Chapter 6: Chapter 5- Off Day: Odyn & Ruby
Hey guys RoseSaiyan2 here gain. So this may be a bit of a shorter couple of chapters due to this just being filler until Chapter 7 when we'll go over the last 2 episodes of Volume 1 of the Ruby story.
Thinking about how things will go later in the story I'll be using some of my own kind of logic to explain what happens. It'll make sense when we get to that point. And... although Dark Elves don't like humans very much, I think their anger would be more towards Cinder and ultimately Salem, though they still don't like Humans very much.
Anyways enough of me blabbing, onto the story!
I don't own dbz/kai/dbs, Black Clover, or Rwby and their characters. Those are property of Akira Toriyama/Toei Animation, (forgive me if I mess up his first name) Yuki Tabata/ Studio Pierot, Rooster Teeth/Monty Oum respectively.
Below is the opening for volume 1 of this story, just imagine it with the characters of this story: Team OHRF (Odyn's team), KDBNB( Khanna's team), Rwby, and JNPR
Rising Hope- Opening 1 (Irregular at Magic Highschool)
Ruby was seen walking along the sidewalk on her way from her dorm room, one sunny afternoon. It was the weekend, so she and her team had a few days off. The girl wasn't entirely sure what she would do, since she had the entire day to herself. She almost didn't know what to do with herself, that was the key word, almost.
As she continued to walk, she spied Odyn, the dark teen she'd was becoming very fast friends with. He was also seen in Vale by himself for some reason. She wondered why none of his teammates or those related to him were there with him. She decided to walk up and ask him.
Ruby: Odyn!
Odyn turned and when he saw Ruby, he smiled and greeted her. Ruby always had a way of brightening someone's day just by smiling at them.
Odyn: Oh, Ruby. What are you doing here?
Ruby: I was going to ask you that. I don't normally see you in Vale.... by yourself at least.
Odyn: Ah yeah, well I needed to restock on dust for my dust weapon. So I figured I'd come into Vale to take care of it since I had the day to myself.
Ruby: Huh.. I was going to ask you where your teammates were.
Odyn: oh them? Well... I believe Hailfire wanted to spend some time catching up with her brother, Baron, Roy was pulled into something by your sister, and I believe Flare went with Baron and Hailfire.
Ruby: Oh, so that's what Yang was up to... She wouldn't tell me anything. She just said it was none of my concern. Weiss said she had some errands to take care of today, and I don't know what Blake is up to. So yeah... I'm.. by myself today.
Odyn saw the look on Ruby's face, she was obviously a little disappointed she couldn't be with her friends today and it showed. Scratching the side of his head briefly, he thought of a way to cheer her up if only temporarily.
Odyn: Say Ruby...
Ruby: yeah?
Odyn: You think you could show me around Vale some more? I haven't really had the chance to see it in the daytime, plus I'm kind of still new here.
Ruby: Oh, of course!
Ruby's face lit up into a smile at this, something that was a welcome sight for Odyn. She was an odd one, but it just didn't seem right for her to he upset for some reason. Ruby was.. unlike any human he'd grown up hearing about, and strange as it felt to admit, he wanted to know more about her.
The two walked off on their own, unaware that Yang and Roy had been watching them the entire time. Yang smirked at the interaction between Odyn and Ruby, she could see a unique sort of bond forming between them.
Yang: 😏 Guess Rubes is spending the day with her boyfriend. Aw.. that's so cute!
Roy: 😅 Remind me why I'm here again?
Yang: 😏 I thought it'd be nice to spend a leisurely day together and get to know each other better ya know? Wouldn't you agree, handsome~?
Roy: 😅 R-Riiiiggghhhhtttt... And you just so happened to want to check up on your sister too?
Yang:😏 You know me well, good lookin~.
The scene then pans out from Roy and Yang after the two walk off together. Yang made sure the two would be close by though, just in case she saw anything interesting happen between Ruby and Odyn.

Back with Ruby and Odyn...
