Chapter 7: A Date, A Gift, and A Confrontationing
Chapter 7 – A Date, A Gift, and A Confrontationing
lying bed, Edric let out a satisfied sigh. His body ached, but it was the kind of pain he welcomed—a mixture of exhaustion and deep pleasure. Lina lay beside him, her body equally spent, her breath slow and deep. The room reeked of sweat and sex, the sheets stained, the air still heavy with the remnants of their intense night.
Edric smirked as he stretched, feeling the stiffness in his muscles. The bed was a mess, the floor was a mess—hell, even the walls had their fair share of stains.
"Hey, Safina," he called out lazily.
A soft knock came at the door, followed by Safina's voice. "Yes, Master?"
"Get me a towel. And clean up the room while you're at it."
The door creaked open, and Safina hesitantly stepped inside, her cheeks turning a deep shade of red as she took in the sight of Edric and Lina, both still naked under the dim morning light.
She quickly lowered her gaze, her hands clutching the towel as she approached the bed. "H-Here, Master," she stammered, avoiding eye contact as she held the towel out.
Edric took it, smirking at her reaction. It was amusing how easily embarrassed she got, despite knowing full well what had transpired.
Lina, still lying on the bed, stretched her arms above her head, letting out a small groan of satisfaction. "Hey, girl," she called out, a playful smirk on her lips. "Hand me a towel too. I need a bath."
Safina hesitated but nodded, quickly fetching another towel. As she handed it to Lina, the older woman sat up, her naked body on full display.
"I'll wash up first," Lina said, glancing at Edric. "Join me if you want."
Edric chuckled. "Tempting, but I'll bathe after you. Safina, prepare the bath for both of us."
"As you wish, Master," she said with a quick bow before hurrying to do as instructed.
It took nearly an hour before the room was clean and both Edric and Lina had finished washing up. Lina dressed herself and left, her payment in hand, leaving Edric feeling refreshed and satisfied.
A Strange Conversation at the Breakfast Table
Edric settled into his seat at the dining table, directly beside his mother, Seraphina. Across from him sat his father, Valerian, and his adopted sister, Alicia. But there was a new face at the table today—Magnus's mother, the former maid who had birthed his half-brother.
Dressed in an elegant gown that gave her a noble air, she exuded quiet beauty and grace. If Edric didn't already know her history, he might have mistaken her for a high-ranking lady.
The meal began as usual, with his father giving the order to start eating. However, something about his parents' demeanor felt off. His mother kept stealing glances at him, and even his father's normally unreadable face held the hint of a smirk.
It wasn't long before Seraphina finally spoke, a mischievous glint in her eye.
"I heard from the servants that you were… quite rough last night."
Edric nearly choked on his drink.
He set his cup down, coughing slightly. "Who's been saying such nonsense?"
His mother smirked. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe a certain little maid?" She turned her gaze toward Safina, who was standing at the side, waiting to serve.
Edric turned his head as well, only to see her blushing furiously, her eyes darting away in sheer embarrassment.
"Safina," Edric said slowly, a hint of disbelief in his voice.
"I-I didn't say anything bad!" she stammered, holding the tray in her hands like a shield.
Seraphina chuckled, amused. "Relax, dear. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. A young man your age should be having fun."
Edric let out a sigh, rubbing his temples. "Mother, please…"
His father, who had remained silent so far, suddenly nodded approvingly. "Two hours. Not bad."
Edric groaned. Why were his parents like this?
Seraphina, clearly enjoying his discomfort, leaned in slightly. "By the way, I heard you visited the library and summoned a book written by me yesterday."
The air instantly shifted.
The casual, teasing atmosphere vanished, replaced with something tense and unreadable.
Alicia, who had been quietly eating her meal, suddenly stiffened. She slowly placed her fork down and turned to Edric, her eyes narrowing.
"Wait… you picked a book written by Mother?"
Edric furrowed his brows. "Yeah. What's the big deal?"
Alicia's lips parted slightly, but no words came out. Instead, she looked at Seraphina. "Isn't that book… only summonable by you?"
