Chapter 70: Chapter 68: Delphini Riddle... Letter From Hogwarts...
When Leo noticed that the early visitors were McGonagall and Filius Flitwick, accompanied by a family of three, he quickly deduced that they were likely a Muggle family escorting a young witch from their household.
"Welcome, Minerva... Oh! Filius, you're here too,"
Leo greeted them with a warm smile as he approached.
His gaze briefly flickered toward the Muggle parents, who seemed a bit wary of him, while their daughter was too busy curiously admiring the shop's interior to notice.
Sigh~
"Sorry for disturbing you this early, Leo,"
McGonagall said with a weary sigh and a bitter smile.
"The situation is a bit... unique this time."
She glanced at the Muggle family before beginning her explanation.
As McGonagall spoke, Leo, Kejoro, and Hagoromo Kitsune listened attentively.
By the time she finished, all three of them were stunned by what they had just heard.
Their eyes instinctively shifted toward the young witch, who was now gazing at the Puffskeins with wide, fascinated eyes—completely oblivious to the weight of the conversation happening around her.
Flashback...
The young witch's name was Delphini Smallvile, the daughter of Clark Smallvile and Louise Smallvile. She was 11 years old.
As usual, Filius Flitwick was tasked with visiting a new Muggle-born witch who would be attending Hogwarts that year.
However, this time, the situation was different.
Headmaster Dumbledore had personally instructed him to pay close attention to this particular Muggle-born and conduct a thorough inquiry into her living conditions.
This request surprised Filius—it was unusual for the Headmaster to show such specific concern over a single student's background.
His curiosity was piqued, but he didn't question it and simply carried out the visit as requested.
When Clark and Louise Smallvile first heard about magic and their daughter's admission to Hogwarts, they were skeptical.
However, once Filius demonstrated proof of magic's existence, their initial disbelief turned into pure shock—followed by excitement.
They were thrilled that their daughter would be attending a real school of magic.
As per Dumbledore's instructions, Filius carefully observed their facial expressions, watching for any hint of disgust at the revelation that their daughter was a witch.
Nod~
After closely monitoring their reactions, Filius gave a satisfied nod—there was no trace of malice or rejection in their expressions.
Just as Filius was preparing to leave after informing them that he would return the next day at 11 AM, a small voice stopped him.
"Professor... can I ask you something?"
Filius turned to see Delphini, looking up at him with curious eyes.
"Of course, Miss Smallvile."
With a gentle smile, Filius nodded and observed her closely, intrigued by what was on her mind.
The young witch hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"Well... my name is Delphini Smallvile. But why did the letter say 'Delphini Riddle'?"
The moment the words left her lips, the atmosphere in the room grew heavy.
Her parents exchanged uneasy glances, as if their daughter had just stumbled upon something she was never meant to know.
Filius froze mid-sentence, momentarily stunned by her question.
Sigh~
"My dear... we will tell you,"
Louise finally said, breaking the silence.
Her voice was tinged with sadness as she exchanged another bitter glance with her husband.
"But before that, please remember this—you are always our little rose, our life. No matter what, please forgive us for keeping this from you."
Gulp~
Hearing her mother's apologetic tone, Delphini's heart pounded.
She couldn't help but wonder—why was her mother apologizing?
Then, Clark knelt down to her level, his eyes filled with both love and regret, and gently took her hands.
"Delphini... the truth is, you are adopted."
The young witch's eyes widened.
"We adopted you when you were just six months old—from an orphanage."
He paused, squeezing her hands reassuringly.
"But no matter what, you must understand one thing."
Clark's voice turned firm as he looked straight into his daughter's trembling eyes.
"We are your parents. We love you more than life itself. You are our greatest treasure."
"F-Father... I... I—uhhh..."
Overwhelmed, Delphini threw herself into her father's arms, hugging him tightly as tears streamed down her face.
Louise quickly joined them, her own eyes glistening with unshed tears, wrapping both of them in a warm embrace.
After leaving the Smallvile residence, Filius Flitwick immediately reported everything to Dumbledore, detailing both the family's reaction and the young witch's unexpected discovery of her name.
Dumbledore listened carefully, then thanked Filius for his diligence.
Without hesitation, he sent a confidential letter to one of his trusted agents, instructing them to keep an eye on the family for their safety.
As he released the enchanted phoenix-feather quill to deliver the letter, Dumbledore leaned back in his chair, deep in thought.
