Chapter 485: Bijan
The AI's voice responded promptly, "Major areas of the world have fallen to a massive zombie outbreak and other monsters. It is best if you are in these areas to stay inside and stay safe.
Reports are coming in that parts of China and Germany have fully fallen, but sectors have managed to create safe houses and push back most of the threats. No news on other sections. Is there anything else I can do for you?"
"No, that's everything. Thank you," Oscar replied, slipping the phone back into his pocket. He turned to Rosa, his resolve clear. "Let's go, Rosa. I also need to get my sword back at some point."
Rosa nodded, a fierce determination in her eyes. "Right. Let's move."
They set off through the ruins of New York, navigating the debris and destruction. The haunting melody of the flute and distant gunfire guided them both.
As they sprinted down 42nd Street, dodging debris and navigating through the chaos, Rosa and Oscar rounded the corner and came to an abrupt halt. Before them was a wild formation of men, their backs against the wall as zombies rushed forward, jumping around them, trying to break through their defenses.
"Wo-woah!" Oscar exclaimed. "They are really holding their own pretty good, don't you think?"
Rosa's eyes narrowed as she recognized the formation. "That's the Gambino Family," she muttered. Oscar's gaze shifted, and he spotted Vincent, the son of the Mafia boss, at the center of the group. Despite the dire situation, they were assisting many civilians, helping them to safety amidst the chaos.
Oscar couldn't help but chuckle. "You've got to hand it to them, all Americans sure know how to shoot."
"Yeah, but they're only normal humans. They can't hold out forever! Come on, let's back them up!"
"Even without my sword, I'm still as good as ten people at least," Oscar grinned.
As Rosa and Oscar slid forward, preparing to join the fray, they caught a glimpse of something alarming from the corner of their eyes. In a nearby alley, Jade was surrounded by eight monstrous creatures, each one resembling foes they had fought before, all closing in on her. At the center of the circle was a boy holding a flute, playing a haunting tune that controlled the monsters.
"Wh-what the! Rosa! Go help Jade NOW! I will handle these civilians!" Oscar shouted, his voice urgent.
Rosa nodded, determination blazing in her eyes. She sprinted towards Jade, her mind racing with strategies to combat the creatures and protect her friend. As she approached, she summoned her flames, ready to incinerate any threat that came too close.
Meanwhile, Oscar moved to support the group before he noticed almost all of them were wearing suits with a "G" emblazoned on them. Suddenly, it hit him: this must be the Gambino Crime Organization.
"Vincent!" Oscar shouted, trying to make himself heard over the chaos. "Is there someone named Vincent?!"
One of the men, his face contorted with a mix of exhaustion and irritation, snapped back, "And what is it to you, you fucker?! Can you pick up a gun and help fight or what?"
As the man spoke, a zombie lunged from behind Oscar, roaring. The man raised his gun, shouting, "Get down!"
Oscar flexed his hand back, obliterating the creature almost instantly with a powerful strike. He turned back to the man, shouting, "Is Vincent here or not?!"
The man's eyes widened in surprise. "So you're one of those strong freaks, huh?!"
Suddenly, another man placed his hand on the first man's shoulder and asked, "Hey, what's the issue?"
"This guy was asking for you for some reason," the first man replied.
Oscar turned to face the newcomer and realized it was Vincent. He was covered in blood, bruises, dirt, and more, but he was alive.
"Hello, who are you, and what can I do for you? How do you know who I am also?" Vincent asked, his eyes sharp despite the fatigue.
"Oh, Rosa mentioned you. She said you had a magical weapon and that you were like her boyfriend or something," Oscar replied quickly.
Vincent's eyes flared up as gunfire rang out around them. "Yes, how is she doing?"
Oscar took a deep breath. "She's fighting alongside us, trying to protect everyone. We need to regroup with her and Master Gojaro."
Vincent nodded, a determined look crossing his face. "Alright, let's move. We can't let these zombies overrun us."
"Right now the main driving force against us is that boy with the flute!" Vincent shouted over the chaos. "He seems to be in full control of all of this. He even took under some very strong women."
"I see," Oscar replied, his eyes narrowing as he looked past the group. His gaze caught sight of Rosa, who leaped high into the sky, her form silhouetted against the fiery backdrop. Below her, the monstrous creatures plunged inward toward Jade, their deadly intent clear.
"Shit, shit, shit, what do I do?!" Jade thought frantically, her grip tightening on the dagger held close to her chest. Everyone was preoccupied, leaving her feeling isolated and vulnerable.
The boy with the flute, standing confidently amidst the chaos, huffed and said, "Those pathetic cowards up and ran, but I guess that's okay. I got what I was coming for with this Angelic girl my Master requested."

Just as he finished his sentence, a fiery slam erupted in front of Jade.
Flames and smoke filled the air, the intense heat forcing the boy to look over in surprise.
The creatures around Jade halted, their movements frozen. Then, one by one, they fell lifeless, their bodies sliced into hundreds of cubes as blue energy trailed along their severed forms.
Rosa landed gracefully from her leap, her hands still ablaze with residual flames. "You're not taking her," she declared, her voice steady and filled with determination.
The boy with the flute sneered, his confidence faltering. "You think you can stop me? I control these monsters!"
"Not anymore," Rosa retorted, her eyes blazing with fury. She advanced toward him, each step exuding a powerful, fiery aura.
