Chapter 199: 192 Lizard People

The blonde girl turned around and said to the Asian elder, "Go get two humans, knock them out, put them in a cage, and leave them here. We'll go out first."

After the Asian elder agreed, he turned and left. It wasn't long before several Brain Worm-infested humans pushed a metal cage into the secret space. Inside the cage were a man and a woman, both unconscious.

The blonde girl opened the control panel of the cryogenic sleep chamber, the text on it clearly not any language from Earth. The blonde girl operated it swiftly, initiating the defrosting process for cryogenic sleep, the Lizard Person lying inside the cryogenic chamber was about to awaken.

The blonde girl and the Asian elder stepped out of the space that was arranged like a laboratory.

The Asian elder asked with some curiosity, "Chancellor, aren't we going to stay inside?"

The blonde girl looked up at the Asian elder, her cute face devoid of any human expression, but the fear in her eyes was unmistakable.

"After our father awakens, regardless of whether he is angry or not, he will definitely want to feed," the blonde girl said calmly, "unless you want to become his food, it is better to stay away from him and wait for his summons after he has eaten."

Although the Asian elder's face remained expressionless, his body couldn't help but shiver. After all, Brain Worms had existed in human society for a hundred years. Even though they were a parasitic life form entirely different from human beings, they were deeply influenced by Earth's cultures and concepts.

Even for Brain Worms, which consumed brains, the act of eating humans was somewhat unacceptable to them.

The blonde girl then asked, "Have my offspring been sent out?"

The Asian elder replied, "As per your instructions, they have been delivered to an ordinary family in New York. The person who took them was human, and I do not know where exactly they were taken."

The blonde girl nodded her head, her blue eyes seemingly holding a hint of loneliness, and said, "That is for the best."

Just then, a sudden noise came from the laboratory. Both the blonde girl and the Asian elder were startled, and they did not even dare to peer their heads over to look.

The squeaking noise of metal being pulled apart followed, then came the screams of humans filled with sheer terror, and shortly after, the screaming stopped abruptly, turning into a series of creepy, crunching chew sounds and the noise of bones being crushed.

A few minutes later, ambiguous cries were heard from inside.

The blonde girl hurriedly lifted her skirt and went inside.

Standing in the laboratory was a gigantic Lizard Person, at least close to two meters tall. His limbs were exceptionally bulky, with well-defined muscles. His body was covered with fine, solid scales, dragging a thick but not very long tail.

The blonde girl bowed her head and also made a hissing sound.

The Asian elder knew that this hiss was, in fact, their father's language, which only a few members of the United Heart Society could speak across generations. The human body itself was not well-suited to produce such a sound, and to string it into a complete meaning was even more difficult.

The Lizard People's scales didn't gleam as they once had, and some areas even appeared shrunken, a sign of aging.

"Are you the leaders of the Brain Worms?" the Lizard Person said coldly. "You'd better have a convincing reason for thawing and waking me, or I won't mind crushing you into pulp."

The blonde loli was incredibly respectful, her childlike voice was cute and innocent, but the contents of her speech were anything but youthful and adorable.

"Father, our species is facing an existential crisis, and without your aid, there will be no Brain Worms fortunate enough to serve you in the future. All of these facilities could be destroyed."

The slit-like pupils in the Lizard Person's eyes twitched. "Before I fell into slumber, the Primate Clan of this planet had just touched the threshold of the industrial era. It would be at least another five hundred years before they could step into the realm of interstellar civilization.

Even if you Brain Worms were discovered by humans and exterminated, they couldn't unlock this Underground Palace that only a civilization of level 15 or higher could open."

The blonde loli hurriedly explained, "Father, the technological development of the Earthlings is indeed rapid, but they are indeed incapable of breaching this Underground Palace that we guard. However, the real threat isn't from the people of Earth."

"You mean an extraterrestrial force? Impossible! The entire Danlu Interstellar Cloud is influenced by its own gravity and the cosmic spatial faults, making it impenetrable to external interstellar civilizations. Otherwise, I wouldn't be trapped in this damned place. Ah, for how long now?"

The blonde loli replied, "Father, it has been 144 years since you arrived on Earth."

The Lizard Person said with self-mockery, "Have I been evading death for 144 years? Fine, now tell me, what kind of enemy are you facing?"

"They call themselves the Iridium Star people, from a distant area of the Galaxy, supposedly having come through an unstable wormhole to the Solar System."

"A wormhole? That's not impossible. However, I've never heard the name Iridium Star; no powerful interstellar civilization in the Galaxy could escape my knowledge. What's their level of technology? How many of them are there?"

"Their technological level must be very high, but we do not know the exact extent. A fleet composed of a few Iridium Star starships has reached Earth, with possibly not many people. They claim to be part of a much larger Empire, having occupied many planets.

But upon arriving on Earth, they allied with the inferior Earthlings, even providing Earth's country C with technology and absorbing citizens of country C into their ranks. Throughout the entire process, they haven't called for more forces from their so-called Empire, nor has anyone returned to their homeworld to report.

They only claim to have found something of their Chancellor on Earth and have decided to focus their development on Earth from now on."

The Lizard Person's lower jaw opened and closed a few times, which was the way they laughed, "Sounds like a bunch of swindlers to me. If they truly were a powerful Galactic civilization, they would not resort to these tactics. The civilizations that claim to value order wouldn't seduce primitive civilizations into joining them, but they would instead lure them into an alliance.

Based on what you've said, Earth is not an interstellar civilization yet. So, these so-called Iridium Star people should adhere to the High Council's rules of the Galaxy, avoiding official contact with Earth civilizations and not interfering with their historical process. Heh, they either don't give a damn about the High Council or they're simply yokels unaware of its existence.

Such a civilization isn't worth fearing."

Hope ignited in the blonde loli, as she felt the power behind the Lizard Person far exceeded that of the Iridium Star. "Father, if you could lend a hand, our clan might very well turn peril into safety."

The Lizard Person scoffed, "Perhaps these Iridium Star folks are indeed nothing much, but I alone am surely not enough to confront an interstellar fleet, even if it is just a bunch of frauds. This would require the intervention of the Teizene Empire from which I hail, but alas, my starship crashed in the asteroid belt 144 Earth years ago and I lost all communication abilities.

Had I not, I'd have transmitted the internal coordinates of the Danlu Interstellar Cloud long ago and the elite Slaughterer Fleet of Teizene would have arrived here, turning Earth into a food-producing territory for the Empire."

The blonde loli presented her treasure as if offering a gift, "The Iridium Star people have started selling some technology-infused products on Earth, including communication devices, though only sold domestically within country C. We managed to obtain some samples. I wonder if they could be of help to you, Father."

The Lizard Person nodded, "It wouldn't hurt to take a look."
