Forced By OAA To Be His Sucessor.

Chapter 67: Chapter 65: Dumbledore's Arrival... Jenkin's Resolve...

When Narcissa introduced the woman who had just entered the shop, Leo was momentarily stunned.

His interest was piqued—not just because of the respectful salutes from the Aurors but because it was rare to see a witch rise to such a position.

While there were many female witches working in the Ministry, some even holding high-ranking positions, becoming Minister for Magic was an entirely different feat.

From the establishment of wizarding ministries worldwide, only a handful of witches had ever reached this level of power.

Among them, one name stood out in history— Artemisia Lufkin

She served as Minister from 1798 to 1811 and was renowned for founding the Department of International Magical Cooperation, strengthening ties between wizarding communities worldwide.

Leo remembered reading about her in a history book—one he had purchased on Eileen's recommendation during a shopping trip.

A Respected Figure

"Minister."

Hearing the woman's arrival, Moody, who had just been conversing with Leo, straightened up and saluted her.

Leo's eyes flickered to Moody's expression— It was one of genuine respect.

If a hardened Auror like Moody held someone in such high regard, then this woman was undoubtedly a formidable leader.

Eugenia Jenkins, the current Minister for Magic, responded with a gentle smile and a slight nod, acknowledging Moody's presence.

Formal Introductions

Cough—

The room remained silent as both sides observed one another.

Sensing the awkward tension, Moody took it upon himself to break the silence with a deliberate cough before introducing her.

"Lord Morningstar... allow me to introduce you to Ms. Eugenia Jenkins, the current Minister for Magic of Great Britain."

Leo immediately followed suit, offering a polite smile.

"Hello, Ms. Jenkins. It's nice to meet you."

Smooch—

Instead of a simple handshake, Leo took her hand and kissed it in a gentlemanly gesture, the small but distinct sound effect drawing everyone's attention.

Eugenia Jenkins' face instantly flushed red, unprepared for such an old-fashioned display of courtesy.

Moody, standing beside her, eyed Leo with a complicated expression.

After a brief pause, Jenkins regained her composure, swiftly using Occlumency to suppress her momentary flustered reaction.

She offered a warm smile.

"Greetings, Lord Morningstar. I have heard much about your feat in protecting Diagon Alley from the Dark wizards. I wanted to visit you sooner, but circumstances delayed me. Regardless, I am pleased to finally meet you today."

Leo inclined his head slightly.

"It is an honor, Ms. Jenkins. Becoming a Minister at such a young age is no small accomplishment. I can only imagine the dedication and effort it took to achieve such a feat."

His words were genuine, and they struck a chord within Jenkins, stirring memories of her early days as an Auror in the Ministry.

The previous tension dissolved into a cordial conversation, as the two engaged in discussion.

Without hiding anything, Leo directly recounted the entire incident to Minister Jenkins.

From the moment a Veela entered the shop— To how a group of poachers attempted to forcefully take her away.

"Naturally, I wasn't happy with that."

He explained how he had confronted them, and how the so-called 'fight' was less of a battle and more of a one-sided beating in his favor.

Jenkins listened attentively, her expression unreadable.

But one thing was clear— Leo had just earned her full attention.

With one of the poachers leading the way, Leo and the Black sisters had arrived at a hidden location in Knockturn Alley—one that housed captive Veela.

As soon as the situation was fully assessed, Eugenia Jenkins' demeanor shifted completely.

The easygoing attitude Leo had sensed earlier vanished, replaced by a serious, commanding presence.

She nodded in understanding, then turned to him with sharp, calculating eyes.

"You do realize, Lord Morningstar, that Veela trading is still legal under wizarding law in Britain?"

Her tone was measured but firm, her gaze briefly flickering toward the Veela, who were watching her warily.

Their conditions were far from humane, yet the law still permitted this trade.

The moment Jenkins mentioned this, panic spread among the Veela.

