Chapter 18: Issei's Reincarnation

The next day unfolded just as Izashi had anticipated. Issei, following the pattern Izashi had foreseen, eagerly embarked on his date with Yuuma Amano. It was supposed to be a day of joy, a young man's heart racing with the excitement of budding romance. But Izashi knew better. He knew the fate that awaited Issei—the inevitability of death and the desperate call for Rias Gremory's aid that would follow.

Izashi wasn't particularly concerned. Saving Issei had never been his plan. Why should he? The boy's fate was sealed the moment he laid eyes on that fallen angel.

Still, Izashi had considered the logistics. He could always use his own magic to heal the boy if the need arose, but the idea of Rias or Akeno stripping down and pressing their naked bodies against Issei's was utterly distasteful to him. The very thought made his lips curl in mild disgust.

As the day progressed, Izashi found himself in his bed, enjoying the pleasures of life as he always did. The warmth of Rias and Akeno's bodies pressed against his own, their soft skin flush against him, was all the comfort he needed.

They lay there together, the three of them naked, Izashi's hands resting leisurely on their breasts. He had no shame, no embarrassment—this was his paradise.

Suddenly, the tranquil atmosphere was broken. Rias's expression shifted, her face betraying a sudden realization. She sat up abruptly, startling Akeno, who turned to her with concern. "What happened, Rias?" Akeno asked, her voice laced with worry.

Rias closed her eyes for a moment, gathering herself before responding. "I'm being summoned," she said, her voice calm but tinged with a hint of urgency. "It's the wish symbol my familiar gave to Hyoudou Issei. He's calling for me."

Izashi opened one eye, regarding her with a lazy, disinterested gaze. "Alright then," he said, his voice smooth and unbothered. "Wear your clothes and go." He waved a hand dismissively, his attention already drifting back to the comforting warmth of Akeno beside him.

Rias nodded, understanding the unspoken command. She quickly dressed, her school uniform appearing on her as if by magic, and in the blink of an eye, she was gone, teleported to the location where Issei's desperate call echoed through the ether.

As the room returned to its previous quiet state, Akeno turned her attention fully to Izashi.

With a playful glint in her eye, she tackled him onto the bed, straddling him with ease. "So," she murmured, her voice dripping with seductive intent, "does this mean we have some alone time for ourselves?"

Izashi smirked at her teasing tone, his hands sliding up her thighs to rest on her hips.

"Maybe…" he replied, his voice a low purr. "Who knows?" He leaned in, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek before whispering, "I guess you should be glad then."

Akeno's eyes sparkled with affection as she gazed down at him.

"I am truly glad that this is happening," she whispered back, her voice soft but filled with emotion. The love in her eyes was mirrored in Izashi's own as he looked back at her, his heart swelling with a rare tenderness.

Despite the physical pleasure they were sharing, Izashi's mind was still active, plotting and planning. He knew Rias would handle Issei's situation with ease.

With the power she possessed—thanks to the Queen piece he had bestowed upon her—there was little that could stand in her way. No, Izashi had more pressing concerns, like the looming issue of Riser Phenex.

Riser was a nuisance, a cocky upstart with delusions of grandeur. Izashi had already formulated a plan to deal with him, though the specifics would depend on Riser's attitude. If Riser showed arrogance, Izashi would have no qualms about crushing him personally.

On the other hand, if Riser was compliant and respectful, Izashi would handle the situation differently, perhaps with more subtlety.

But regardless of how things played out, one thing was certain: Riser was going to be defeated. He had no chance against Izashi—not on his best day, and certainly not on Izashi's.

The thought of defeating that lowly phoenix brought a small, satisfied smile to Izashi's lips.

He wasn't worried about Rias at all. With her strength, dealing with Issei's resurrection and the fallen angel responsible for his death would be a mere trifle.

Izashi let himself relax, enjoying the intimate moments with Akeno as the two of them cuddled, their bodies entwined in a comfortable embrace.

Tonight, there would be no intense lovemaking—just a quiet night of snuggling until they all drifted off to sleep.

Fifteen minutes later, Rias reappeared in the room, the familiar glow of teleportation magic fading around her. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself after what had been an eventful encounter.

