Chapter 311: Deja Vu, Clues to the Maze (Four-in-One) (Additional Release for 12000 Monthly Tickets in May)
Accompanied by screams, everyone instinctively shifted their gaze from the blood moon in the sky to the thousand-meter-high altar below.
The altar that was once calm, had now plunged into extreme chaos.
Standing at the top, among the Hall Rank members of the Moon Spirit Clan who had won their place in the Spirit Moon Festival, approximately one-tenth of the members were painfully rolling on the ground, wailing, while the other members retreated in terror to the edges of the altar, looking at these abnormal kin.
Qin Chuan and Lin Yue stood up simultaneously, their expressions solemn as they looked at the altar.
With just one glance, they recognized familiar figures among the wailing Moon Spirits.
The petite Pei Ma'er curled up beneath the beautiful dress specifically worn for the Spirit Moon Festival, kneeling on the ground in pain, trembling continuously.
The face that was always smiling, slightly chubby with baby fat, was now tightly furrowed together, appearing somewhat ferocious due to extreme pain.
"Save her!" Lin Yue softly called out, her figure flashing as she was about to leap towards the altar, but two powerful presences burst forth, blocking her path.
It was Monk and Beisagra.
The two of them, abandoning their previous politeness, gave Qin Chuan and Lin Yue a near-threatening look, "Human Race, did you do this?!"
Qin Chuan's figure flashed, positioning himself in front of Lin Yue, his expression darkened, "It seems we were invited by the Moon Spirit Clan to witness the festival."
"Monk, Beisagra, cease!" The Purple Moon Priest quickly snapped out of her shocked fury and swiftly stepped forward, "This has nothing to do with the Human Race!"
"Main Priest!" Beisagra's face was extremely unsightly, having to suppress his own presence due to a lower status, but his gaze towards Qin Chuan and Lin Yue was still unfriendly.
Clearly, he still suspected that all these calamities were related to these two humans.
After all, they were the only members of an alien race present.
Just at that moment, a series of panicked voices suddenly erupted from the crowd.
A few Mythical Rank individuals sensed something and looked towards the altar, their expressions growing uglier by the second.
Ferocious bone spurs burst from the slender back of Pei Ma'er, tearing her beautiful dress, and revealing her body that was starting to twist and distort underneath, her horrifically dark hair piercing out from her moon-blue skin, causing an involuntary shudder.
The other wailing Moon Spirits also started to undergo deformations and mutations, enduring some unknown transformation.
"Enough, back off!" The Purple Moon Priest chided lightly, her eyes swirling with a hazy purple light as the Main Priest's mighty presence exploded, "Let's focus on the matter at hand!"
"I vow on the Purple Moon that this incident has nothing to do with the two humans."
Having said that, the Purple Moon Priest flashed back to the platform above the altar, lighting up the corresponding petal podium.
A purple column of light soared into the heavens, tearing through the sun-obscuring sky in an instant.
The dazzling sunlight poured down, immediately obscuring the blood moon that appeared dreadfully heart-throbbing.
The secret technique of the Moon Spirit Clan could have continued for another ten minutes or so, but with such an incident, they obviously could not allow the moon to manifest any longer, and out of helplessness, the Purple Moon Priest had to forcibly end the previously cast spell.
With a huff... Forcibly terminating the spell, the Purple Moon Priest let out a muffled grunt, her brows slightly furrowed, revealing that she had suffered a certain degree of backlash, but she still prioritized descending toward the altar below.
As the blood moon was covered by the sun, the bodies of the unfortunate Moon Spirits, which were undergoing mutations, slowed down in pace, but did not stop.
Seeing this, the Purple Moon Priest's brows furrowed even tighter.
She made a cradling gesture with her hands in front of her, and with the gathering of the hazy purple light, a Purple Moon materialized in her palm, its radiance swiftly encompassing the altar below.
Purple Moon Power—Growth!
As the light surged, the mutations of the Moon Spirits below were finally contained.
However, the expression on the Purple Moon Priest's face did not ease.
Even utilizing the power of her authority, she could not return the mutated kin to their original form.
She could only halt the growth of the mutations temporarily.
Lin Yue stood in the void, looking at Pei Ma'er, now especially ferocious in her pain, her eyes filled with compassion and pity, gently holding Qin Chuan's hand.
Qin Chuan sighed lightly.
If the altar had been filled with Moon Spirits they did not know, it would have been one thing.
Having met Pei Ma'er twice, even if not of the same clan, they had grown fond of this kind-hearted little Moon Spirit girl.
Now, with Pei Ma'er transformed in such a manner, both felt worried and could not bear it.
"Go ahead." Qin Chuan knew what Lin Yue wanted to do, spoke softly, yet with a hint of warning as he looked towards Monk and Beisagra.
Lin Yue's figure flashed, swiftly flying towards the altar.
Monk and Beisagra originally wanted to stop her, but caught by Qin Chuan's gaze and recalling what the Purple Moon Priest had just said, they stood in place unwillingly, without moving.
"Cooperation·"
Lin Yue gently opened her vermilion lips, and with the blossoming of life's radiant glow, her momentum rapidly changed. In an instant, blossoming flowers appeared in the void, forming a sea of flowers swaying in the wind, their fragrance swirling with the power of comfort.
Adorned in a lotus-pink dress, she lightly stepped on the sea of flowers, appearing next to the Purple Moon Priest, and with a slight raise of her hand, the scent of flowers swiftly swept down towards the Moon Spirits below.
Under the strong healing power, the painful expressions of the mutated Moon Spirits below quickly eased, and although the abnormalities in their bodies still existed, they were no longer in excruciating pain.
