Chapter 216: Chapter 216: How many women have slept in your bed?
While Luna cooked in the kitchen, Furina unpacked the remaining luggage herself.
But she soon ran into a problem.
"Luna!" she called out.
"What?"
"Where's my room?"
Luna pointed to a door. Furina's eyes widened in realization as she dragged her suitcase inside.
"Oh? This room's actually quite nice."
It was fully furnished, with even what looked like fake flowers from Mondstadt. A music box sat on the desk, the bed was neatly made, and the pillows emitted a soothing, comforting fragrance.
Wait a minute!
This must be Luna's room!
Furina hurried back to the kitchen and tugged at Luna's sleeve.
"What's wrong?" Luna asked, turning her head.
Furina pointed. "That's your bedroom, right? I was asking about my room."
"It's right there."
Furina looked utterly bewildered.
Then, as if suddenly realizing something, she exclaimed in shock, "You don't mean... we're sharing the same room, are we?"
"Yep. There's only one bedroom here."
Sharing the same house, the same room... That meant...
Furina blushed slightly. "You're not saying... we'll have to share the same bed, are you?" She hadn't seen any other beds, after all.
"Yep, one bed."
Seriously?!
Furina couldn't help but protest, "You never mentioned anything like this! Sharing a bed is just too... too..."
Too weird!
Especially with Luna, who was always teasing her. How could they possibly share a bed?
"Chiori, Nana, and Clorinde have all slept with me before," Luna said casually. "I didn't think it would be a problem."
She meant slept. Don't get the wrong idea.
What?
Other women had slept in this bed?
Furina wasn't particularly fastidious, but this revelation only deepened her reluctance.
"But if you're uncomfortable, I suppose..."
Luna abruptly knocked the fish unconscious with a single blow. "We could clear out the storage room and use it as a bedroom. But even after tidying it up, we'd still need furniture. It wouldn't be ready until tomorrow at the earliest."
A triumphant grin spread across Luna's face.
"So, at least for tonight, Furina, you'll have to share my bed."
Of course, Furina could still back out and abandon the cohabitation plan altogether.
Even unspoken, that option hung heavily in the air between them.
"...Just for one night," Furina muttered, but she had no intention of ending their shared living arrangement.
Furina wasn't one to back out easily.
Returning to Luna's bedroom, she moved all her belongings inside.
She carefully arranged her clothes in the closet, making sure to keep them separate from Luna's—though the difference in bust sizes made that obvious enough.
She placed her novels on the bookshelf.
"What a collection..."
There were books on everything from Fontaine Law and 100% Fashion Design to Mystery Case Files and even fairy tales—a bewildering variety.
Furina picked up her unfinished novel and added it to the shelf.
"..."
A strange feeling washed over her.
Placing her own things in Luna's room gave her a sense of contentment. It was as if she were imbuing the space with her own colors, her own scent—a part of herself.
Perhaps sharing a room with Luna wouldn't be so bad after all?
Cup here... what else? Furina arranged her belongings in Luna's bedroom, naturally keeping her toiletries in the bathroom.
"Huh?"
There were four cups by the sink.
One cup was unmistakably Luna's, adorned with a cat design.
Another featured a golden umbrella, and there was also one with a scissors motif, as well as a plain purple cup.
Each held a toothbrush, clearly indicating recent use.
One likely belonged to Navia of the Spina di Rosula, and another to Chiori of the Chioriya Boutique.
Could the last one possibly be Clorinde's?
Had Clorinde spent her recent vacation with Luna?
How many women have slept with Luna? Furina felt a sudden, inexplicable surge of irritation.
Well, they probably only come here occasionally...
She quietly arranged the cups in a corner, then placed her own next to Luna's—perfect.
She did the same with the towels.
After tidying up, Furina returned to Luna's bedroom and sat on the bed.
"Haaah..."
Drowsiness washed over her.
Neuvillette had arrived early, and her recent poor sleep quality meant she felt utterly exhausted now that she had stopped moving.
"Furina, dinner's ready!"
"Coming!"
But food came first.
The grilled fish tasted just as delicious as before, though somehow eating at home lacked the proper ambiance, Furina mused.
After a satisfying meal, Furina could no longer fight off her sleepiness, yawning repeatedly.
Luna, washing the dishes, casually remarked, "If you're tired, why don't you go to sleep?"
"I know."
But sleeping in Luna's bed... Furina hesitated.
It wasn't that she minded sharing the space. She just couldn't shake the feeling that she'd wake up to Luna's face.
Would Luna really not take advantage of me while I'm asleep?
After much deliberation, Furina decided to take a short nap anyway. After all, she'd have to sleep here tonight regardless.
The floor?
Absolutely not! She refused to sleep on the floor. And asking Luna to sleep there felt equally wrong.
The sofa? Also unacceptable—too uncomfortable.
The fastidious Furina had no choice but to return to their shared bedroom and lie down.
The moment her head hit the pillow, sleep overwhelmed her.
In her hazy dream, she found herself back on that familiar beach with the dilapidated cabin.
Luna, wearing her mask, stood by her bedside, gazing tenderly at her... But Furina knew it was merely a memory, a dream quietly surfacing from the depths of her heart.
During her acting days, she often dreamt of this scene.
Though fleeting and illusory, it always gave her a moment's respite.
Yet upon waking, she'd feel only loneliness, acutely aware it was just a memory, leaving her wistful.
Now, recalling this familiar scene once more, Furina felt only nostalgia. Not just because the curtain had fallen on her performance, but also because...
"Sleep well, Furina. When you wake up, I'll take you to buy anything else you need."
Slender fingers gently brushed aside a strand of her hair. Furina didn't open her eyes, only murmured a vague response.
"Mmm..."
Because she was right here now.
Not a dream, not a memory. This was the present, and it was the future.
Furina gently grasped Luna's hand and whispered, "Luna..."
"What is it?"
"Mmm..."
Furina mumbled incoherently, seemingly fast asleep. Her earlier words sounded more like sleep talking.
Luna sat on the edge of the bed, lightly stroking Furina's hair.
Undoubtedly, Furina was an exquisite treasure of breathtaking beauty, her radiant soul captivating Luna's gaze. Yet, touching her like this, Luna felt...
"So adorable."
