Fate: Question And Answer System of Traversing Heroic Spirits

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Type-Moon Communication System

Fuyuki City, Japan. A young man emerged slowly from a high-end hotel in the city center.

The boy had jet-black hair and captivating red eyes that set him apart. His warm and inviting smile brightened his face, hinting at a playful confidence. Dressed casually yet stylishly, he showcased his slender frame, and his relaxed but attentive posture radiated a quiet charm. (IMG)

After leaving the hotel, he wandered aimlessly around Fuyuki City until he found an open-air café. He sat down, taking in the familiar yet foreign scenery.

His name was Tachibana Chihiro, an 18-year-old who was not just any ordinary person, he was reincarnator.

In his previous life, Chihiro had died of leukemia. Fortunately, he had a younger brother who could look after their parents, so he passed without too much regret. While bedridden for most of his final years, he had taken solace in anime and manga, especially the Fate franchise. He had admired the heroes who fearlessly fought to protect the fabric of human history.

Perhaps his passion had reached the ears of some higher power, because when he awoke again, it was in a world unmistakably connected to Nasuverse. He hadn't even changed nationalities; he was still Japanese.

However, he was found abandoned as a baby, left at the doorstep of a Shinto shrine on Mount Koya, and was subsequently taken in and raised by the shrine's priests.

Through them, he was exposed to the arcane arts specifically, Japan's own mystical practice: Onmyōdō.

Onmyōdō, also known as "Way of Yin and Yang," was a traditional magic system that had been adapted to manipulate the world's natural energies. It focused on using one's spiritual power to influence reality, bending the laws of nature to one's will.

Japanese practitioners believed that since reality's rules were malleable, shaped by human intent and belief, the pursuit of altering these rules was a lifelong endeavor. Why adapt to a changing world when you could change the world to suit yourself?

The core principle could be summed up as: "Words create reality." The stronger one's conviction, the more effective the magic. But if one's will wavered, the magic would fail.

Now, Chihiro found himself in Fuyuki City for a singular purpose: to participate in the Holy Grail War.

If he was in the Nasuverse, how could he resist the chance to join the war for the omnipotent wish-granting chalice?

It was 1994, and the Fourth Holy Grail War was about to begin. He had been uncertain about the exact timing until a few days ago, when a mysterious system suddenly appeared in his mind.

It was called the "Type-Moon Communication System," but after announcing itself, it had gone completely silent.

Now, with the war looming, Chihiro wondered if its activation was connected to the approaching conflict.

He had taken a gamble, requesting time off from his mentor under the guise of a week-long spiritual pilgrimage. His mentor, who had always encouraged Chihiro to explore the outside world, readily agreed.

With that, Chihiro made his way to Fuyuki City.

He could only hope that the system wouldn't disappoint him.

[Ding! The Type-Moon Communication System has been officially activated!]

["Mage Killer" has joined the chat; "Jewel King" has joined the chat; "Princess" has joined the chat; "Director K" has joined the chat; "Mapo Priest" has joined the chat; "Rebellious Spirit" has joined the chat; "The Showman" has joined the chat; "Red Devil" has joined the chat; "Tragic Sakura" has joined the chat; "Background Character Chihiro" has joined the chat.]

[Ding! Connected to the Throne of Heroes!]

["Foolish King" has joined the chat; "Golden King" has joined the chat; "Conqueror King" has joined the chat; "Radiant Glance" has joined the chat; "Knight of the Lake" has joined the chat; "Bluebeard" has joined the chat; "Troupe of Acrobats" has joined the chat.]

Suddenly, a voice echoed in the minds of everyone involved in the upcoming Fourth Holy Grail War, accompanied by a virtual screen appearing before them.

Well, apart from the Masters and Servants, a few other participants seemed to have been thrown in for good measure.

[Welcome to the Type-Moon Communication System.]

[This system connects all parallel worlds in the Type-Moon universe. The timelines of each world differ, so do not be alarmed.]

[The system will initiate a live Q&A mode when significant events occur across these worlds. The topics covered will range from the past to the present and even the future.]

[Participants who answer questions correctly will receive Saint Quartz as a reward. Conversely, incorrect answers will result in a loss of Saint Quartz.]

[The top three scorers for each question will receive additional rewards.]

[The first Q&A session will begin in ten minutes. Please prepare.]

For a brief moment, everyone in the chat was stunned, trying to digest the sudden flood of information.

Chihiro was no exception.

Damn it, he thought this "golden finger" system was his personal cheat, but it turned out he wasn't the only one who had access to it.

He recognized most of the participants who had joined the group, but who was this "Background Character Chihiro"? Could it actually be... him?

Before he could delve deeper, an imperious voice boomed through the chat.

Golden King: "Who dares to disturb my royal slumber? Show yourself, you cowardly cur!"

Wait, could the group chat really transmit voice messages?

Red Devil: "Holy crap, I'm actually hearing voices! I'm not hallucinating, am I?"

Director K: "What kind of sorcery is this? Who dares pull such a cheap prank?"

Princess: "Is this some sort of illusion? No one else around me seems to notice the screen."

Conqueror King: "Hahaha! Whose Noble Phantasm is responsible for this? But it's refreshing to finally have some entertainment. The Throne of Heroes is dreadfully dull."

Jewel King: "The Throne of Heroes, you say? Are you claiming to be a Servant?"

Jewel King: "No way, this has to be a trick. And what's up with these ridiculous nicknames?"

Princess: "Hey! What's with this 'Princess' nonsense? I'm not a girl!"

Conqueror King: "Oh? I didn't expect a princess to be in our midst. Might I ask which kingdom you hail from?"

Princess: "I said I'm not a princess! I'm just a student!"

Golden King: "You rabble dare to insult the king? Have you no fear of death?"

Red Devil: "Who do you think you are, talking like that? If you want to fight, come at me!"

Golden King: "Hah! Do you not know who I am? To speak so arrogantly to me is an offense worthy of death!"

Golden King: "You should be grateful for the chance to perish by my hand!"

Red Devil: "What a joke. You think I should thank you for threatening me?"

Red Devil: "You've got some nerve. I'm getting my old man to put you in your place!"

As the group erupted into a heated exchange, several participants remained silent, observing the spectacle unfold.

Somewhere in a snow-covered forest in Russia, a middle-aged man with a grizzled appearance and a lit cigarette in his hand stared at the screen in front of him.

"What is this nonsense, and why is it happening now of all times?"

"Whatever it is, I'll stay on my guard. Hopefully, it won't interfere with the Holy Grail War…"