Reaching into a bowl of Cockroach Clusters, he popped one into his mouth, his mind weighed down by concern.
"Tom... I hope you won't fall further down the dark path..."
When Minister Jenkins received Dumbledore's letter, she immediately understood the gravity of the situation.
With a serious expression, she wasted no time in assigning an elite Auror to guard the Smallvile family from the shadows—ensuring they remained unaware of their silent protector.
That very night, disaster struck.
A group of three Death Eaters launched a sudden attack on the Smallvile family, attempting to eliminate them.
However, their plans were thwarted.
Their assigned guardian—Gideon Prewett, a skilled Auror from one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight noble families, valiantly fought back.
Though Gideon managed to repel the attackers, the psychological damage was already done.
The Smallviles had witnessed firsthand the cruelty and bloodlust of the Death Eaters.
But what shook them most was the way the attackers fixated on Delphini, grinning wickedly as they attempted to end her life.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Gideon immediately reported the attack to Minister Jenkins, who wasted no time dispatching reinforcements.
A team of Aurors, led by Gideon's twin brother, Fabian Prewett, arrived shortly after, securing the area.
Meanwhile, Dumbledore, Flitwick, and McGonagall arrived as soon as they received the distressing news.
Sigh~
"Headmaster, can you explain why this Muggle family is being targeted by Death Eaters?"
Filius sighed, glancing at the once-cheerful Smallvile family, who now regarded them with quiet vigilance.
Dumbledore remained silent for a long moment, his sharp blue eyes observing the family, as if weighing how much he should say.
The Smallviles also turned to him expectantly, having heard Filius' question.
"Gideon, I will take the Muggle family with me."
Dumbledore finally spoke, his tone calm yet firm, giving an order rather than a suggestion.
Gideon hesitated for a second but then nodded, trusting the Headmaster's judgment.
With a gentle gesture, Dumbledore escorted the family inside, ensuring they were safely warded against prying eyes before he began his explanation.
"Ms. Delphini… your biological father is a dark wizard named Tom Riddle. He is also known as Voldemort."
A heavy silence filled the room.
McGonagall and Flitwick, who had remained composed until now, suddenly froze in shock.
The Muggle parents may not have recognized the name, but the two professors certainly did.
Their eyes widened in realization, and a shudder ran down their spines.
Dumbledore continued, his voice grim.
"Voldemort is a dangerous criminal, a Dark Lord who seeks to disrupt the peace of the wizarding world in pursuit of his own grand ambitions."
Even though Clark and Louise did not fully understand the weight of the name, they could feel the dread in the room.
Clark swallowed hard, gathering his thoughts before speaking.
"If Voldemort is her biological father… why does he want to kill Delphini?"
Sigh~
"Unfortunately, I do not yet know why he has targeted her,"
Dumbledore admitted, shaking his head in frustration.
Seeing the growing fear in the parents' eyes, he softened his tone and reassured them:
"Hogwarts is one of the safest places in the wizarding world. I promise you, your daughter will be protected."
The parents hesitated, but eventually nodded, trusting the wise old wizard's words.
After calming the family as best as possible, Dumbledore turned to Flitwick and McGonagall.
"I want both of you to stay with the Smallvile family tonight and escort them to Diagon Alley in the morning."
At this, Dumbledore reached into his robes and pulled out a sealed letter, pressing it into McGonagall's hands.
The parchment bore the official Hogwarts crest, but instead of the usual red seal, it was marked with gold.
McGonagall furrowed her brows, glancing at the letter with a puzzled expression.
"Minerva, I hope you can persuade him. This will help us resolve many uncertainties."
There was a glint of meaning in Dumbledore's gaze as he spoke, making sure the weight of the situation fully sank in.
Dumbledore had originally planned to give this letter to McGonagall when she prepared to guide new students to Diagon Alley.
But now, given the special circumstances, he felt it was best to entrust her with it immediately.
As Dumbledore departed, the Auror team remained stationed outside the Smallvile residence, standing guard in the shadows under Minister Jenkins' direct orders.
The night was still, but beneath the silence, a storm was brewing.
After consoling their daughter, Delphini, both Clark and Louise had many questions for Filius and McGonagall—but this time, instead of excitement, their tone was serious.
Understanding the parents' worries, Filius and McGonagall patiently answered their concerns, explaining the situation in the wizarding world in detail.
The entire family, including Delphini, listened intently.
Clark, in particular, took out a notebook, carefully jotting down key points he considered important.
The Next Morning...
