Future Me and My Love

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Meeting

Gen blinked her eyes open, groaning as she felt the dull ache from her arm and head. She tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through her arm, causing her to wince.

The door opened, and a woman in scrubs walked in. She was all business, her eyes scanning Gen with that clinical, no-nonsense gaze.

"You're awake. Good," Dr. Lee said, moving to check on her.

Gen flashed a playful smile. "Good? I'm practically invincible. You should've seen the building I saved today—total hero move."

Dr. Lee didn't even look up as she began examining the injury. "You're lucky you didn't make things worse. You've been unconscious for a while. And you're not invincible."

Gen's grin widened. "Yeah, but I'm close enough. I mean, I do have superpowers, after all. And hey, I'm a chef. Maybe I can cook for you sometime?"

Lee paused for a moment, her gaze sharp as she finished cleaning the cut. "You can cook, huh? I'm not here to chat about dinner."

Gen leaned back on the pillow, still grinning. "Come on, I'm trying to lighten the mood. You really don't want to let me cook for you? I'm a pro in the kitchen."

Lee finished wrapping the bandage tightly around Gen's arm, looking at her with a serious expression. "I'm sure you're a great cook. But I'm not here for jokes or flirting."

Gen raised an eyebrow, sensing a challenge. "Flirting? I thought I was just complimenting you. You're a pretty strong vibe yourself, Doc. You ever think about being a superhero?"

Lee's eyes narrowed, and her tone remained firm. "Listen, Gen. I'm not into women. And even if I were, I can assure you, I'm not interested in you. So let's keep this professional."

Gen was momentarily taken aback but quickly recovered with a teasing smile. "Whoa, harsh. I was just being friendly. Guess I'll have to leave the superhero fantasies to someone else then."

Lee stood up, clearly done with the conversation. "Just get some rest. You'll be fine, but keep your flirtation to yourself next time."

Gen leaned back, still smiling, but with a slightly more thoughtful expression. "Got it, Doc. I'll behave… for now."

Lee gave her one last glance before walking out, her expression still neutral, leaving Gen to mull over the exchange. She hadn't expected Dr. Lee to be so blunt, but there was something about the way she carried herself that made Gen all the more curious
