Ruby woke up the next morning and gathered her things for the journey to where the initiation would be held. Truthfully, she was a little nervous around new people. But she didn't have ti worry about that today because.. her weapon was going to do most of the talking for her.
While Ruby and Yang were getting ready, the redhead strokes her dust weapon and sighs happily.
Yang: You seem awfully chipper this morning, Rubes. What's up?
Ruby: Oh nothing really... No more of that awkward talking to new people or getting -to - know - you stuff. Today I get to let my sweetheart do all the talking for me. (Strokes Crescent Rose)
Yang: well, you know Rubes... We aren't the only two people taking the initiation test. You're going to have to talk to people eventually.
Ruby: (sighs in frustration and shoves her weapon into her locker) Ugh, you sound like Dad! I mean.. what does meeting new people have to do with fighting?
Yang: (without looking at her sister) What happens if you're put on a team, then what?
Ruby: (laughs nervously) I uhh... could always just be on your team then..
Yang then is seen brushing her hair as she continues her conversation with Ruby.
Yang: Maybe... you should try being on a different team?
Ruby is surprised at this.
Ruby: What? (Laughs nervously again) Oh my dear sister, are you implying that you don't want to be on a team with me?
Yang: What? No, I uh.. I just thought it would help you break out of your shell. You know help you, grow up abit?
Ruby: I don't need to other people to help me grow up, I drink milk!
Yang: whatever you say Rubes... But, what about that one guy? Odyn, was it?
Ruby suddenly freezes up and becomes nervous again.
Ruby: Odyn? W-what about him?
Yang: He seemed really nice. I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you were on the same team. Plus... I think he'd be able to really help you. 😏 if you know what I mean?
Ruby blushes at the tone in her sister's voice. There she went, trying to set things up again... It wasn't like that, between her and Odyn! Why couldn't she see that?
Ruby: Yang.. I told you before it.. it isn't like that between us.
Yang: ok Rubes. Just keep telling yourself that..😏
Ruby then looks towards Odyn's direction as she found herself wondering who he'd have on his team.
Meanwhile, Weiss and Pyrrha were busy getting ready at their lockers just as Jaune passed them while looking for his own locker.
Weiss: So, Pyrrha, have you given any thought to whose team you'd like to be on? I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with such a strong, well-known individual such as yourself!
Pyrrha thought about that for a minute before answering the heiress.
Pyrrha: Hmm... I'm not quite sure. I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may.
Weiss: Well... I was thinking maybe we could be on a team together.
Pyrrha: Well, that sounds grand!
Weiss: Great!
The scene transitions to Odyn and his group while they're getting ready. Odyn is seen tightening the straps on his arm bracers as he was finishing getting ready.
Kanna is seen polishing her shield that's attached to her right gauntlet, while Roy sheathed his sword and tightened the blue headband tied to his forehead. Baron is seen polishing the pistols that were part of a pair of extra hilts for the blades on his back.
Odyn: You guys ready?
Roy smirks as he answers.
Roy: Well, this is what we've prepared for.
Kanna: I've been ready. We've been trained for this for the better part of 3 years. Even if... it wasn't intentionally.
Baron: There we are. (Puts away the pistols) Ready when you are, Odyn.
Odyn nods at this as they head out. Before he leaves, he extends a fist to Ruby as he passed her with some rather simple words.
Odyn: Do your best out there to pass this, okay? I'll be waiting for you.
Ruby: R-Right! Right back at you, odyn.
The two then fist bumped as Odyn and the other elves walked past Ruby and Yang.
Ruby saw the golden and silver blade on Odyn's back and went starry eyed at seeing it. She wanted to see it more up close but figured she'd get the chance to later.
Back to Weiss, The background disappears into a thundercloud as Weiss adopts a scheming pose and manic smile in her head.
Weiss: This will be perfect! The smartest girl in class combined with the strongest girl in class! Together we will be unstoppable! I can see it now! We'll be popular! We'll be celebrities! We'll get perfect grades! Nothing can come between us now!
Jaune then comes in between them, interrupting Weiss's train of thought.
Jaune: You know what else is great? Me. Jaune Arc. Nice to meet you.
Weiss greeted him, though it was clear she was rather irritated by Jaune interrupting her.
Weiss: ugh..You again?
Pyrrha: (hurriedly letting herself be seen) Nice to meet you, Jaune!
Jaune: Yeah, yeah. (pushes Pyrrha aside and talks to Weiss, posing slightly) So, Weiss, couldn't help but overhear your fondness of me the other day.
Weiss: Oh, you've got to be kidding me!
Jaune: Don't worry! No need to be embarrassed! So, been hearing rumors about teams! I was thinking you and me would make a good one! What do you say?
Pyrrha: (getting Jaune's attention) Actually, I think the teams are comprised of four students each, so-
Jaune: You don't say. (advances on his new target) Well, hot stuff, play your cards right and maybe you could join up with the winning team.
