Forever Never Forgotten, Forever Never forget

Chapter 14: Moving On

Sango and Miroku started at Sesshomaru and Kagome. While not shocked, due to the story, Kagome had just told them, they were slightly speechless. They were not expecting her future telling to come true so soon.

Miroku slid his eyes solely to Sesshomaru,

"It would serve her no purpose to stay here, and yet she hesitates to move forward due to your link to humanity and its limited time," Sesshomaru spoke, answering their unspoken question.

Sango looked at Kagome,

"Im sorry, it's silly of me to ask you to move just for my selfish needs,"

This made Miroku look at her. "It is a big request. However, it's not a selfish one,'

Sango nodded in agreement.

"It would be unwise to refuse such an offer," Miroku scratched the back of his head. "It would be nice to have extra protection," He looked at his kids.

"Sesshomaru says he can give you a farm and land bigger than you have now," Kagome added in hopes they would agree. Still, she felt selfish for asking. Why should they uproot their family and life for her?

"Well, my dear Sango?" Miroku smiled at his wife.

"It would be nice to have a bigger place,"

With that, Miroku bowed. "Would are honored and accept Lord Sesshomaru,"

Kagome sighed inside, happy. The book, which told Kagome's past and future, now became all too real.

"I guess we should start packing" Miroku tugged Sango away.

"Miroku!" Sango whispered as he pulled her into their hut.

"Two of the things in Kagome's book are happening right now,"

Sango put up two fingers. "Us and Inuyasha?"

"We can't say for certain about Inuyasha,"

Confusion crossed her face.

He smiled bigger and wiggled his eyebrows, and this made Sango's face go blank.

"Sesshomaru,"

"What?"

"And Kagome,"

"Im not following,"

"He mate's a powerful and beautiful woman,"

"Wait, you think it's Kagome!"

"Shh, Sango!"

"Did you hit your head?!"

"Why else would he make us such an offer,"

"He told us why,"

"He wants Kagome close; he knows more than he is letting on,"

"I think you're crazy,"

"Come on; it's not that far-fetched,"

"Miroku Kagome didn't even want to come back here, she is still struggling with immortality, and her best friend won't show his face, and yet you think to pair her with his brother?"

His smile faded. "Well, when you put it like that,"

"I know you're a romantic Miroku, but I think you should keep this idea to yourself,"

"I will, but you better believe I'm going to keep a close eye on them two,"

Sango shook her head and began to pack, convinced her husband was losing his mind.

Sesshomaru left Kagome to help her friends and sent horses and carriages to help them. As promised, he offered them a farm, within a few hour's walk of his main domain. The house was plenty big with two bedrooms plus a living space and cooking space, and two upper loft spaces. The field had been abandoned but was salvageable for growing. It also had an outdoor cooking space, plenty of trees, and a river nearby. Two rather larger storage buildings are also set on the land.

Miroku and Sango were pleased and grateful. They were also the only humans for miles as others were too afraid to come any closer, but Sesshomaru promised them they would not be bothered and well protected.

"There," Kagome whipped her forehead after a long day of sweeping. "Done," It had taken them three days to settle into their new home.

"You are finished,"

Kagome jumped and was about to say his name, but Miroku beat her to it. "Lord Sesshomaru,"

Sango had hoped Sesshomaru's absences would curb her husband's insane idea, but it did not. She also forbade him from saying anything to Kagome; the girl had enough on her plate as it was.

"I assume everything is to your needs, Monk?"

"Indeed it is. Have you come to wisk Kagome away?"

"Miroku," Sango pinched his ear,

"Kouga is announcing his heir; I assume you would like to go as well, Miko?"

Kagome sat the broom down. "It would be nice to surprise him,"

"Very well," Sesshomaru stepped aside, and Jaken, who had been left behind, came forward with a box and handed it to Kagome.

"What this?"

"A dress!" Jaken yelled, "It's an honored event, and you can't show up wearing that on the arm of Lord Sesshomaru!" He pointed at her skirt.

"Jaken, leave her," Sesshomaru snapped, though he was right.

"Come Kagome, ill help you put it on," Sango ushered Kagome away, leaving the demon and the monk together.

Miroku eyed him,

"Do you have something you wish to say, Monk?"

"Who me? No, nothing at all,"

Meanwhile, Sango helped Kagome dress. Kagome looked into a mirror. She knew she would have to give up her clothing at something.

"At least he opted for the simple," Sango could see her sadness.

"All this time, I've been trying to erase the past, and now im in it, having to forget my future,"

But Sango was right; at least he went with simple. It was simply one silken layer of a bright blue with a white flower design, simple yet elegant. It had one thick tie but nothing overly complicated and no laters, but she would need to be careful in it.

"You look beautiful," Sango told her, making her friend smile.

"Well, let's not keep them waiting," Kagome exited and walked up to the men.

"Are you ready?" Sesshomaru asked,

She nodded; it's not like she had anything else to take.

Sesshomaru turned; Kagome bowed to her friends and ran after him.

"Thank you,"

"For?"

"The dress,"

"It was a requirement,"

"Still, you put thought into it,"

He looked down at her,

"It's beautiful but simple,"

He had debated for quite some time about this. Fewer layers were less formal and often a sign of poor wealth and or worn by pleasure workers, and Kagome was neither of those things. However, she was not custom to heavy layers and restrictive movement, plus it was Kouga they were going to see; no one would think anything of it.

He looked forward. "It will work for now, Miko; your thanks though not needed is noted,"

The rest of their trip was met with silence as she took in the land, and he took in her.
