Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Unfinished Business
It had been a few days since their unexpected encounter at The Skill. Gen was back to her usual routine—teasing her staff, perfecting new dishes, and occasionally sneaking into the dining area just to check if a certain grumpy doctor showed up again. But no luck.
Meanwhile, Lee had been busy at the hospital, trying (and failing) to erase the memory of that annoying woman who not only broke discharge rules but also had the audacity to flirt with her. Every time she thought about it, she felt a strange irritation.
And then it happened.
Just as Lee was wrapping up her shift, a delivery arrived at the ER. A large paper bag with the restaurant's logo—The Skill.
A nurse placed it on the table.
"Dr. Lee, someone sent this for you."
Lee frowned. "Who?"
The nurse shrugged. "No name. Just said it's a thank-you gift."
Lee's suspicion grew. She opened the bag, and there it was—a neatly packed meal with a note on top.
"For the best ER doctor I know. Hope this isn't 'just okay' this time.
—Gen, the amazing chef (and your favorite patient)."
Lee sighed, rubbing her temple. She just doesn't stop, does she?
Before she could even react, Muk appeared behind her. "Oh? A secret admirer, Dr. Lee?"
Lee shot him a glare. "Eat the food or shut up."
Kim and Adhi walked in just in time to witness the scene.
Kim smirked. "Ooooh, is this from the chef?"
Adhi raised an eyebrow. "Wait, you mean the one who totally ignored hospital discharge rules and then flirted with you?"
Muk grinned. "The very same."
Lee groaned. "Why do I even talk to you people?"
Kim ignored her and peeked into the bag. "Well, if you're not interested in her, maybe I should—"
Lee immediately grabbed the food and held it close. "Touch this and I'll kill you."
Muk and Adhi exchanged glances before bursting into laughter.
Kim crossed his arms. "Wow. That was fast."
Muk smirked. "Possessive much, Dr. Lee?"
Lee huffed and started eating in silence. But as she took the first bite, she froze for a second.
Muk leaned in. "Judging by that expression, it's either poisoned or ridiculously good."
Adhi grabbed a spoon and stole a bite. "Mmm… damn, okay. If I got food like this, I might actually consider dating her."
Lee put her chopsticks down and scowled. "I'm not dating her."
Kim chuckled. "Sure, sure. Just keep saying that."
Lee rolled her eyes, but deep down, she knew she had just walked into another trap set by that ridiculous woman.
And somehow, she had a feeling this wouldn't be the last time.