Ruby and Odyn stood inside of a dust shop, while they waited for their weapons to be restocked with dust. The girl was browsing all the different types of dust weaponry in a catalog she was skimming through. Looking at every kind of weapon with sparkles in her eyes, Odyn silently chuckled at this. It was nice seeing Ruby back to her normal self again.
She was an odd one to be sure, but that didn't bother him. In fact, he rather preferred Ruby stay the way she is. The girl felt Odyn' s eyes on her and turned to her head towards him.
Ruby: Is there something on my face Odyn? You keep staring at me.
Odyn: Oh no, it's just a relief to see you back to your normal self is all. It's refreshing in a way since you always have a way of brightening up someone's day by smiling at them.
Ruby felt herself slightly blush at this for some reason and she didn't know why.
Ruby: 😳 O-Oh, t-thanks for saying that Odyn... b-but you didn't need to tell me that to make me feel better.
Odyn: Ruby, I'm not saying that just to make you feel better. That's what I honestly believe.
Ruby: T-Thank you for that then, Odyn.
He smiled at her again and spoke up again ruffling her hair.
Odyn: It's no problem at all, Ruby. After all, we're friends right?
Ruby: Right! That's what friends do.
Ruby then went back to browsing the various types of weapons and dust Crystals within the shop. Odyn browsed as well turning his back to the girl. When the dark elf wasn't looking, Ruby looked back toward Odyn. For some strange reason, she thought he was the most interesting thing in the world at the moment.
It still felt like odyn may have been hiding something from her, but she'd discover what that was in time as she got to know odyn better. But, speaking of the Dark Teenaged Elf she met and had become very good friends with... She still didn't know all that much about him. That fact bummed her out a little bit. However, Ruby knew that could be easily remedied by spending time with Odyn. She glanced over at the aforementioned teen for a minute before focusing back on finding something for her dust weapon, Crescent Rose.
"Someday, I'll find out more about you Odyn... And when I do, I look forward to when we can be open with each other.," Ruby thought to herself.
She then paused as she thought about her interactions with the blue haired dark elf up until now. Ruby realized that he'd done something that she didn't have the courage to do so, up until now that is.
"Odyn's told me a little bit about his past, yet I haven't even told him about myself... Guess I haven't been completely honest with him..," She thought.
There was something she still didn't quite understand though, and that was why humans and dark elves hated each other so much. Or rather why humans felt the need to treat dark Elves so badly, it didn't make sense to her. They were all human beings, so why was there the need for such biased behavior towards one particular race?
"Hey, Odyn?," Ruby asked.
Odyn turned to the silver eyed girl with a smile.
"Yes, what is it Ruby?," He replied.
"Can I.. ask you something? It's something I've been wondering about for awhile.," Ruby told him.
"As long as it's a question I'm able to answer, then I'll do the best I can to answer it.," Odyn responded.
"I've been wondering... Why do dark elves not like humans very much? And... is there a reason why humans treat you elves so horribly?,"Ruby asked.
Odyn felt his expression harden, not at Ruby, but more of at the question itself. That.. was a very... difficult subject to talk about for Elvenkind.
Ruby saw the look of slight anger on Odyn's face at the question and wondered if her question had upset him. Despite not knowing him for very long, she didn't want to see him angry.
"O-Of course if you'd rather not talk about it, I understand.," Ruby said.
Odyn shook his head and smiled at the girl to ease her worries.
"No, it's okay Ruby. That's something I feel I should tell you as your friend. I'm not mad at you if that's what you were thinking. The subject of your question is just... very... difficult to talk about. It's a very sensitive topic among my kind.," Odyn answered.
Ruby's expression softened as she put a hand on Odyn's shoulder in empathy.
"Odyn... Just know that I believe you, even if everyone tells you your wrong. They can call you a monster, a freak, or any number of insensitive things, but I'll always have your back. You were kind to me my first day here, so think of this as my way of repaying that debt. You've helped me at times with your words, but I haven't done anything for you. So please Odyn, let me at least do this to help you.," Ruby said.