Weiss: (separating the two) Jaune, is it? Do you have any idea who you're talking to?
Jaune: Not in the slightest, snow angel.
Weiss: This is Pyrrha.
Pyrrha: Hello again!
Weiss: Pyrrha graduated top of her class at Sanctum!
Jaune: Never heard of it.
Weiss: (scoffs) She's won the Mistral Region Tournaments four years in a row! A new record!
Jaune: The what?
Weiss: (waving her arms rapidly in anger) She's on the front of every Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Flakes box!
Jaune: (gasping suddenly) That's you?! (as the design of the cereal box in question is seen with Pyrrha's smiling face on it) But they only do that for star athletes and cartoon characters!
Pyrrha: Yeah, it was pretty cool. Sadly, the cereal isn't very good for you.
Weiss: (appearing as the box design crumbles behind them) So, after hearing all of this, do you really think you're in a position to ask her to be on your team?
Jaune: I guess not... Sorry... (hanging his head)
Pyrrha: Actually, Jaune, I think you'd make a great leader!
Jaune: (immediately brightening back up) D'oh, stop it!
Weiss: Seriously, please stop it. This kind of behavior should not be encouraged!
Jaune: Sounds like Pyrrha's on board for Team Jaune. Spots are filling up quick! Now, I'm not supposed to do this, but maybe I could pull some strings, find a place for you. What do you say?
Weiss: All right, that's a bit too close! Pyrrha, a little help, please?!
Jaune looks back just in time to see Miló strike him, sending the would-be leader flying off the screen.
Pyrrha: I'm sorry!
An announcement plays on the intercom system.
Glynda (voice only): Would all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately.
Weiss passes Jaune as he hangs from the wall of a locker on her way out. Pyrrha follows her, grabbing her spear and dropping Jaune to the ground.
Pyrrha: It was nice meeting you!
Jaune: (slumping against the locker) Likewise...
Kanna approaches as Odyn and the others wait for her. She smirks at seeing the state Jaune's in.
Kanna: Having a bit of trouble there, Lady killer?
Jaune: I don't understand. My dad said all women look for is confidence! Where did I go wrong?
He accepts Kanna's offered hand as Yang and Ruby also approach him.
Yang: "Snow Angel" probably wasn't the best start.
Jaune: Yeah... I guess you're right about that one.
Kanna slaps him on the back, making the blonde stumble forward abit.
Kanna: Ah, don't let what the little ice princess said get you down. Just keep trying, she'll eventually have to listen to you. And by that, I mean try later cause we gotta go.
Kanna walks abit ahead before rejoining the group of Odyn, Roy, and Baron.
Ruby and Yang stay with him as they help support his damaged self esteem.
Ruby: Come on Jaune, let's go.
Ruby leads Jaune out of the locker room as they follow the others.

The scene opens to the Beacon Cliff, overlooking a forest, where several students - some old, some new, and some unseen - are standing on silver tiles in front of a mug-holding Professor Ozpin and Glynda with her tablet.
Ozpin: For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest.
Glynda: Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams." Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today.
Many of the students were surprised at this and began looking at each other abit nervously. Many of them wondering if they'd end up on a team with people they knew or not.
Ruby: What? Ohhh...
Ozpin: These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well.
Ruby groaned at this. This was not going how she pictured it would.
Ozpin: That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years.
Ruby's eyes widened in shock at this. The shocked expression mirrors her world cracking like glass and falling apart.
Ruby: Whaaaat?!
She frantically looks around before Odyn puts a hand on her shoulder to calm her.
Odyn: Ruby, calm down. Just breathe... okay?
Ruby: Odyn... *sighs* Ok. I'll do that.
Odyn smiles at her.
Odyn: good. You got this, ok?
Ruby nodded and used Odyn's advice to calm her nerves. Before long, she found that she was... strangely... calm now while everyone else (aside from Odyn and his companions) were panicking a little.
Ozpin: After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die.
Jaune laughs nervously and then gulps loudly.
Ozpin: You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?
Jaune was seen raising his hand at this.
Jaune: Umm... sir?
Ozpin: Good! Now, take your positions.
Everyone strikes a pose on their tile. Nora crouches low, Ren wields his weapons, Yang raises her fists, Ruby readies her body, and Jaune is still raising his hand.
Jaune: Uh, sir? I've got, um... a question. (raising his hand)
Ozpin: Good! Now, take your positions.

Ruby looks over to Odyn who smiles at her and gives a thumbs up. He mouthed something that Ruby could understand without hearing him speak the words.
*In Ruby's head*
Odyn: Good Luck, Ruby. I'll be waiting for you at the ruins.
Ruby smiled at these words as she focused on preparing herself to be launched into the forest. Yang saw the small nonverbal interaction between her sister and Odyn and allowed a sly smirk to cross her face. She was going to have fun teasing Ruby about this later. At the same time, she did wonder if Odyn and his friends would be okay. She shook her head.
Yang: Ah, I'm sure they'll be fine. They seem like they know how to handle themselves.