As the sun rose, the Smallvile family prepared themselves for their journey to Diagon Alley, the place where they would step into the wizarding world for the first time.
A place where the past and future of their daughter would intertwine.
When the family finally assembled, both Filius and McGonagall were momentarily stunned.
Dark circles shadowed the eyes of all three family members, clear signs of a sleepless night.
The two professors could only pray to Merlin that the family would eventually recover and regain their former enthusiasm.
To ensure the Smallviles' safety, they were set to depart early, avoiding unwanted encounters with another dark wizard.
After all, the identity of the young witch was special.
Flashback Ends...
After hearing McGonagall and Filius' full explanation about why they had brought a Muggle family earlier than usual, Leo, Kejoro, and Hagoromo Kitsune were all stunned.
They couldn't believe what they were seeing.
Delphini Riddle—a person who shouldn't exist in this timeline—stood right before them.
This was impossible.
Especially since, due to Leo's involvement, the trajectory of the Black sisters' fate had changed—meaning Bellatrix had never come into contact with Voldemort.
And yet... Here she was.
Delphini Riddle existed.
Not only that, but her mother was not Bellatrix, and, most importantly...
Her biological father, Voldemort, wanted her dead.
Sigh…
Pushing these troubling thoughts aside, Leo turned his gaze toward the Muggle couple, who were already looking at him.
The moment Clark and Louise felt his gaze, their bodies stiffened, but they did not look away.

Leo took a moment to gather his thoughts before speaking.
"It's unfortunate that you've been exposed to the dark side of the wizarding world before seeing its light. But don't worry—you're safe here."
He spoke with a gentle, reassuring smile.
Seeing this, McGonagall couldn't help but smile as well.
As far as she knew, this young man before her had already left a deep impression on her—even with something as simple as offering comfort.
Sigh~
'If only all pure-blood families were like this…'
McGonagall sighed inwardly, thinking about the recent rise in open support for the Pureblood supremacy ideology within wizarding circles.
Nudge~
Filius suddenly nudged McGonagall, subtly signaling her with his eyes.
It took her a second, but then she remembered—the task Dumbledore had assigned her.
Cough~
"Leo... I have something for you."
Snapping out of her thoughts, McGonagall coughed deliberately to regain her composure, gaining Leo's attention before pulling a letter from her sleeve.
"Oh? What is it, Minerva?"
Hearing McGonagall's words, Leo raised an eyebrow in curiosity as he took the letter from her hands.
"You'll find out soon enough… but before that, please read it."
Instead of answering, McGonagall simply shook her head, prompting him to open the letter first.
Leo's eyebrows furrowed slightly when he noticed that the seal was gold instead of the usual red one he had seen in the movies.
Still, with mild curiosity, he broke the seal and unfolded the letter to read its contents.
[HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY]
[ Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)
Dear Mr. Morningstar,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits.
I write to you not only as Headmaster of Hogwarts but as one who acknowledges past misjudgments and wishes to amend them.
Firstly, allow me to extend my sincerest apologies for our previous encounter, wherein my ill-placed attempt at Legilimency resulted in an unexpected retaliation.
It was neither my intention to intrude upon your mind nor to challenge your natural defenses.
I now recognize the depth of your power and the sanctity of your mind, and I assure you that such a breach of trust will not be repeated.
That being said, Hogwarts is in need of a skilled and capable Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and I can think of no one more suited to the task than yourself.
Your knowledge, experience, and unique abilities would serve as a guiding light to the young witches and wizards who seek to master the art of defense.
I believe that your presence at Hogwarts would not only benefit our students but also serve as an opportunity to bridge past misunderstandings and forge a new path forward.
Should you accept this position, accommodations will be made available to you at the castle, and all necessary arrangements can be discussed at your convenience.
I understand that trust is not easily regained, and I leave this decision entirely in your hands.
Enclosed with this letter, you will find an official Hogwarts seal, marking this invitation as a formal offer of employment.
I would be most honored to welcome you to our faculty and to Hogwarts itself.
Awaiting your response with the greatest respect,
Albus DumbledoreHeadmaster, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. ]

Reading the letter's contents, Leo was left speechless.
'Me??? The DADA professor?! No way I'm accepting this! That old man must be trying to pull me into his side… Damn I am fucking stright oldman!'
As his mind raced, he suddenly recalled their previous encounter, and his expression darkened.
The memory of what he saw back then resurfaced, making his face turn ugly while he screamed in his mind.