Odyn smiled back at her, he really appreciated that about Ruby. She was a friend unlike any other that he'd made before.
"Thank you, Ruby. I.. needed to hear that from you.," He said.
The girl nodded and smiled at him.
"Of course, it's no problem. I enjoy our talks Odyn, I feel like I get to know a little bit more about you and your people each time.," She said smiling.
Odyn nodded and then continued as he answered her question.
"Well Ruby, the simple reason for why Dark Elves are so horribly and wrongly treated is because of ignorance. Humans fear what they do not understand. And they refuse to acknowledge a race as equals that is many times stronger than them physically. The Elves also live for far longer than humans do, at least twice as long. So far that reason we were prematurely judged as a plague by humans. We're less than dogs in their eyes. From their perspective, Elves have no human rights, should only be slaves to humans and faunus, and should just keel over and die. We're freaks of nature according to the general human populace. We've reached out to them in peace, only to be stabbed violently in the back in return for our kindness. "
"Do you know how much we've had to endure at their hands? One race can only take so much abuse and ridicule before their anger turns into rage. And from Rage, wars are born.," Odyn explain.
Ruby's eyes widened at this.
"You're saying that a war could erupt from this?," Ruby asked surprised.
"Yes, yes it could. Never underestimate an Elf's wrath.," Odyn said.
Ruby was silent for a moment as she considered and processed what her friend had just told her. She was convinced of one thing. And that was the way in which Odyn & the Dark Elves were treated was very wrong.
"That's... not right!," Ruby said upset.
She then continued.
"The way in which you and your people are so horribly treated... it's wrong! No one should ever have to be treated in the way your people are, Odyn! Humans, Faunus, & Elves... we're all people aren't we? Why should we discriminate against one particular people just because they look a little bit different than everyone else? That's dumb if you judge other people solely on their looks.," Ruby said with her hands trembling in anger.
Odyn then smiled at her, that was the first time someone was truly upset on his people's behalf. Ruby was an odd one to care so much about elf kind, but he appreciated that fact about her.
"Thanks, Ruby. If only all humans felt like you do about us, then we wouldn't be in this situation. That said, we know not all humans are bad. Us Elves have... just been hurt by humans too many times. So we can't bring ourselves to trust or forgive humankind just yet. You really are an odd girl, Ruby.," Odyn said.
Ruby can be seen puffing up her cheeks as if she was cutely pouting in response to Odyn's comments.
"What's that supposed to mean?," Ruby pouted.
"Of course I meant that in the most endearing way possible, Ruby.,"The dark elf said chuckling and ruffling her hair.
Odyn went up to the counter as he had found the dust he wanted for his weapon. Upon purchasing it with the required lien, he began to walk out of the store. Ruby quickly followed him, so as to not be left behind by him.
"Hey, wait up Odyn!," Ruby called after the flame eyed teen.
Odyn just smiled as he waited for the silver eyed girl to catch up with him. Once she did, they began walking again.
Ruby then continued their tour of Vale as she showed Odyn around the city some more, with Yang & Roy following close by unnoticed.
As they continued to walk around Vale, Ruby asked Odyn something that had been on her mind for awhile.
"I was wondering Odyn...," Ruby started.
"Yes, Ruby? What's up?," Odyn asked.
"What are your parents like? You've briefly mentioned them before, but never all that much. So I was just kinda wondering what sort of people they were.," Ruby asked.
Odyn smiled at this, he could tell Ruby just wanted to get to know his people better. She wanted to better understand them, which was endearing. And that meant alot to him.
"Well... They're very kind people. They'll both be attending the vytal festival as special guests of headmaster ozpin, so you can meet them in person there.," Odyn said.
"Wait, really?! 😳 I mean (coughs to clear her throat and recompose herself) really?," She asked.
Odyn nodded and continued.
