Final Eclipse: Rebirth of The Beta Player

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The Calm Before the Storm

Season 1: Final Eclipse: The Beta Wars

Final Eclipse—a game unlike any other.

For the past two years, it had been the playground of the most skilled, ruthless, and ambitious players. A world where wars were fought not just for glory, but for dominance. A battlefield where only the strongest survived.

And now, the beta was coming to an end.

The system had announced it—"Final Phase Initiated. Remaining Time: 48 Hours."

With the official launch just days away, the top guilds prepared for one last war. The war that would determine who would stand at the peak of Final Eclipse before the great reset.

And at the center of it all… was Raine.

The city of Vardenfell, one of the last remaining strongholds, bustled with activity. Guild banners flew high, weapons were polished, and battle strategies were whispered in shadowed alleyways. The streets were filled with players making their final preparations—some stocking up on potions, others sharpening their blades.

Raine, a lone figure clad in a dark combat suit, leaned against the stone wall of a watchtower. His eyes, sharp and calculating, scanned the marketplace below. Unlike most players, he had never sworn allegiance to any guild. He fought alone. And yet, his name was known across the server.

[Raine – Rank #6 in PvP Rankings, Title: Phantom Reaper]

Tonight, however, was different. Tonight, he had received an invitation.

A familiar voice broke his thoughts.

[ ???, smirking ]: "Still pretending to be a lone wolf, Raine?"

Raine turned. A tall figure in silver and black armor stood before him. His golden insignia gleamed in the firelight—Kaiser, the leader of Oblivion.

[ Raine, indifferent ]: "Didn't think you'd come in person, Kaiser."

[ Kaiser, amused ]: "For you? Of course I did."

Kaiser wasn't just a guild leader. He was the guild leader. The man who ruled Oblivion, the strongest faction in Final Eclipse. Under his command, they had conquered regions, destroyed rivals, and built an empire that no one dared challenge—until now.

[ Raine, crossing his arms ]: "Let me guess. You want me to fight for you in the final war?"

[ Kaiser, grinning ]: "You always were sharp."

Raine exhaled, glancing at the distant horizon where storm clouds loomed—the battlefield where the final war would take place.

[ Raine, uninterested ]: "You know I don't do guilds."

[ Kaiser, serious ]: "And you know this isn't just any war."

A pause.

[ Kaiser, lowering his voice ]: "Something is wrong with the game, Raine."

Raine's expression didn't change, but internally, his instincts sharpened.

[ Raine, skeptical ]: "What do you mean?"

[ Kaiser, glancing around ]: "Have you heard the rumors? Players… feeling pain."

Raine remained silent. He had heard the rumors. At first, it was dismissed as a glitch—players claiming that damage in-game caused discomfort, a dull ache. But lately, the reports had grown… disturbing.

Real pain. Wounds that didn't vanish after logout.

And in the darkest corners of the forums, whispers of something even worse—players who died and never logged back in.

[ Raine, thoughtful ]: "You're saying the war might not just be a game anymore?"

[ Kaiser, nodding ]: "That's exactly what I'm saying."

Silence.

The implications were clear. If Final Eclipse was malfunctioning—if players were trapped—then the final war wouldn't just be about rankings.

It would be about survival.

[ Raine, finally speaking ]: "And you still want me to fight?"

[ Kaiser, smirking ]: "Of course. Because if we're stuck here… I'd rather be at the top."

Raine ran a hand through his hair, thinking. He had never cared about guild wars. He fought for himself, on his own terms.

But if this war was more than just a game…

[ Raine, sighing ]: "Fine. I'll fight for Oblivion. But on one condition."

[ Kaiser, intrigued ]: "Name it."

[ Raine, serious ]: "If things go south, I'm not following orders. I do things my way."

[ Kaiser, laughing ]: "That's the only way I'd want it."

The two clasped hands.

And just like that, Raine was no longer a lone wolf.

He was now a soldier in the final war.

As Raine left the meeting, his system interface flickered.

A private message from an unknown sender.

[ ??? ]: "The war isn't the end. It's the beginning."

His pulse quickened.

[ Raine, narrowing his eyes ]: "Who the hell…?"

Before he could reply, the message vanished.

Deleted.

Raine stared at the empty inbox, unease settling in his gut.

Something was coming.

Something far worse than war.

And he had just stepped into the heart of it.