Many of them tensed, their expressions hardening into hostility. \

Some even glared at the Minister as if she were an enemy, preaching laws that had failed them.

Sigh—

Leo closed his eyes for a moment before exhaling deeply.

"I know... but I don't agree with it."

His gaze locked onto Jenkins', filled with determination.

"I stand by my decision to help them. If a situation like this arises again, I will act the same way—regardless of who I might offend."

There was no hesitation in his voice, no attempt at diplomacy.

Leo did not care about making enemies if it meant doing what was right.

Jenkins watched him carefully, her previously narrowed eyes softening.

Then—

She nodded in satisfaction.

"Don't take offense,"

Jenkins said, her tone now lighter.

"I simply wanted to see where your resolve stands."

Leo raised an eyebrow.

She smiled, folding her arms.

"Since you're now involved in this situation, things might actually change. The fight to ban Veela trafficking—and many other unjust magical creature laws—can finally gain momentum."

Hearing this, the Veela visibly relaxed, though some still eyed her with hesitation.

Sigh—

Jenkins ran a hand through her hair, the weight of her position evident in her posture.

"You see, I've been pressured from all sides to abandon these reforms. Every time I try to push new laws, I'm met with resistance."

Her frustration was clear, and for the first time, she looked less like a Minister and more like a weary fighter in a losing battle.

Then—

Hehe~

Her expression shifted.

A mischievous grin spread across her face.

"But now that you're involved..."

She clasped her hands together, a glint of excitement flashing in her eyes.

"Everything changes."

Leo watched as she suddenly seemed rejuvenated, rubbing her hands together like a scheming mastermind.

"Now the pressure on my shoulders will be relieved. With House Morningstar's support, I can finally push these reforms forward. I promise you—I will not let you down. I will bring about real, revolutionary change!"

"Haha~!"

She let out a triumphant laugh, hands on her hips, as if she had already secured victory.

As Jenkins continued speaking, the Aurors inside the building silently exited, ensuring that no one would interrupt the conversation.

All except Moody, who remained behind.

Standing near the door, he sighed inwardly.

'Damn... I should have left with the others.'

His relaxed evening plans—a quiet drink, maybe some good company—were slipping away before his eyes.

'Now my peaceful rest is ruined... If I get involved in this, I'll be drowning in work.'

Unlike the battle-worn veteran he would become in the future, this Moody was still a young, free-spirited Auror who valued his off-duty hours.

And right now— He could already see himself getting dragged into this mess.

After a moment of contemplation, Leo weighed the pros and cons of what Jenkins had just proposed.

He listened carefully, his mind processing her words— But in the end, he didn't need Legilimency to tell that she was genuine.

Her heartbeat was steady.

Her resolve was real.

Nod—

Finally, after a long silence, Leo extended his hand.

"If your promise is real, I will back you, Ms. Jenkins."

His grip was firm, his expression serious.

"I hope you won't disappoint me."

Jenkins' eyes gleamed with undisguised joy.

A wide smile blossomed on her face as she grasped his hand in return.

"Thank you for your trust, Lord Morningstar. I won't disappoint you."

Then—

Her smile turned playful.

"And please, call me Jeni. That's what my friends call me."

Eugenia Jenkins had achieved her goal.

She had come here for two reasons—to secure House Morningstar's backing and to assess the current Lord of the Morningstar family.

Now, with both accomplished, she felt a sense of relief.

Leo, on the other hand, had earned her trust.

"No problem, Jeni. You can call me Leo. That's what my friends call me."

Wink—

With a playful wink, Leo smiled, signaling that there was no need for formalities between them.

Jenkins chuckled at his casualness, shaking her head in amusement.

After a bit of lighthearted conversation, she prepared to leave, knowing that the Veela and other magical creatures were now comfortable with Leo taking them to their natural habitats or accommodations he provided.

Chime—

The rusty iron bell on the door rang, signaling the arrival of a new visitor.