"My father's name is Berethon. He's very direct as is expected from someone in his position, but he cares for his family and people a great deal. Easily the nicest man among Elven folk that you'll ever meet. That said, He's very no nonsense and doesn't care for discrimination of any kind. If he sees that, he'll put a stop to it then and there.," Odyn said.
"He sounds really nice and like an amazing person.," Ruby said.
Odyn nodded and then continued.
"My mother's name is Hyatan. She's a woodland elf, so her appearance is notably different. She still has the dark skin like we do, but her hair is the most notable difference... along with being a bit more reserved than some of us other dark elves. She's the kindest woman you'll ever meet in your life. She will encourage you, listen to you, and generally make you feel very good about yourself by instilling confidence within yourself. She'll also push you to be better, and isn't afraid to be stern or direct when she feels the need to.
Both of my parents are very protective of their family. They won't allow any nonsense to be said concerning their family and race however. Plus... They're kind of a big deal. They're pretty important people.,"Odyn explained.
"So... if something bad were to happen to them, it'd be a headache for everyone?," Ruby asked.
Odyn nodded.
" Yeah, in more ways than one. It wouldn't be ideal for anyone to get caught in that type of situation.,"Odyn replied.
Odyn paused before speaking again.
"You know Ruby, you're alot like my sister was. I think the two of you would got along very well if she were alive.," Odyn said.
Ruby smiled at Odyn.
"Thanks. I'd really like to meet her someday. Though, that's impossible cause she's dead.," Ruby said.
Odyn shrugged and his response was rather cryptic, though Ruby thought nothing of it at the time.
"Who knows? You may just get to meet her someday soon.," Odyn said.
Ruby looked at Odyn rather quizzically at this response. That was a rather... odd answer for him to spew forth.
"Huh? What do mean by that, Odyn?," Ruby asked curious.
Odyn denied saying such a thing, despite Ruby's best efforts to get him to talk about it.
Later..
Odyn & Ruby walked along the streets of Vale when the silver eyed girl spotted her team. They waved to her signaling that they were heading back for the day.
Ruby turned back to Odyn who just waved back to her, this was a sign to her saying that he'd see her again later.
Odyn was met by his own teammates who bombarded him with questions about what he and Ruby did all day. He felt bad for Ruby, who was probably getting it worse than him right now.
Sure enough, he was right. Ruby's teammates constantly asked her questions about her day and how it went.
"So Rubes... how was your date with Odyn 😏?," Yang asked slyly smirking.
"I would like to know as well.," Weiss added.
"😏 Anything... interesting happen between you two, or did you just make out with each other?," Yang asked teasing her sister with a mischievous smirk on her face.
Ruby's face became as deep of a shade of red as a tomato at this before she spoke up and yelled.
"😳 I told you guys... IT'S NOT LIKE THAT WITH US!," Ruby said embarrassed.
The camera then fades into the sky as the scene goes black.
End chapter...
Ending is below just switch it with characters of this story lol
Seirei Gensouki -Ending 1: Elder Flower
Hey guys I hope you enjoyed this chapter! It was a little bit shorter, but I wanted to build a little more foundation into Ruby and Odyn's relationship, which is why I decided to have a shorter chapter just about them. Once their eventual pairing comes to fruition, their relationship will be more detailed in length.
As you can tell by the relations between humans and dark elves, it may be a little rocky once they go public with it. Humans and Dark Elves don't exactly like each other very much in this story, this will be accentuated throughout the story. This may change some of the events that occur down the line. The important events of rwby cannon will be there, but this story is kind of a hodge podge anyways so why not have it be a little crazy? Lol.
As you can expect, team crdl may play a part in the human- elf conflict throughout the story... at least at Beacon. I have some crazy ideas for future events in this story, so stay tuned!
Next chapter will continue Volume 1 of rwby cannon and will mostly stay in line with the show with... some obvious differences. That's all for now see ya in the next chapter!
Next time- Chapter 7- The Stray & hidden truths I
