Future Me and My Love

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The Wedding Day

Gen stood in front of the mirror, adjusting her suit. A black, perfectly tailored suit with a crisp white shirt underneath. She smirked at her reflection. "Damn, I look good."

She turned to see Lee standing at the other side of the dressing room, getting help from a stylist. Lee wore a long white wedding dress, simple but elegant. Her hair was tied up neatly, with a few soft strands framing her face. She looked… breathtaking.

Gen whistled. "Wow, Dr. Lee, you sure you're not gonna run away? 'Cause you look too good to be stuck with me."

Lee glared at her through the mirror. "Shut up, Gen."

Gen grinned. "I mean it. You look beautiful."

Lee rolled her eyes but her ears turned red. "Whatever."

Gen leaned in closer. "You blushing?"

Lee pushed her away. "Go away, you're ruining my moment."

Gen chuckled. "Fine, fine. But don't forget, after today, you're officially my wife."

Lee groaned. "Don't remind me."

Gen smirked. "Oh, I will. Every day."

At the Wedding Venue

The wedding venue was decorated beautifully. Flowers, lights, everything looked perfect. Family and a few close friends had gathered. Wang Yan sat in the front row, looking serious as ever.

Gen stood at the altar, hands in her pockets, looking relaxed. She leaned toward the officiant. "Hey, can I say something extra when I say 'I do'?"

The officiant blinked. "Uh… sure?"

Gen smirked. "Nice."

Then, the music started. Everyone turned as Lee walked down the aisle. She looked straight ahead, trying to ignore Gen's stupid smirk.

When she reached the altar, Gen leaned in. "So, still not running?"

Lee sighed. "Shut up."

The ceremony started, with the officiant saying the usual words. Then came the vows.

"Do you, Gen, take Lee to be your wife?"

Gen grinned. "Of course I do. I mean, who wouldn't want her?"

Lee elbowed her. "Just say the words properly."

Gen laughed. "Alright, alright. I do."

The officiant turned to Lee. "And do you, Lee, take Gen to be your wife?"

Lee hesitated for half a second, then sighed. "I do."

Gen wiggled her eyebrows. "That was the most unromantic 'I do' I've ever heard."

Lee ignored her.

"Then by the power vested in me… you may kiss the bride."

Gen smirked. "Best part."

Lee barely had time to react before Gen pulled her close, dipping her slightly and kissing her. It wasn't too much, just enough to make Lee's face turn red.

When Gen pulled away, she whispered, "See? Not so bad."

Lee groaned. "I hate you."

Gen grinned. "Love you too, babe."

After the Ceremony

The reception was lively. Gen was enjoying teasing Lee the whole time.

Gen raised her glass. "To my beautiful wife, who will have to deal with me for a whole year."

Lee sighed. "I already regret this."

Gen winked. "Too late now."

Wang Yan walked over, arms crossed. "Remember, one year."

Gen smirked. "Yeah, yeah. You'll get what you want, don't worry."

Lee looked at her. "Gen…"

Gen just smiled. "Relax. Let's just see how things go."

Lee sighed, looking away. "I really don't know what I got myself into."

Gen chuckled. "Well, Dr. Lee, welcome to married life with me."

Lee groaned. "I need another drink."

Gen laughed. "That's my wife!"
