Chapter 17: Chapter 17 - Floral Healer
One final ticket remained, the glowing red Rank-S ticket, still floating gently in the air.
His hands trembled slightly with anticipation. This was it, the big one.
Unbeknownst to him, Edrik, Karian, and Mira had all moved closer, drawn in by the tension. Mira was the nearest, skipping toward him with her usual spark and a grin that nearly glowed.
"Yeah! I can't wait to see what we get this time!" she chirped, her voice practically bursting with excitement.
Too cute!
"My Lord," Edrik said with a confident smile, "I always feel a thrill when I see a red ticket. It usually means we're about to gain a powerful new ally."
"My Lord!" Mira piped in again. "Please give me a new friend! Maybe something small and cute I can play with!" She giggled.
Stop talking, Mira!
Without another moment's delay, Atlas reached out and tapped the ticket.
It began to spin rapidly in the air, energy crackling around it. Then it slowly descended, trailing light. As it touched the ground, a green aura spread outwards. A glowing, magic circle formed beneath it, pulsing with the same vibrant green. The ticket was swallowed into the earth.
"This has to be a character," Atlas whispered.
Then it happened, vines erupted from the ground, entwined with bark and glowing threads of energy. Flowers bloomed in midair as the figure began to take shape.
Atlas leaned forward, eyes wide with awe.
Yes. It was definitely a character.
As the form fully emerged, he saw her clearly, a woman, graceful and serene, her very body woven with nature. Vines curled around her arms, blossoms decorating her golden hair. She stood calmly, surrounded by the essence of life itself, an elegant fusion of nature and magic.
Atlas grinned, his excitement cresting into satisfaction.
[You have received Rank-S Character: Lyrassa – The Floral Healer]
The first thing Atlas noticed was… the scent.
Even Mira paused mid-step, her nose twitching as she sniffed the air.
The fragrance was unmistakable, soft, floral, and overwhelmingly calming. It was as if they were suddenly standing in the heart of a blooming garden. And the scent was coming from her.
Atlas glanced at the girl they had just summoned. She met his gaze with calm eyes, tilting her head slightly before a slow, deliberate smile curved across her lips.
Is she always this slow?
She looked down briefly, and for a moment, Atlas half-expected to see roots anchoring her to the ground. But no, her feet were bare, but human.
"Hi, welcome," Atlas said, breaking the quiet.
The girl gave a graceful bow, her every movement as slow and fluid as water.
"Thank you for your kindness in summoning me, My Lord," she said softly. "I hope I can assist you in securing victory. I am a healer. My name is Lyrassa."
Atlas felt a headache coming on. It was like watching a video stuck on 0.5x speed.
Can she pick up the pace a little?
She had to be some kind of Nature Spirit. There was no way a normal person carried that kind of aura.
"Nice to meet you, Lyrassa. I hope we can work well together," he said politely.
"Woah… hahaha!" Mira exclaimed.
She skipped over to Lyrassa, eyes shining with curiosity.
"Hi! I'm Mira, and I love carrots!"
"Hi… Mira…" Lyrassa responded.
Without hesitation, Mira reached out and ran her fingers along Lyrassa's arm.
"Woah… your skin is so smooth! I love it."
Then, with a mischievous grin, she leaned closer, her eyes flicking toward Lyrassa's chest. "That part looks super smooth too."
"Mira?!" Atlas called.
"Yes, My Lord?" she turned to him innocently. "Are you curious too? Do you want to touch it like I did?"
"No. I mean!" Atlas stumbled over his words.
Off to the side, Edrik sighed deeply and massaged his temples. Karian, meanwhile, tactfully turned his head away, as if pretending none of it was happening.
"Give Lyrassa some space, Mira," Atlas said at last.
Mira giggled. "Thank you, My Lord, for giving me a new friend! Please summon more like her! Or even some male friends too. Someone as cute as Mr. Dragon Warrior, or as serious as Mr. Stiff Face!"
"Stiff Face?" Edrik echoed under his breath.
"Dragon Warrior sounds fine," Karian said smoothly.
Mira turned her full attention back to Lyrassa, leaning in and sniffing the air around her. "I love your scent," she said brightly, spinning around to face Atlas with her usual radiant smile. "My Lord, Lyrassa smells just like flowers!"
Lyrassa let out a soft laugh. "Ah... apologies. My body tends to release floral aromas... I hope that's not unpleasant."
