Chapter 14: Chapter 14 - Throne of Dominion
The next ticket burned away, and suddenly, a massive object materialized before him, nearly filling the entire room.
"Oh, it's too big? What is this thing?" Atlas muttered, instinctively stepping back to make room.
Hovering before him was... a floating chunk of land?
[You have received Rank-A Item: Throne of Dominion]
[A throne resting atop a floating platform, summonable at will. Grants a protective barrier and increases both defense and mana regeneration.]
"A floating throne? Seriously?"
"So I can sit on this thing and issue commands from above during battle? Well... that actually sounds pretty awesome."
Without a second thought, Atlas stored the item in his Inventory and stepped outside. Once in the open, he summoned it again, and this time, he could take in the full scale of it: a compact, hovering piece of land with an ornate, majestic throne set right at its center.
Gripping the edge of the platform, he jumped up and settled into the throne. The seat was unbelievably comfortable, lined with soft cushioning that made him smile the moment he leaned back.
"This is amazing. Now, how do I control it?"
With just a thought, the throne responded. Smoothly, it lifted off the ground and floated higher, rising until he was above the Fortress itself.
From up there, Atlas had a clear view of his island. Below, Mira, Edrik, and Karian were gathered by the small pond, busy with their tasks. Off to the side, Morganna lounged near the tent, casually sipping a drink and nibbling on something.
Mira was the first to spot him. Her face lit up with pure excitement as she began jumping and waving her arms wildly.
"My Lord! What is that? That's so cool!" she shouted from below, drawing the attention of both Edrik and Karian.
Morganna? Not even a glance. She remained seated, entirely unbothered.
Atlas grinned as he guided the floating platform toward them. The movement was smooth. He could feel just how responsive and agile the throne was beneath him.
"My Lord, that's amazing! You look so cool sitting up there!" Mira called out.
Edrik gave him a respectful bow as the throne hovered closer.
And Atlas… couldn't help but notice it again. The way Mira spoke, the way she moved, why was she so ridiculously cute? He could feel the subtle tug of her passive ability already working on him.
Then another thought struck him, was this floating throne large enough to carry more than just himself? If so, it could serve as a highly efficient means of transportation. Could others ride it with him?
"Come on, Mira. Want to give it a try?"
"May I?!" she asked.
"Yes."
With a delighted laugh, Mira sprang into the air and landed on the platform with ease. "Whoa… hahaha!" she giggled.
The platform was indeed spacious enough for others to stand comfortably. Curious, Atlas tested a theory.
"Edrik, Karian. Join us. I want to see how much weight this thing can handle."
Without hesitation, both men leapt up and landed beside Mira. The floating land didn't wobble or dip in the slightest. It was rock-solid, holding all four of them with complete ease.
Now that was impressive.
Satisfied, Atlas guided the floating throne in a wide arc around the island, gliding effortlessly above the terrain. The controls were intuitive, the movement smooth. But even so, he was careful not to drift too close to the island's edge. He wasn't about to test what would happen if it slipped past the island's boundary. Falling into the abyss wasn't on his agenda.
After a few gentle laps around the island, his stomach let out a low growl.
Am I hungry again? he thought with a faint smile.
It seemed he was beginning to adapt to this new reality, especially now that his magical fridge could conjure food on demand.
He unsummoned the throne, watching as Mira cheerfully returned to the small pond. She was already hard at work, hoe in hand, as if she hadn't just been soaring above the island on a floating platform.
Wait... does she already have a weapon? Or is that just a regular hoe?
With that passing thought, Atlas headed toward the tent. As he neared, he noticed Morganna pointedly turning her face away.
He settled into a folding chair nearby, just a few feet from her.
Still not in the mood to talk, huh? Atlas sighed inwardly as he reached into his inventory, pulling out some dried fruit. He popped a few pieces into his mouth and took a long sip of water, letting the silence stretch comfortably around them.
His gaze shifted toward Mira, Edrik, and Karian, their voices carrying clearly across the open air.
"Edrik… hey, you're doing it wrong! Don't dig there. It's not neat!" Mira called out.
"But this spot has a great view from the Fortress," Edrik replied.
"No, no… hahaha, you clearly have no idea how gardening works, do you?" she laughed, shaking her head.
A short distance away, Karian was using his greatsword like a spade, carving deep grooves into the soil. Mira spotted him and practically gasped.
"Hey! Mr. Dragon Warrior! Are you seriously using your weapon to dig? Use your hands! That's a dragon hand, isn't it? Strong enough, right?"
Atlas chuckled softly as he watched the trio. They were fitting together better than he expected.
And watching them work like this, communicating casually, focused on the garden, reminded him of the weight he carried. The responsibility of being a Lord atop a floating island. It was about building something from nothing. And soon, in less than two weeks, they'd be fighting in their first grand battle.
He couldn't afford to forget that.
Alright. Ten standard tickets down. Ninety to go.
"Let's finish this. Who knows what I'll pull next?"
He drew out another ten standard tickets and tossed them into the air.
They floated upward, spun, then slowly descended. One by one revealing their colors.
Brown. Brown. Brown.
"Come on, give me something good."
Another brown. Then another. Still brown.
"Please, S-rank. Just one."
Finally, one ticket glowed purple before fading with the others. The rest were brown.
The results: nine Rank-Bs, one Rank-A.
Well, I guess I can't expect to hit the jackpot every time.
Without missing a beat, Atlas began opening the Rank-B tickets.
[You have received 20 Units of Mana Crystals]
[You have received 50 Units of Iron]

[You have received 50 Units of Iron]
[You have received 20 Units of Mana Crystals]
[You have received 100 Units of Wood]
[You have received 1 Rare Magic Missile Scroll.]
Atlas glanced at the newly acquired skill scroll in his hand.
[Mage – Magic Missile]
[Fires a homing magic projectile at a single target. The missile automatically tracks its target, dealing moderate damage upon impact.]
It was the second mage skill he'd pulled so far, the first being Fireball. He furrowed his brow slightly.
"Why are all these skills for mages?"
So far, he hadn't summoned a single unit with mage capabilities.
Still, he shrugged and tucked the scroll into his inventory.
"Better to have it stored for later. Just in case I summon a mage down the line."
Turning his attention to the lone Rank-A ticket, "Alright. Let's see what I get this time."