Odyn shifted into a pseudo martial arts stance that he'd been taught since childhood in preparation for the launch. The other 4 Arkynorean Elves mirrored his action, just with their own variant of it.
Jaune: Uh, sir? I've got, um... a question. (He misses the tile under Weiss rising up into a springboard, rocketing into the air and over the forest, as the platforms activate down the line) So, this landing... strategy thing... Uh, wha-what is it? You're, like, dropping us off or something?
Ozpin looked at him before answering him an a very direct and businesslike tone.
Ozpin: No. You will be falling.
*He's missing more students being thrown.*
Jaune: Oh, uh, I see... So, like, did you hand out parachutes for us?
Ozpin: No. You will be using your own "landing strategy."
Jaune: (still not seeing an excited Nora and Ren getting launched) Uh-huh... Yeah.
At her turn, Yang winks at her younger sister, puts on a pair of aviators, and flies off with a "Woo-hoooooooo!" a second before Ruby joins her.
Just before Ruby is launched, Odyn nods to her. Odyn islaunched seconds after Ruby is as he joins his fellow students in the air.
Lastly, it came to Jaune. The blonde was unfortunately not ready to be launched as he was suddenly thrust into the air by the silver launching pad below his feet.
Jaune: So, what exactly is a landing strategYYY!...
He asks this part just when he finally has to get hurled with the cloud of students now making their way down into the forest below under the eyes of the teachers. Ozpin, for his part, simply takes a sip of his drink before the scene goes black.

Odyn allows himself to free fall for a few moments before righting himself in mid air, grabbing hold of a tree limb and swinging over it. He then somersaults and lands on his feet with a crouch.
The dark elf then stands to his feet and unsheathes the blade on his back. He didn't sense anything around him, so he decided to go look for his partner.
Odyn: huh... nothing is here. Ah well, I suppose I should find my partner then.
He then walks for a little bit before stopping and sighing. It wasn't a sigh of frustration, it was more out of the fact he knew what was trying to jump him. He knew there were grim that would underestimate him. Most grim would avoid him due to feeling the particular kind of power Odyn had.
These grim though, had obviously never encountered someone like him. Odyn closed his eyes and sighed out of exasperation.
Odyn: *sighs* Alright you mangy mutts.. If you're going to attack me, at least do it as a group.
A Beowulf jumped out, hoping to bite him only to be violently grabbed by its head and kneed in the face. Odyn kneed it so hard, the mask completely shattered and the grim fell over dead before disappearing. It seemed as if the other grim who were watching this git the idea to attack him at the same time. This did nothing however, Odyn was a trained warrior from his childhood.
Odyn side stepped a pair of claws, before kicking and shattering a grim mask. He then spun around, back fisted another grim in the face, sending it into an exposed tree limb to impale it. Dodging a tail swipe, he flattened his palm as energy gathered in it before discharging the energy point blank. After incinerating several grim with his energy from the blast he created, odyn weaved his way through dozens of ursas by slicing them in half.
He twirled the blade around in his hand as in a figure 8 pattern. He'd slice through several, let go of the blade as it was still cutting through a grim, while he burned another grim with his flames before catching the blade again and hacking through more grim. Odyn then channeled his flames into the blade and stabbed it into the ground creating an explosive ring of fire that incinerated any grim dumb enough to approach the wielder.
Odyn then finished off the assault by using his martial arts to overpower even several Ursa majors that approached him. This concluded with him litterally choking the life out of an ursa major before shattering its mask with an elbow to the face. He closed his eyes and summoned his Blade back to his hand upon his mental command. Before he left the area, odyn twisted the hilt, allowing it to extend and the weapon to shift into its halberd/spear mode.
Odyn spun it before deciding to continue on.
Odyn: well.. that was a nice warmup I suppose.
The dark elf then continued onto another clearing. As he continues walking, he hears what sounded like fighting from ahead of him. The voice sounded... female? This peaked his interest enough to check out who was locked in combat with the grim.
When he came to the open clearing he saw another girl with pointed ears, long Auburn colored hair, and what appeared to be silver- steel gray looking armor on. The girl fought with an elven blade as she used lightning to fight off the grim surrounding her. Odyn didn't immediately help because it seemed as if she had it under control.
Beowolves and ursa's weren't a problem for her, it was the Ursa majors and the birds that were surrounding her from behind. Those could be a big problem, odyn leapt into action and very quickly took care of them just as the girl had finished off the last of her grim opponents.
She looked at him as she sheathed her weapon. Obviously, she wasn't pleased that she had been helped.
???: I could have handled that myself you know.
Odyn: I realize that. I just figured, there was no harm in lending you a hand with the small fry up there. The small fry are often the more annoying variations of grim.
The girl smirked at him, he had a point. She then introduced herself.
???: I do apologize for my rudeness. My name is Hailfire Caldern.
As she turned to greet him, their eyes met and Odyn had a flash of Baron in his mind. That's when it clicked, this girl.. and Baron... the two were connected somehow.