Seraphina's playful smirk faded. "Yes," she admitted. "That's why I'm surprised as well."
The entire table fell silent.
Edric looked between his mother and sister, confused.
"The book was empty," he added. "Just blank pages."
At that, Seraphina and Valerian exchanged glances, something unspoken passing between them.
Alicia's expression became even more serious. "You actually opened it?"
"Yeah? Was that not supposed to happen?"
His parents' eyes held something new—pride.
Seraphina exhaled, placing her knife and fork down. "Meet me at the training grounds tomorrow, Edric."
"...Okay?"
Whatever was happening, he had a feeling this was just the beginning.

A Day in the Town – A Different Kind of Date
After breakfast, Edric turned to Safina. "Get ready. We're going to town today."
She blinked. "Master?"
"Come on, no complaints."
A short while later, Safina returned—still wearing her maid uniform.
Edric sighed. "Hey, idiot," he said in frustration. "Put on normal clothes."
She hesitated but obeyed. When she returned, her transformation was stunning.
Gone was the reserved maid, replaced by a delicate beauty in a modest yet elegant dress. She looked like a proper noble lady—innocent yet captivating.
They boarded the carriage, heading toward the heart of the city.
The sight before Edric was breathtaking—a fantasy medieval town in its full glory. Enchanted lanterns floated above the streets, carts moved on their own with magic, and spellcasters performed tricks for passing children.
But there was one problem—Edric had no idea where anything was.
"Safina," he said, glancing at her. "I don't know my way around. Today, you decide where we go first."
She blinked. "Master, I don't think—"
"That's an order," he cut in.
After a brief hesitation, she nodded. "Okay… I'll take you to a place with good food first."
---
An Unexpected Talent
They arrived at a small inn that doubled as a restaurant. The food was basic—steak and milk drinks—but something about it felt lacking.
Just as Edric was about to complain, he noticed Safina pulling something from her clothes—tiny spice packets.
She sprinkled a little onto their food, giving him an innocent smile. "Try it now, Master."
The difference was unbelievable.
His eyes widened. "Where did you get this?"
"I make it myself," she admitted. "I don't like the bland food here, so I mix my own spices."
Edric patted her head affectionately. "Safina, I like you very much."
She blushed deeply, fidgeting under his touch.

A Gift and a Bold Move
As they wandered the streets, Safina kept eyeing accessories but never bought anything.
Edric sighed. "Safina, buy whatever you want, or I'll get angry."
She hesitated, but eventually, he picked out two earrings—one with a blue emerald and one with a red. Then, he chose a beautiful necklace with an intricate design and gave it to her.
She beamed with happiness, her usual shy demeanor melting away. She even started leading him to different shops, warning him when prices were too high.
At one point, she chose another necklace for herself, but before she could pay, Edric took it from her.
The shopkeeper chuckled. "That necklace will look stunning on your girlfriend."
Safina turned beet red. "I-I'm not his—!"
Edric cut her off with a smirk. "He's right. Everything looks good on you."
The young women in the shop swooned. "What a caring boyfriend!" they giggled.
Blushing, Safina suddenly turned around, lifted her hair, and presented her bare neck.
"Master," she murmured, her voice soft yet bold. "Help me put it on."
The crowd erupted in cheers as Edric gently clasped the necklace around her neck.
She looked stunning.
But their peaceful moment was interrupted when Safina accidentally bumped into a group of rough-looking adventurers.
One of them sneered, towering over her. "Hey, girl. Where do you think you're going?"
Edric stepped in front of her, eyes darkening.
"Apologies," he said calmly, his expression neutral. "She didn't mean to bump into you."
The man smirked. "You know, we could just take her for the night. We'll give her back in the morning… if she survives."
The crowd grew silent, faces filled with pity. Some of the citizens whispered sadly among themselves.
What a cruel fate. Such a good couple, and now they have to deal with those thugs.
Edric's smile turned cold.
"Oh? Is that so?" His voice was light, but the chill in the air was unmistakable.
"Then why don't you try?"