Her eyes landed on the bed, where Izashi and Akeno were still nestled together, clearly enjoying each other's company. Izashi's hands were resting on Akeno's ass, and the satisfied smile on his face made it clear he was quite content.

Rias felt a pang of something—jealousy, perhaps?—but she quickly pushed it aside.

There were more important things to focus on. Izashi didn't even glance in her direction as he asked, "So, what happened with Hyoudou Issei?" His tone was casual, almost indifferent, as if the answer didn't truly matter to him.

Rias hesitated for a moment, confused by his apparent lack of interest. Why ask if he didn't care? But she knew better than to question him aloud.

Instead, she answered truthfully, "He was on a date with the fallen angel, just as we expected. She killed him because of his Sacred Gear." She paused, taking another breath before continuing.

"It took all my pawn pieces to revive him, and I had to use devil magic to heal his injuries. It was fortunate that I have more strength now, thanks to the Queen piece you gave me, Izashi-kun."

Izashi nodded in acknowledgment, a small smirk playing on his lips. "So, the boy has the potential of eight Pawn Pieces. Interesting…" His voice trailed off as he gestured for Rias to come closer.

Without hesitation, Rias obeyed, moving to lie down beside him. As she settled in, she felt the familiar warmth of his body against hers, her breasts pressing against his back while Akeno's chest was pressed against his front. His hands moved to rest on Rias's ass, giving her a squeeze that sent a shiver down her spine.

The situation was nothing short of heavenly for Izashi. He had no plans to escalate things tonight; there was no need for passionate sex or intense lovemaking.

Instead, he simply enjoyed the sensation of their bodies against his, the comforting closeness that lulled him into a state of contentment. They snuggled together in peaceful silence until the weight of sleep gradually claimed them all.

Meanwhile, the next morning brought with it a new reality for Issei Hyoudou. He awoke with no memory of the events that had transpired the night before—no recollection of his death or the miraculous intervention that had brought him back to life.

The events played out in his mind like a vivid dream, so real yet so impossible that he questioned whether it had actually happened at all.

As Issei went about his morning routine, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. He felt different, stronger somehow, but not in a way he could easily explain. His body seemed to have undergone a subtle transformation, though the changes were too slight to pinpoint exactly.

Issei sat by his bedroom window, staring blankly at the world outside as he tried to make sense of his fractured memories. Had it all been a dream? Or was it something more? He sighed deeply, his confusion mounting as he grappled with the strange, surreal experience.

His thoughts were interrupted by the sudden, sharp voice of his teacher. "Hyoudou! Are you even paying attention?" The man's stern gaze bore down on him, snapping Issei out of his reverie.

Issei blinked, realizing with a start that he had been completely lost in thought, oblivious to the classroom around him. He chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck as he tried to think of a quick excuse. But the teacher wasn't having any of it.

"It appears you're more interested in daydreaming than in this lesson," the teacher said, his voice dripping with disapproval. "Alright then, if you're so eager to be elsewhere, why don't you leave the classroom? You're not to return for the rest of the period."

Issei's initial panic was quickly replaced by relief. Getting kicked out of class wasn't exactly a bad punishment. If anything, it was a welcome reprieve from the confusing thoughts swirling in his head. Besides, it wasn't like he was particularly interested in chemistry anyway.

The chances of him passing this subject were about as likely as him giving up his obsession with breasts. In other words, absolutely impossible.

As Issei stood and made his way to the door, he kept his expression neutral, though inside he was actually quite pleased. The teacher watched him with a mix of frustration and resignation before turning back to the chalkboard to continue the lesson.

Once outside the classroom, Issei found himself with some free time.

Instead of wasting it wandering the halls, around aimlessly, he decided to head to the school grounds.

There was something that piqued his interest far more than anything happening in class: the girls' tennis match that was currently taking place.

It wasn't just any ordinary match, though. It was a match between Rias's peerage and Sona Sitri's peerage—two powerful groups testing their skills against each other.

Issei made his way to the tennis courts, his steps quickening with excitement. As he arrived, he could see the game already in full swing. Rias and Sona were leading their respective teams, their movements graceful and precise, yet charged with the underlying power each of them possessed.