Odyn: Your... eyes...
Hailfire: Oh! Yes, I know my eyes aren't common among people here. They're actually-
Odyn: No. You're... one of us, aren't you?
Hailfire: One of you? What do you-
Odyn: You're... you're an Arkynorean, aren't you?
Hailfire suddenly became serious. She then noticed his eye.
Hailfire: How could you know that unless you- oh... Your eye... it's just like... my eyes are...
She paused momentarily before asking something.
Hailfire: Who-? Who are you?
Odyn: Ah, do forgive me for not introducing myself. I am Odyn Albanar. And you?
Hailfire: Wait... A-Albanar? So.. you're the ones who saved my brother then.. which would make you-!
It seemed as if Hailfire pieced together who Odyn was very quickly and was now kneeling.
Hailfire: Y-Your highness! Forgive me, i.. I had no idea that it was you. Is.. Baron well?
Odyn realized who this was now and he smiled.
Odyn: Yes. He is quite well. Don't worry Hailfire, we will find a way to rescue you.
Hailfire: T-Thank you, your highness!
Odyn: Well.. shall we go then?
Hailfire nodded as the two of them left and headed towards the clearing in the center of the forest.

In another location, Roy had recently landed and had already fought off dozens of grim. He was now walking towards a clearing searching for anyone. That is until he came across a rather interesting sight. It was a fox girl, and she was caught, or rather her foot was caught underneath a pile of branches. She couldn't move and a horde of grim were closing in on her.
Roy unsheathed his sword before the blade shone a blinding blue. Before she knew what happened, the fox girl looked and all of the grim had been defeated. Roy walked up to her and very casually just tapped the pile of sticks with the butt of his sword and her foot was now free.
???: Thank you. I.. unh!
Roy: Careful.
Roy looked and saw that her ankle wasn't in good shape, it was most likely broken. That's when he had an idea. He looked to the fox girl before speaking up.
Roy: I can help you, but you have to promise never to tell anyone about this unless I say otherwise. I'm not really supposed to have you see this, but your foot looks pretty bad.
???: Ok! I won't tell anyone you don't want me to tell. I'll keep your secret safe.
Roy nodded and closed his eyes as he held out an open palm over the girl's leg. As he channeled energy into his hand, a warm golden light surrounded the injured leg. As the light sparkled, the girl began to noticed the scarred and bruised skin healing and the the pain was disappearing until she could no longer feel the unbearable pain she'd felt only moments ago.
The light dissipated as Roy opened his eyes and stood to his feet. He looked to the girl as if expecting her to stand. Understanding this, the fox girl stood to her feet and was shocked that she was no longer in pain, it was as if her leg was never even injured in the first place.
???: How... did you do that?
Roy: As long as you promise to keep it a secret, I'll tell you.
The girl nodded enthusiastically, promising never to tell a soul unless absolutely necessary.
???: I promise! I won't tell a soul!
Roy opened his eyes and revealed to the girl how he was able to heal her leg.
Roy: it's pretty simple, really. I just transferred some of my own energy to you so your body could start the healing process. I just sped up it's recovery process.
???: oh. Ok. T-thank you, umm??
Roy: oh right. Forgive me for not introducing myself earlier, my name is Roy Albanar. It's a pleasure to meet you er-??
???: Oh! My name is Flare Osperey Kitsune. Most people call me Kitsune or Osperey though.
Roy: I see.. is it alright if I just called you Flare?
Flare: O-Oh y-yeah t-that's f-fi-fine.
The fox girl known as Flare was a blushing mess, she'd never had anyone call her by her first name other than her family and close childhood friend. So it was a little bit more embarrassing for her.
Roy looked at her and simply appraised her. Flare wasn't a typical Fox Girl, she had chestnut colored hair and ears on top of her head to go with her chestnut colored tail sticking out of the back near her waist. She also wore a white and silver hoodie, blue jean shorts, black shoes, she had peach/tan colored skin, and deep blue eyes. Flare also had what appeared to be steel gray bladed gauntlets that looked like the shifted into different forms or weapons.
Just from one glance, Roy could tell that Flare's dust weapon was very versatile in its uses. Realizing that he was staring, Roy cleared his throat to divert attention away from the fact that he was just staring at her.
Roy: ahem! Anyways Flare, I think we should get going now if we're going to catch up with our other teammates.
Flare: Oh, R-Right!
Flare then follows Roy as he waits for her to catch up with him. When she does, the two walk towards the center of the forest.

A/N: Don't worry I'll still cover team rwby meeting their partners. Just want to get the main cast first.
Kanna used her momentum to bounce off a tree branch and bound higher into the air. As she closed her eyes and expanded her senses, she picked up on someone nearby. But their energy felt... odd to her. Maybe it was because she hadn't felt energy of this kind before since she was used to sensing Aura as opposed to actual Ki.
Kanna: Huh... Wonder who that could be? I certainly don't recognize that energy.