"No, it's amazing!" Mira beamed. "So sweet and calming."
Atlas exhaled with a small smile, watching the two of them interact.
"Yeah, seriously," he murmured, half to himself. "Lyrassa's scent makes this place feel like a blooming garden."
Lyrassa turned to him and gave a warm, graceful smile. "Thank you, My Lord. I'm glad it brings you comfort."
But now, it was time to get serious. He needed to know exactly what Lyrassa could do.
"Let me check your status, alright?"
"Yes, My Lord," Lyrassa replied with a gentle nod.
[Name: Lyrassa]
[Level: 61]
[Strength: 64 | Agility: 48 | Intelligence: 432 | Constitution: 123 | Stamina: 154]
[Job: Support]
[Verdant Aura (S) - Nature's Resilience (A) - Nature's Staff (A) - Forest Heartbeat (B) - Nature's Perfume (B) - Flower Song (B)]
"Level 61?"
Atlas stared at the screen, blinking in disbelief.
Her stats were incredible, especially her Intelligence, which was sky-high. It was the perfect build for a healer. But what really blew him away was the S-rated talent she carried.
[Verdant Aura: Passively emits a calming, healing aura that gradually restores minor health to all nearby allies.]
[Nature's Resilience: Channels the strength of nature to enhance the endurance and defense of both the user and nearby allies.]
"Verdant Aura and Nature's Resilience," Atlas muttered, stunned. "These are... amazing."
She could passively heal everyone around her? No spells needed, just by being there, her presence alone would mend wounds. That was absurdly powerful.
And on top of that, she could bolster defenses and stamina? A healer who not only restored, but fortified her allies?
Simply being near her meant he, and his entire team, would constantly benefit from her aura. It was the kind of talent that didn't just keep people alive... it sustained them.
Atlas swallowed, fully realizing the weight of her abilities. A talent like this could shift the tide of a battle , especially if a large group fell under her influence.
She wasn't just a healer. She was a walking sanctuary.
[Nature's Staff: Enhances healing spells and generates a protective aura when wielding a magic staff.]
She used a staff, which meant Atlas would likely need to perform a few more pulls to find better equipment for her. If he could secure a high-quality magic staff, it would undoubtedly amplify her already impressive healing capabilities.
Even just having a basic staff should boost her potential quite a bit.
[Forest Heartbeat: Allows the user to sense the heartbeat of the forest itself.]
Forest Heartbeat?
That talent made perfect sense for a Nature Spirit. It likely gave her the ability to feel subtle changes in the natural world, like an early warning system. Shifts in the wind, tremors in the soil, or even the presence of monsters could all register to her instinctively.
The forest is her home, and her power.
This ability would be especially valuable during monster hunts, giving the team advanced notice of danger or approaching threats.
[Nature's Perfume: Releases a sweet fragrance that calms those nearby.]
[Flower Song: Causes nearby flowers to hum soft melodies that echo the user's emotions.]
Nature's Perfume. That explained the intoxicating scent that had enveloped them when she arrived.
And Flower Song? So the flowers around her literally sang in response to her emotions?
Those last two talents might not have much direct use in battle, but they gave Lyrassa a unique presence.
Atlas couldn't help but smile, watching her as she stood peacefully amidst the soft hum of nature.
This team… It's shaping up beautifully. And he was eager to see just what else Lyrassa could do.
"All right, everything looks good," Atlas said, smiling warmly. "Welcome to the team once again."
"Thank you, My Lord…" Lyrassa replied.
Mira instantly grabbed Lyrassa's hand, her eyes sparkling. "Come on! Let's go play in our garden!"
Lyrassa gave a slow, graceful bow before following her, but Mira quickly noticed the healer's unhurried pace. She giggled, then slowed down her own steps, matching Lyrassa's leisurely rhythm without complaint.
That's a serious boost to the team.
Now he had Edrik, skilled and dependable, perfect for managing the island. Karian, a frontline powerhouse. Morganna, a deadly and versatile fighter. And Lyrassa, the support they'd been missing.
And Mira?
Atlas paused as he watched the cheerful bunny girl already leading the literal queen of nature around their small garden like an excited child showing off her favorite toy.
His attention shifted toward the Teleportation Pad's progress. Once it was complete, they could finally begin exploring nearby islands, hunting monsters, and gathering the rare materials they needed.
With Lyrassa now on the team, he felt more prepared than ever to face what was ahead.
Yes… let's go hunt.
