolls previously used to summon Emiya Kiritsugu, a total of thirty rolls had been spent to summon Mordred.
Just ninety more rolls, and a Servant was guaranteed!
Moreover, within those ninety rolls, there was still a chance to summon additional new Servants!
Thinking about this, a smile unconsciously appeared on Ethan's lips, making him even more excited for today's Rayshift.
"Senpai."
As soon as he stepped out of his room, he saw that Mash had been waiting for him since early morning.
Today, she wore a form-fitting combat suit, carrying the royal dining table of Britannia in her hands, looking strong and battle-ready.
Seeing Ethan scanning her from head to toe, Mash's cheeks slightly reddened.
"Senpai... please don't look at me like that..."
"Fou! Fo—uuu!!"
Fou used Mash's shield as a springboard and leaped onto Ethan's shoulder.
Then, with its small, fluffy paws, it pushed Ethan's face to the side.
"Fou!!!"
"Ack, ow ow ow..."
Caught off guard by Fou's sudden shove, Ethan almost twisted his neck.
"Senpai, are you okay?"
Mash rushed over in alarm.
"I'm fine, I'm fine..."
Ethan turned his head back and waved his hand to signal that it was nothing serious.
"You two, today is departure day, right?"
From the hallway, a mature woman approached.
She had an unforgettable, captivating face, and on her shoulder perched a robot bird that looked like a work of art.
"Da Vinci?"
Chaldea's assistant, Servant number three.
Leonardo Da Vinci, The Genius Painter and Engineer and Architect.
Also known as the great merchant—after all, her magical workshop housed countless valuable treasures.
The onee-san in front of him wore an unmistakable Mona Lisa smile, but upon hearing Ethan call her that, she frowned slightly.
"Nuh-uh, you must call me Da Vinci-chan!"
She was clearly displeased and immediately corrected Ethan's way of addressing her.
"As a comrade of Chaldea, at the very least, our way of addressing each other shouldn't create distance."
"That way of addressing you makes me feel even more distant... Right, Mash?"
Who even calls their teammates with '-chan'?! Not to mention, the soul inside this beautiful onee-san originally belonged to a man!!!
"Da Vinci-chan, good morning!"
"Good morning, Mashu-chan!"
Completely ignoring Ethan standing next to them, Mash and Da Vinci enthusiastically greeted each other.
"You two hurry up and head to the control room."
"Because Doctor Romani is getting impatient?"
"Romani? Whatever with that guy, the real issue is that the highly energetic Servant this Master brought along is already bored out of her mind."
Hearing Da Vinci's description, Ethan immediately thought of Mordred.
He didn't expect her to arrive so early.
"Alright then, we're heading out first, Da Vinci."
Ethan grabbed Mash's hand and dashed toward the control room.
"I told you, call me Da Vinci-chan!!!"
.....
Ethan and Mash ran while gasping for breath, quickly arriving at the control room.
From a distance, they could already hear voices coming from inside.
"Hey, weakling! Bring more coffee over here! This isn't enough!"
"Eh?! But that was all the coffee I had stocked up..."
"Who the hell is that little amount supposed to be enough for?! If there's no coffee, juice will do! And make sure it meets the king's standards!"
"But the logistics department will complain… And what exactly are the king's standards...?"
The control room doors slid open as Ethan and Mash stepped inside.
"Yo! Master!!!"
As soon as she spotted Ethan, Mordred, who was sitting on a table, grinned excitedly.
"You finally made it! When are we heading out?"
She waved eagerly at Ethan, her face no different from an elementary school kid excited for a field trip.
"Mordred, why are you here so early?"
Ethan asked in confusion.
There were still a full thirty minutes before the scheduled assembly time.
"Of course, because I slept here last night!"
Mordred proudly pounded her chest.
"..."
Is she actually an elementary school kid?!
Ethan glanced around the control room. Besides Doctor Romani and Mordred, Emiya Kiritsugu was also present, leaning silently against the wall, saying nothing.
"Never mind that, let's just get going already, Master!"
Seeing Mordred's barely contained excitement, Doctor Romani stepped forward toward Ethan.
"Ahem, Ethan, Mash, before this Rayshift operation, I have a few things to go over."
Doctor Romani lightly tapped his bracelet, instantly projecting a set of documents onto the main screen.
"We've been monitoring a total of seven Singularities and have selected the one with the lowest fluctuations for this mission. Upon arrival, the two of you must immediately begin investigating and repairing the anomaly."
Umu, as for the information on the Singularity, Ethan had already reviewed it beforehand—definitely an advantage.
"Last time, due to the Holy Grail in Fuyuki being destroyed, we were only able to retrieve fragments of it. This time, you can use the same method to destroy it. Of course, recovering it intact would be preferable, since the Holy Grail is a magical artifact with an immense mana reserve, making it incredibly valuable."
After finishing his briefing, Doctor Romani looked toward Ethan and Mash.
"Once the Rayshift is successful, Chaldea's ability to assist will be limited, so all decisions must be made based on your judgment in the moment. Understood?"
"Understood."
Ethan nodded.
"Then, step into the spiritron chamber and prepare for Rayshift."
Following Doctor Romani's orders, Ethan and Mash entered the spiritron chamber one after the other.
"Ugh, this thing is too cramped. It's so damn uncomfortable."
Mordred, lying inside her chamber, grumbled irritably.
"Ah… please bear with it for a bit…"
Doctor Romani scratched his head awkwardly.
Meanwhile, Emiya Kiritsugu had silently entered his own chamber at some point, remaining as quiet as ever.
"Reverse Summon System, activate!"
"Initiating Spiritron Conversion."
The system's voice echoed through the room.
"Rayshift commencing in 3… 2… 1…"
"All systems: Clear! Commencing physical confirmation—Grand Order!"
With a deep vibration, a wave of dizziness washed over them.
Ethan understood this very well—his first mission to conquer a Singularity had officially begun!
Destination: France!!!