She smirked as she found a clearing. To her anticipation, someone was there and they were fighting off a host of grim that'd surrounded them.
It was a teen with black spiky hair, red eyes, a scar near his right eye, and a furry brown monkey tail. He also wore a red gi, had a white sash that was like a belt, a dark gray undershirt, and black shoes. He appeared as if he only using martial arts and ... was that ki he was using? Kanna smirked at this, this would be interesting then.
Just as a group of Ursa majors were converging on the black haired teen, Kanna used the gravity from he free fall to drive her foot into gut of an attacking grim. She smashed the heel of her foot into the face of a grim, shattering its mask and causing the ground to crack and eventually form a giant crater from the impact. Leaping off of the defeated grim, Kanna gained an unnerving grin towards the grim as she began not only tearing through them with her bare hands, she was beginning to make the grim afraid of her.
Every time she'd slam a grim to the ground, the the forest floor would shake. Since the grim were actively trying to run from her, the raven haired girl switched strategies. She began to immolate them with her flames and her ki. Within a few minutes, the grim surrounding them had been annihilated.
Finally having a breather, Kanna turned to the boy as they both faced each other. She flicked the blood of the grim off her hands before she spoke.
Kanna: Are you ok there?
Teen: I was going to ask you that. But apparently, you don't need me to help you.
Kanna: True. Anyways, I know you could've handled them on your own but.. I figured some extra help wouldn't hurt.
Teen: You're right, I could've handled them myself. But... I suppose a thank you is in order since you did help me with those grim just now. So.. Th-Thanks I guess..
Kanna: You're welcome. Name's Kanna Andross, in case you're wondering who I am.
Teen: hmph! Daikon Koizumi. Nice to meet you, Kanna. At least I think?
Kanna: we should head towards the others now. They're probably headed towards those ruins by now.
Daikon closed his eyes and walked forward, not bothering to wait. Kanna smirked, it was definitely going to be interesting with this kid around. It wouldn't be boring at the very least.

Baron landed in the middle of clearing after spinning his blades to conjure a small gust of wind to cushion his landing. He looked around and saw no one at the moment. Shrugging, Baron sheathed his swords and continued to walk.
He could sense grim surrounding him , but didn't bother making a move. He didn't want to make one until he was absolutely sure they'd attack him. The dark elf felt them coming closer and following him as if they were ready to attack him. However, something unexpected happened. Instead of the grim attacking him, something else did.
He reacted just in time to catch a kick from a black haired girl in a red and yellow gi. He then dodged a punch from a boy in similar garb as the girl. The girl was light skinned, had black hair and eyes, wore a red gi with a yellow shirt, red pants, black shoes, black fingerless gloves, and had a brown monkey tail sticking out from behind her.
The boy wore similar clothes as the girl, black hair and eyes, light skin, blue fingerless gloves, white shirt underneath the red gi, beige pants, red boots, and a brown monkey tail coming out from behind him.
Baron slid into a stance to prepare for them. Just as he did, the grim attacked. The three trades blows fiercely as they destroyed grim in the midst of their fight. The boy and girl were amazed this guy or what they thought was another grim was able to keep up with them for so long.
Girl: Die, grim!
Boy: Yaahhh!!!
To both of their utter shock, Baron had caught both of their blows aimed at his head with both hands. The Arkynorean smirked as he continued to trade blows with them, finally getting them to stop attacking him once the grim had been defeated.
Baron: hold your blows!
This confused the boy and girl. Last they checked, grim couldn't talk and sound like a normal person. However when they looked, Baron had removed his hood and they saw his eyes.
Girl: Flame colored eyes...
Boy: And dark skin...
Girl: Are you.. er.. no that's impossible. But seriously, what are you?
Baron: Oh? Me? I'm Baron. Baron Caldern.
Boy: what the-? Caldern?!
Girl:*in mind* Caldern? But unless I'm mistaken that's a surname that belongs to a dead race.... could he-? Ah.. I see. So he is one of them after all.
Boy: *in mind* So... the Arkynoreans are still alive then. Lord Beerus told us they'd been wiped out several years ago! I guess.. he just forgot about them.
Baron: You can call me a Dark Elf. It's better people think that's what we are since they've forgotten us.
Boy: I see. Well then Baron, my name is Beat Ravenwing
Girl: And I'm Note Nightcrow. Nice to meet you. And... sorry if we thought you were a grim.
Baron chuckled and shook their hands before responding.
Baron: No worries. And it was an honest mistake. It's partly my fault for not showing my face and ears right away.
The three looked towards the center of the forest. It was time to head towards the ruins in the middle of the forest. The three agreed solve their differences and work together to pass this initiation test. They walked towards the center of the forest to meet their other teammates.

A/N: Now onto teams RWBY and JNPR.
Ruby fires off a few rounds from Crescent Rose to slow her down, then turns the weapon into its scythe form to catch the branch of a tree in her blade and fall downward at a slower pace.
