Fate: The Rise of Shikama Douji

Chapter 50: Time travel 4

Spears, swords, maces, axes, and other mythical weapons poured out from the Gates of Babylon as if they were an endless supply of consumables, each one creating a massive explosion upon impact with the ground. It was as if missiles were striking the earth. Kiritsugu Emiya raised his hand, and thousands of magical circles formed around him. These circles collided with Gilgamesh's Noble Phantasms, causing the entire dock beneath them to tremble as if a massive earthquake had occurred. It was as if ancient secrets had been revived, and the age of gods was returning.

Gilgamesh frowned. As a servant, he couldn't compete in magical power with a living being like Kiritsugu Emiya. But Gilgamesh knew he had to end this battle quickly. There was a possibility that Kiritsugu could borrow more power from his teacher, and Gilgamesh had no doubt about his teacher's strength. To him, his teacher was the strongest being in all of creation—omniscient and omnipotent.

Small cracks began to appear on Kiritsugu Emiya's face. His soul was breaking. His mortal nature seemed fragile against the divine, but he endured the pressure with an iron will.

"Tokiomi, support me with a Command Seal!" Gilgamesh communicated with Tokiomi as if giving an order to his subject. In the Tohsaka mansion, Tokiomi bit his lip until blood flowed. He knew he couldn't stop this battle. If he tried, he would likely be killed by Gilgamesh. He sighed, as if he had to entrust the Tohsaka family's aspirations to the next generation.

"By the power of the Command Seal, I command: King, emerge victorious! Defeat the enemy!" Tokiomi activated the Command Seal. Two Seals were used for victory; one Seal to defeat the enemy. The vaguer the command, the more Command Seals were needed. The command for victory was a vague one. Gilgamesh felt magical energy enveloping his entire being. All his parameters were enhanced. He descended from the sky with a majestic landing, the Gate of Babylon closed, and a spear appeared in his hand. He knew he couldn't defeat Kiritsugu Emiya with the Gate of Babylon. The Gate of Babylon wasn't something Gilgamesh relied on. The only thing Gilgamesh relied on was his own body. When a worthy opponent appeared, he would enter the battle himself.

" be proud, mongrel, for you will be killed by me personally!" Gilgamesh swung his spear. Kiritsugu Emiya's eyes widened. His enhanced intuition warned him to flee. An aura of killing intent emanated from Gilgamesh. The sky turned red. Gilgamesh was finally serious. He wanted to completely annihilate this lowly worm. He wanted to show the price of using absolute knowledge and absolute power. Mortals should never wield such power.

"Shikama Douji, lend me more power Kiritsugu Emiya shouted as the cracks on his body grew. His body was being destroyed. His mortal nature was fading. His body tried to repair itself, but it was futile. The speed of destruction was too fast. Suddenly, the shadow of an angel appeared behind Kiritsugu Emiya and smiled at Gilgamesh. The King of Heroes paled for the first time, as if facing one of his childhood nightmares.

"You foolish mongrel, you've gone mad!" Gilgamesh shouted, as if terrified by Kiritsugu Emiya's madness. To him, Kiritsugu Emiya had gone insane by seeking more power. It was impossible for a mortal like him to withstand such power. He was doomed to perish.

"If this is your wish, I shall grant it. Now, give me a good show!" Shikama Douji wrapped his arms around Kiritsugu Emiya's neck and transferred more power to him. 9, 10, 11, 14, 17, 20... until it reached the insane number of 30 percent. All the human parts of Kiritsugu Emiya's body were instantly destroyed, and his soul transformed from mortal to divine. His once white and colorless soul now shone golden and radiant like the sun. This transformation illuminated the sky, as if night had turned to day. Many people in Fuyuki stared at the sky in astonishment. The shadow of Shikama Douji disappeared, leaving only Kiritsugu Emiya. His mortal nature had now become divine.

"Die," Kiritsugu Emiya spoke these words in a divine language. Blood poured from Gilgamesh's mouth. A single word was enough to kill him. It was as if there was no reason, only that Kiritsugu Emiya had spoken, and it had to happen. Kiritsugu Emiya coldly gazed at Gilgamesh, as if looking at a pebble. An inhuman, divine majesty radiated from him, so overwhelming that it tormented both servants and masters. Gilgamesh couldn't even fight back. It seemed he wanted to say something, but he couldn't. His body turned into golden light, and his spiritual core was destroyed.

But it wasn't that simple. Nearly half of Kiritsugu Emiya's soul had been destroyed. He was barely enduring this transformation. Becoming a divine being had made the process easier, but Kiritsugu Emiya knew that, at best, he had only a few days left to live. At worst, just two days. As long as he lived, he had to destroy all the servants along with the Holy Grail. He wouldn't allow the tragedy of Fuyuki to repeat itself.
