Chapter 305: Chapter 305 Saber Unsheathed! Expand The Score! !
"He's going to lead Everton to a commanding victory at Stamford Bridge!"
In that moment, the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge shifted. Tens of thousands of Chelsea fans grew tense.
There was no denying it — Chelsea had to push forward. They had to attack.
But time was running out. Only five minutes remained in the first half, and with Chelsea's current form, it wouldn't be easy to break through Everton's defense in such a short time.
As expected, when Everton kicked off again, their players all fell back to defend. For them, there was only one mission: defend at all costs.
Under relentless pressure, Chelsea's players struggled to find any openings to attack.
The whistle blew to signal the end of the first half. The score remained tied at 2-2.
Undeniably, Everton, playing away from home, had put on an impressive display so far. Their midfield, in particular, stood out. Every Everton player had worked tirelessly, their collective effort keeping the game level with Chelsea.
At halftime, in the visiting team's locker room, Everton's coach Ronald Kobi expressed his satisfaction.
"I'm proud of every one of you," Kobi said, his voice filled with pride. "You showed great determination in the first half."
"But listen, the game isn't over yet. We've got 45 more minutes against Chelsea. I need you all to give everything, push yourselves to the limit, and keep creating threats!"
He paused, his gaze sweeping across the players. "If we keep up the performance we showed in the first half, we'll leave here with all three points. We can do this!"
It was clear that Kobi was brimming with confidence. He couldn't wait for the second half to begin.
Meanwhile, in the Chelsea locker room, the mood was much darker. Coach Antonio Conte was furious. His anger was evident as he faced his team.
"That was an embarrassing performance!" Conte barked, his voice sharp. "I'm ashamed of how you all played out there!"
"I've told you time and time again: this is Stamford Bridge. We must defend our home ground. We must win here!"
His voice rose with each word. "No matter what it takes, you need to start creating chances. We have to win this match!"
Fifteen minutes later, the second half began.
The home crowd roared, urging their team forward. Chelsea took the initiative, attacking with everything they had.
For Chelsea, there was only one goal: to win. A draw would mean nothing to them.
In the 49th minute of the second half, Chelsea finally got their chance to attack!
This time, after Cesc Fabregas received the ball in midfield, he remained calm and composed. Without any hesitation, he passed the ball out wide to Moses on the right.
Moses, after receiving the pass, initially thought about sending it straight to Morata up front. But when he saw three defenders crowding around Morata, he quickly decided to pass the ball to Pedro, who was positioned centrally.
To be honest, Pedro, since joining Chelsea, had been a regular presence on the field, but not always a key player. Still, Pedro had undeniable individual talent, particularly when it came to breaking through defenses.
As Pedro received the pass just outside the penalty area, he remained cool under pressure. With a quick touch, he moved the ball forward.
At that moment, the entire Everton defense was focused on Su Luo, Everton's primary threat. This shift in attention left Pedro surprisingly open.
Everton's defensive choice proved to be a mistake.
Without hesitation, Pedro unleashed a powerful long-range shot from the edge of the penalty area!
It was a stunning strike!
The shot completely disrupted Everton's defensive rhythm, catching them off guard. No one expected Pedro to fire from that distance.
And just like that, the ball sliced through the air, heading towards Pickford's right side.
Even though the Everton goalkeeper had been sharp all night, he had no chance to stop this one.
The ball crashed into the back of the net.
Chelsea were back in the lead, 3-2!
Pedro, overjoyed with his goal, sprinted to the bench and embraced Chelsea coach Antonio Conte in a tight hug.
It was a brilliant goal.
"Pedro scores with a stunning shot against Everton!" the commentator shouted.
"The score has changed again—Chelsea now lead 3-2 at home!"
"What an incredible game! Chelsea's performance tonight has been nothing short of fantastic!"
As the commentator, Zhan Jun, finished speaking, the live chat on the broadcast lit up with excited reactions from fans.
"I knew Chelsea would take the lead again!"
"Pedro's long-range shot was absolutely world-class!"
"You can really see the La Masia influence in Pedro's technique. Superb!"
"Even though Chelsea are ahead, they can't afford to get complacent!"
"Exactly! Everton's counterattack is still a serious threat!"
Meanwhile, on the Everton bench, head coach Ronald Koeman wore a grim expression.
There was no doubt—Koeman was frustrated.
Without wasting a moment, Koeman began shouting instructions from the sidelines, urging his team to push forward and create an immediate threat to Chelsea's goal.