Weiss, armed with Myrtenaster, summons a white snowflake circle under her and leaps off of it to the forest below.
Ren descends (with Nora briefly being seen next to him at a faster speed) and spins in the air, eventually using StormFlower's blades to spiral around the trunk of a large tree and hit the ground, brushing off his clothes before looking up to see...
Yang: Woo-hoo! Yeah! Alley-oop!
Yang, soaring right over the treetops, is using her gauntlets and its fiery force to push her through the air further and further north, spinning and laughing with each blast, even when she crashes through the leaves of a tree and leaps off two trunks to tumble to the ground.
Yang: Nailed it! (runs off)
Pyrrha, her weapon in sword form and armed with a shield, crashes through several trees and rolls on a branch, immediately shifting her blade into a rifle and looking through the scope at Jaune as he continues to scream and fall helplessly. Pyrrha coolly transforms her weapon again to its spear form, takes a moment to evaluate her throw, and rockets the javelin deep into the forest until a "THUNK!" is heard.
Jaune: (in the distance)
Pyrrha: (waving) I'm sorry!
In the middle of the forest, Ruby lands in a crouch, then darts off with a single mantra in her mind.
Ruby: (internally thinking) Gotta find Yang! Gotta find Yang, gotta find Yang, gotta find... (shouting) Yang! Yaaaang! (internally, now seeing herself partnered with various people) Oh, this is bad, this is really bad... What if I can't find her? What if someone finds her first? Well, there's always Jaune. He's nice. He's funny! ...I don't think he's very good in a fight, though. Ooh! What about Blake?! So mysterious, so calm... Plus she likes books! Then again, I'm not sure I'd be able to hold a conversation with her... Ugh! (shakes her head of daydreams) Okay... Who else do I know in this school? There's Yang, Jaune, Blake, Odyn (well sort of heh heh), his friends, aaaaannnnddd....
Time seems to slow down as Ruby skids to a halt in front of Weiss as she is turning to face her. She stops just in time for their eyes to meet and an awkward pause follows. This ends when Weiss turns on her heel and walks the other way.
Ruby slightly follows her as Weiss continues to walk away before she kicks at the dirt dejectedly.
Ruby: Wait! Where are you going?! We're supposed to be teammates...
Weiss is seen struggling through the forest, giving an occasional grunt or "Ow!" as she pushes plants out of her way. She brushes herself off and sighs in relief when she hears a voice above her. The voice was revealed to be Jaune, who was pinned to a tree by a spear from Pyrrha.
Weiss sees Jaune hanging a few feet in the air by the spear embedded in his hood and the tree behind him. As he gives up trying to pull it out, he looks down and sees Weiss, giving an embarrassed wave. Weiss simply heads back in the direction she came from and Jaune groans in dejection.
Weiss : (as she passes Ruby and pulls on her hood) By no means does this make us friends.
Ruby: (overjoyed as she's dragged away into the bushes) You came back!
Jaune: (seeing the scene and waving his arms) Wait! Come back! Who's going to get me down from here?!
The blonde then hears a voice from below him. It was Pyrrha, who was looking up at him with a smile on her face.
Pyrrha: (from below) Jaune?" (he looks down at his savior) "Do you... have any spots left on your team?"
Jaune: (crossing his arms) Very funny... (he eventually looks down at her and gives a smile, which she returns)
The scene changes to Weiss trudging through the forest, with Ruby back a ways behind her.
Ruby: What's the hurry?
Weiss: I will not let my mission be delayed because you're too slow! I swear, if I get a bad grade because of your- (a smiling Ruby suddenly appears next to her) What the...?
Ruby: I'm not slow, see? You don't have to worry about me!
Weiss looked back and was more than a little surprised and amazed at how Ruby had suddenly appeared next to her.
Weiss: When did...?
Ruby: Weiss, just because I don't exactly know how to deal with people doesn't mean I don't know how to deal with monsters! (gets an arm around a skeptical Weiss' shoulders) You're about to see a whole different side of me today, Weiss, and after it's all over, you're going to be like, "Wow! That Ruby girl is really, really cool... (somewhat mousily) and I wanna be her friend!"
Ruby disappears in a shower of rose petals, which Weiss waves away from her face just as she hears crackling and rustling in the bushes around her.
Weiss: (calling out to Ruby) You may be fast, but you still excel at wasting time! (silence, save more noises) Ruby? (the forest darkens, forcing Weiss to lean in to try and find her new partner as a pair of red eyes are seen glaring behind her) Ruby...?
The camera revolves around Weiss, as multiple pairs of red eyes stare at her from the bushes and a deep growl is heard. She turns around until she spots a large, jagged Beowolf emerging from a bush and approaching her.
Weiss: Ruby!
The Beowolf roars as the scene goes black.

Yang Xiao Long is walking and looking around. She's seen calling out for anyone to hear her.
Yang: Helloooooooo?
She keeps looking around for someone, missing the black shadow that suddenly zips by.
Yang: Is anyone out there? Helloooo?
