"Just sit anywhere," Morgan le Fay said, sitting on the edge of the bed as she looked at Asher standing before her.
"Don't be so restrained, you don't seem like a very shy person, do you?"
Asher still didn't move. He turned around and tried to push open the door behind him—but it wouldn't budge.
Morgan had closed it just moments ago. When Asher saw her raise her hand to cast a spell, he knew something was wrong. She had sealed the room completely.
With no other option, Asher turned back to Morgan sitting casually on the bed's edge.
A completely closed room, just a man and a woman inside. The windows were shut from the inside too. Morgan idly played with her golden hair, her delicate white feet swaying gently. The faint curve of cleavage showed in her alluring chest, and her moist, charming eyes stared right at Asher's face.
His heart began to beat faster.
This scene... wasn't it the perfect setup for a locked-room murder mystery?!
"What? Do you need your older sister to hold you before you'll sit down?" Morgan teased, sizing him up.
"Generally speaking, I should be the one holding you," Asher couldn't help but say.
He was a man, after all. If Morgan held him, wouldn't their roles be reversed?
"Oh?" A smile appeared on Morgan's face. "Then come here and hold me?"
Asher glanced at her and shook his head. "Forget it. Not really interested."
After that, he sat down opposite Morgan le Fay on the edge of the bed.
The corner of Morgan's mouth lifted faintly.
Heh, what a coward. Did that really look like disinterest?
She had clearly noticed where his gaze had wandered just now.
Though he said he wasn't interested, his eyes had betrayed him—lingering now and then on her feet and chest.
In this situation, anything he said was unconvincing.
"Just tell me what you want quickly. I still want to go back to the Land of Shadows early, Big Sister Morgan," Asher said, feeling the tension in the room.
Morgan's gaze, along with the heavy silence, made him very uncomfortable. Unable to hold back any longer, he started to speak from his heart.
It had already been two months, and he was looking forward to reuniting with Shishou and Big Sister after this.
Of course, he was also a little bit looking forward to the current scene and what might come next... really just a little bit.
About the small distance between his index finger and thumb.
"Don't be in such a hurry. Come sit over here," Morgan patted the seat beside her.
"What? Do you want to sit on your older sister's lap?" Morgan tilted her head, a strand of hair falling over her eyes.
"Or do you want your older sister to sit on your lap?"
Asher: "..."
Faced with Morgan's bold words, he had no choice but to gather his courage and sit down.
Did she really think he was that easy? If he wasn't afraid she'd do whatever she wanted, he would have teased her back already.
Though complaining in his heart, Asher subconsciously lowered his head.
Then his gaze lingered on Morgan le Fay's beautiful, round, goddess-like legs before quietly shifting away.
This...
"As expected, my charm is still quite significant," Morgan sighed, noticing his gaze.
"Sometimes I wonder why I'm the goddess of death instead of the goddess of love."
"If I were the goddess of love, I could draw my bow and aim at this spot," she extended a slender finger and pressed it against Asher's chest, "and biu~ you would become my captive."
"Big Sister Morgan, what exactly do you want?" Asher propped himself up with his hands behind him, feeling like he might lose control if this went on much longer.
This woman always liked to play like this. Had she never thought that one day he might really not be able to hold back?
"You really can't stand being teased at all," Morgan le Fay said, spreading her hands.
"King Uther is dead." She finally said it.
Asher was stunned.
"Didn't you say it would be at least three more months? Why so soon?"
"He was already seriously ill when he was defeated by Vortigern," Morgan said calmly.
"It was already quite remarkable he could hold on for so long."
"Three months was just a rough guess. He died a few days ago."
"The royal city is already in chaos. Some people are saying the country has reached its end. Bards in villages are spreading unsettling poems."
"So, Lily's time to draw the sword has been moved forward?" Asher said, feeling a swell of emotion inside.
He hadn't expected this day to come so quickly. He had only known Artoria for less than half a year. He had thought they could train together a little longer, but the day had come early.
Morgan nodded gently.
"In a week, many knights will try to pull out the Caliburn."
Asher nodded slightly.
That wasn't surprising. Many would want to become king.
"The one who will ultimately pull out the Caliburn will be Lily," Morgan continued.
"This is a plan jointly discussed by King Uther and that flower-playing swindler."
"I know," Asher said, lowering his head slightly, the hair just covering his dim eyes.
Though reluctant, this was the destined ending. That person was of the Red Dragon lineage, and naturally she would become king to lead the knights in driving out the foreign races.
Just as Merlin had said, this was fate—unchangeable fate.
"Do you believe in fate?" Morgan asked, looking at the silent Asher.
Why the sudden question?
Asher was stunned.
"I believe in fate," Morgan le Fay said gloomily.
"Everything is predetermined. No matter how the process changes—"
Big Sister Morgan's words echoed Merlin's. So even she believed it?
Just then Morgan's voice continued.
"But fate can be deceived," she said, fixing her gaze on Asher as she spoke.
"Deceived...?" Asher repeated.
"Yes," Morgan said, gently combing his hair with her fingers.
"Merlin said only the true king can pull out the Caliburn and become King Arthur, leading the people to a happy life."
"But this is a deception, a plan discussed by King Uther and Merlin."
"The one who pulls out the Caliburn is King Arthur..." she said gloomily.
"So, in other words, as long as it's King Arthur, they can pull out the Caliburn."
"Isn't that obvious?" Asher said, stunned, unable to understand.
"Has anyone stipulated... that King Arthur must be Artoria?" Morgan cupped Asher's face in her hands.
"What do you think?"
"King Arthur?"