An elderly man stepped inside, dressed in a black trench coat and hat, his kind smile accompanied by curious, twinkling eyes.

Despite his still-youthful appearance, with only a few strands of white hair visible in his beard and on his head, his presence was unmistakable.

It was Albus Dumbledore.

And, surprisingly—

His fashion sense had yet to become the disaster it would later be known for.

Instead of his flamboyant, attention-grabbing robes, he was dressed in a practical, inconspicuous coat.

"Hoho~ Pardon the interruption."

With a gentle laugh, Dumbledore surveyed the room, his eyes twinkling with genuine interest.

"I heard about the situation here from Filius and thought I might offer some assistance—if these old bones can be of any use."

His grandfatherly tone was the kind that could soothe even the most anxious child.

However, the Aurors stationed inside tensed immediately, their expressions twisting with unease.

Several of them stepped forward, attempting to persuade him to leave—

But it was Dumbledore.

They could not simply force him out.

Only a brain-dead fool would try something so reckless.

In the end, they could do nothing except exchange uneasy glances as he strolled forward effortlessly.

"Dumbledore???"

Even Eugenia Jenkins looked stunned.

The most powerful white wizard—a man who preferred to work from the shadows—was suddenly here, in Knockturn Alley?

Leo, too, was caught off guard.

His eyes narrowed, studying the man carefully.

'What the hell is he doing here?'

"Well, you see,"

Dumbledore began,

"I came to Diagon Alley to purchase some raw materials for Professor Slughorn. He highly recommended a certain shop—Cauldron & Charm Apothecary—so I decided to pay it a visit."

He paused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

"It was there that I ran into Filius, who informed me about the situation here. So, naturally, I thought I'd come see if I could assist."

His smile remained warm, but both Jenkins and Leo gave him a long, deadpan stare.

Neither of them believed him—but for very different reasons.

For Jenkins, it was because she knew how Dumbledore usually handled situations he wasn't interested in.

For Leo…

'This old fox.'

He had read too much about Dumbledore's past decisions to take his words at face value.

This was the man who had let countless people suffer just to mold a savior.

This was the man who had let Voldemort fall into darkness when he could have stopped it.

Sigh—

Leo shook his head, pushing the thought aside.

'Why should I bother? It's none of my business.'

Just as he dismissed the thought—

"Let's go back to the shop."

Zip! Zap!

Before anyone could react, an arc of electricity crackled through the air.

In a flash, Leo vanished —and reappeared inside his shop, having transported every single Veela and his companions with him.

The electrified air crackled ominously in his wake.

Both Eugenia Jenkins and Dumbledore stood there, completely stunned.

Their eyes remained locked on the empty space where Leo had stood mere seconds ago.

Dumbledore's brows furrowed, his hand stroking his beard thoughtfully.

That movement, That magic— It was not Apparition.

Nor was it any known form of teleportation.

And, as far as he could tell— It was not even a spell.

Just as Leo was about to bid Jenkins farewell—

"Young man… what is the name of the magic you just used?"

Dumbledore's voice was calm, but his eyes gleamed with curiosity.

Leo turned to respond—

But before he could say a word—

Puff! Thud!

Dumbledore suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood.

His eyes widened in shock, his body trembling before he collapsed backward—unconscious.

"Dumbledore!"

Jenkins rushed forward, her face filled with concern.

Blood was leaking from his nose, mouth, ears, and eyes—a disturbing sight for a man so powerful.

Leo, however, stood frozen in place.

His hands trembled—not with fear, but with disgust.

His eyes were locked onto Dumbledore's unconscious form, his expression darkening.

"Ahhh—!"

He suddenly clutched his eyes.

"My eyes... What the hell is this?! What kind of… SHIT… is this?!"

Jenkins stopped in her tracks, startled by his sudden outburst.

But before she could question him—

Zip!

Leo disappeared in a bolt of lightning, leaving behind a shocked and speechless Eugenia Jenkins staring at Dumbledore's fallen body.