She then stops and raises up her arms.
Yang: I'm getting bored here!!!!
She hears rustling in the bushes behind her and turns to see what it is.
Yang: Is someone there?
The rustling continues as Yang comes over and peaks inside the bushes.
Yang: Ruby, is that you?
A low, inhuman growl is heard, and Yang's head rises up as she stares at the creature.
Yang: Nope!
Yang quickly rolls to the side as an Ursa charges out of the green. She gets up and activates her Ember Celica, staring at the monster before another Ursa runs out behind her. She leaps over it, and its companion runs at her again, only to get knocked back by a fiery punch. The other Ursa and Yang charge at each other, and Yang manages to get under it and deliver several punches and a kick to send the creature back.
Yang: You guys wouldn't happen to have seen a girl in a red hood, would you?
The Ursai merely growl at her in response.
Yang: You could just say "no".
One of the Ursai stands on its legs and swipes at her twice, Yang barely dodging the attacks. The blonde laughs as she continues her dialogue with the grim.
Yang: Geeeez, you two couldn't hit the broad side of a ba...
Yang stops her insult. Before she can even finish her sentence, a single strand of her blonde hair falls in front of and onto the forest floor.
Yang: You... (closes her violet eyes, then opens them to reveal red, making the Ursai look at each other confused before Yang screams) You monster!!!
An inferno surrounds Yang for a moment, and she rockets forward, unleashing a devastating combo of flaming hits and blows on the offending Ursa, making it fly through several burning trees. The other monster runs over, but stops short at Yang's gaze while a tree falls to the ground behind her.
The blonde then glares at the grim, still angered.
Yang: What?! You want some too?!
The Ursa rears up and prepares to strike... right when a whirling noise is heard and the monster makes a befuddled noise, falling down a second later to reveal Blake Belladonna with her Gambol Shroud in the beast's back.
Yang pants in exhaustion while Blake recalls the weapon back to her hand, sheathing it on her back and smiling to the side (or the audience, if she broke the fourth wall). Yang, now purple-eyed again, speaks to her new partner over the smoking remains of the monster.
Yang: You know I could've taken him.
Blake: I'm sure you could have....

The scene suddenly changes to Weiss Schnee's predicament from earlier. She's deflecting the swipe from a Beowolf with her Myrtenaster and getting pushed back into the middle of the beastly circle. She holds out her sword as she goes through her dueling motions and practices.
Weiss: (in mind) Remember your training, Weiss. Head up, shoulders back, right foot forward — not that forward! — slow your breathing, wait for the right time to strike, and... (brings her rapier up, the revolver spinning) Now!
Weiss dashes forward with her loaded weapon at the Beowolf in front of her, just when Ruby suddenly appears between the two in a blur of rose petals and a swipe of her Crescent Rose scythe, landing a hit on the monster.
Ruby: Gotcha!
Weiss widens her eyes and screams as she quickly has to stop, swinging the sword in a random direction and creating a line of fire that sets a nearby tree ablaze, followed quickly by the rest of the forest around the clearing.
Ruby, distracted by Weiss' mess-up, is barely defended when the same Beowolf scratches at her weapon, knocking the younger girl into the heiress.
Ruby: Hey, watch it!
Weiss: Excuse me! You attacked out of turn! I could have killed you!
Ruby: You'll have to try a lot harder than that...
The duo wield their arms as the pack of Beowolves whine and growl around them. Ruby reloads her scythe just as a flaming tree falls near them. Weiss then suddenly grabs Ruby's arm, much to the raven and red haired girl's surprise.
Weiss: We have to go!
She leads Ruby out of the blaze as it engulfs the grass and sets the Grimm to running back the way they came or suffering in the fire. Ruby and Weiss stop a safe ways from the smoke and flames. Weiss leans over and pants as Ruby looks behind her.
Ruby: What was that?! That should've been easy!
Weiss: Well perhaps if you had exercised even the slightest amount of caution with the placement of your strikes, I wouldn't have set the forest on fire!
Ruby scoffs at this, thinking it really wasn't as big of a deal as Weiss was making it out to be.
Ruby: What's that supposed to mean?
Weiss: I'm just surprised someone who talks so much would communicate so little during an encounter!
Ruby: Well, I'm sorry you need my help to win a fight. I'm just fine on my own!
Weiss: Well, congratulations on being the strongest child to sneak your way into Beacon. Bravo!
Weiss begins to walk off without her partner yet again. Ruby, with an agitated shriek, unfolds Crescent Rose, slices a tree down to the stump, refolds it back, and follows her partner as the tree crashes behind her. Neither notice the large dark feather floating onto the fallen trunk behind them.

Meanwhile across the Forest, Pyrrha Nikos, armed with Miló and Akoúo̱, and Jaune Arc are making their way through the bushes. Jaune hears a noise far away and turns his head.
Jaune: Did you hear that?
Pyrrha: Gunfire. It seems some of our comrades have encountered the enemy.