The sight of Rias in her tennis outfit—her figure accentuated by the form-fitting uniform—made Issei's heart race.

He quickly found a spot on the sidelines where he could get a good view without drawing too much attention to himself.

Unbeknownst to Issei, someone else was also watching the match with great interest.

Izashi stood at a distance, his eyes keenly observing every move made by both peerages.

He knew that this match was more than just a friendly game; it was a way for both Rias and Sona to gauge each other's strengths and weaknesses. It was also an opportunity for him to learn more about Sona Sitri, the younger sister of Serafall Leviathan, one of the Four Great Satans.

Izashi's thoughts drifted as he watched Sona.

If he wanted to get closer to Serafall, he would need to go through Sona first.

He knew how protective Serafall was of her little sister, and if there was a way to gain favor with the Maou, it would be through Sona.

The idea of getting involved with Serafall intrigued him, and he couldn't deny the appeal of potentially witnessing some "sisterly moments" between the two—a thought that brought a mischievous smile to his lips.

However, Izashi was fully aware that pursuing a Maou wasn't something to be taken lightly.

If he were to make a move, he needed to be at the peak of his power, especially the power of the mysterious golden energy he had recently discovered within himself.

This energy was unlike anything he had ever encountered—its sheer potency far surpassed his usual magical abilities.

But there was a catch: using it for extended periods was dangerous. The energy was so overwhelming that it threatened to overtake his mind, driving him to act purely on instinct rather than reason.

Izashi had been careful in using the golden energy, only tapping into it in isolated locations where no one could sense its presence. He wasn't ready to reveal it to the world just yet, but when he did, he knew it would put him on a level beyond even the most powerful devils. The boost it provided was extraordinary, elevating his magic to a level that could contend with the mightiest beings, perhaps even the Heavenly Dragons themselves.

As the tennis match progressed, Izashi's thoughts returned to the present. Rias was holding her own against Sona, their rivalry evident in the intensity of their play. Despite the seriousness of the match, Izashi could see the underlying camaraderie between the two peerage leaders—a respect born from their shared experiences and mutual understanding of the responsibilities they bore.

Issei, meanwhile, was completely entranced by the match. His eyes were glued to the court, watching every move Rias made with rapt attention. He couldn't help but admire her—she was not only beautiful but also incredibly strong and skilled. The way she moved, the confidence she exuded, it was all intoxicating to him.

But as he watched, a strange feeling began to creep into his mind.

The events of the previous night, the dream-like sequence where he had been killed by Yuuma Amano, began to resurface. It had felt so real, the pain, the fear, and then the sudden darkness followed by… nothing. And yet, here he was, alive and well, with no evidence that anything out of the ordinary had occurred.

Issei frowned, trying to shake off the unease. Was it all just a nightmare? But if it was, why did it feel so vivid? Why did it feel like more than just a dream? And why was there a nagging sensation in the back of his mind, like something important was slipping away from him?

His train of thought was interrupted when Rias, during a particularly intense rally, turned her gaze toward him.

Their eyes met for the briefest of moments, and Issei felt his heart skip a beat. There was something in her gaze, a flicker of recognition that sent a jolt through his system. But before he could dwell on it, the moment was gone, and Rias was back in the game, her focus unwavering.

Unbeknownst to Issei, that fleeting glance wasn't just his imagination.

Rias had indeed recognized him, though she hadn't expected to see him there. She hadn't planned on approaching him today, not so soon after his resurrection, but fate seemed to have other ideas. For now, though, she pushed the thought aside. There would be time to deal with Issei later.

As the match drew to a close, with Rias's team narrowly edging out a victory, Issei decided it was time to leave. The confusion in his mind was still there, but he pushed it to the back of his mind. Right now, all he wanted was to go home and try to make sense of everything.

As he walked away from the tennis courts, he didn't notice the figure watching him from the shadows, a figure whose eyes glinted with something unreadable.

Izashi, having witnessed the entire match and the brief interaction between Rias and Issei, stood deep in thought.

He knew that Issei was more than just an ordinary human now—he was a reincarnated devil, bound to his sister Rias Gremory's service. But the boy's potential was still an unknown factor, one that Izashi would need to keep an eye on.