They keep moving forward, Jaune still staring in the sound's direction as Pyrrha raises a branch to pass by and accidentally releases it right at Jaune's face, flooring him instantly. Pyrrha looks back towards him.
Pyrrha: Jaune! I'm sorry!
Jaune just laughs, lowering his hand from his cheek to reveal a gash from the wooden recoil. He then gets up as Pyhrra approaches him.
Jaune: It's okay. Just a scratch!
Pyrrha: Why didn't you activate your Aura?
Jaune: huh?
Pyrrha: Your Aura.
Jaune: Gesundheit.
Pyrrha: Jaune, do you... know what Aura is?
The blonde laughs and waves the question off, while avoiding eye contact with Pyhrra.
Jaune: Psch! Of course I do! Do you know what Aura is?
Pyrrha smiles at him and gets ready to explain as the scene changes to Lie Ren's trek through the forest's tall grass.
Pyrrha:[off screen] Aura is the manifestation of our soul. It bears our burdens and shields our hearts. Have you ever felt you were being watched without knowing that someone was there?
Jaune: [off-screen] Uh... yeah.
Ren stops and narrows his eyes, looking around him while a huge black Grimm serpent rises up from the grass behind him and quickly surrounds him with its large, hissing body. Ren adopts a fighting stance as the snake coils together in front of him and attacks with its long fangs.
Pyrrha: [back on screen, walking alongside Jaune] With practice, our Aura can be our shield. Everyone has it, even animals.
Jaune: Huh... What about monsters?
Pyrrha: No.
switching back to Ren as he leaps out of the way, the snake's mouth hitting the ground and instantly coming up again to hit a jumping Ren back with its snout.
Pyrrha: The monsters we fight lack a soul. They are creatures of Grimm, the manifestation of anonymity.
Ren lands in a crouch when the serpent encircles him again, and he unleashes his StormFlower before jumping up and firing at the creature.
Pyrrha: They are the darkness, and we are the light.
Ren kicks the snake's snout and slashes at its head.
Jaune: [off-screen again] Right, that's why we fight them!
Pyrrha (off-screen): It's not about why; it's about knowing.
The snake flows around Ren and tries to bite him again, but he flips over it and drives his weapons into its head, pausing a moment without sensing the serpent's white head behind him.
Pyrrha: Understanding dark and light helps us manifest our Aura. Everyone has some of both.
Ren turns and looks up at the white head as it launches itself at him, dodging it and landing just in time to see the head slither towards him. As it gets closer, he runs at it and leaps onto the black head, sliding over its body and blasting the other head.
Pyrrha (off-screen): By baring your soul outward as a force, you can deflect harm. All of our tools and equipment are conduits for Aura. You protect yourself and your soul when fighting.
Ren is unprepared for the white half to hit him with its head, knocking him off as he drops his weapons, and leaving him to merely raise his arms and distantly cry "No!" to the mouth of the black head.
Jaune then opens his eyes in revelation, like a light bulb went on in his head.
Jaune: It's like a force field!
Pyrrha: Yes, if you want to look at it that way.
Ren is now holding the front fangs of the colossal snake in his hands, glowing a faint, pulsating pink as he grips the teeth and yanks them from the monster's mouth, causing it to flail away. It attempts to bite him again, but Ren spins to the side and stabs a fang into its eye, rotating his arm to deliver a final blow that drives the makeshift weapon into its skull, which ripples, expands, and blows apart in a dark mess as its headless body falls over its fellow creature. Wasting no time, Ren runs right at the white head.
Pyrrha then walks up to Jaune and touches the side of his head.
Pyrrha: Now, close your eyes and concentrate.
Jaune complies.
Jaune: Uhh... Okay.
Pyrrha smiles and closes her own eyes, opening them as her skin glows and her irises shrink before shutting them again. The two stand there, now with Pyrrha glowing a faint red and Jaune a bright white.
Pyrrha: (mentally speaking) For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death.
She then places a hand on his chest before continuing.
Pyrrha: I release your soul, and by my shoulder protect thee. (Pyrrha stops glowing red and hunches over, tired.)
Jaune, who's still glowing looks at Pyrrha in concern.
Jaune: Pyrrha?
Pyrrha gets back up and smiles at Jaune, reassuring him that she was okay.
Pyrrha: It's all right. I used my Aura to unlock yours, but the energy that protects you now is your own.
She grins as the scratch from the tree branch closes up and disappears.
Pyrrha: You have a lot of it.
Jaune is now smiling and looking at his hands as the glow finally stops.
Jaune: wow....
At the same time, Ren stands atop of the body of his enemy, sliding the weapons into his sleeves and brushing them off before a strange, animal-like noise is heard above him twice. He looks up and meets the upside-down eyes of Nora Valkyrie.
Ren chuckles as he speaks back to Nora.
Ren: I still don't think that's what a sloth sounds like.
In response, Nora gives her friend a "Boop!" on the nose, causing him to smile and the scene cuts to black.
