Chapter 203: 196 Intelligence

Reeldzer's quick thinking and valiant act allowed Bai Zhongqi to obtain some of the devices left behind by Harass, finally securing crucial intelligence.

The security intelligence department of Iridium Star and the Scientific Research Institute cooperated to investigate the origins of the Lizard People mixed with Brain Worms.

Bai Zhongqi had no interest in the ongoing war on Earth, even though from a military perspective, Army C was performing splendidly and the war itself was quite intense. Even with the newly completed Spratly Island, Bai Zhongqi had no intention of continuing to participate in the development of the new special zone, instead focusing entirely on the Lizard People situation.

Harass detonated a tactical nuclear bomb, leaving nothing of himself behind. Bai Zhongqi no longer had firsthand material to study this species; however, the battle armors of the Star Warrior agents such as Hasan, who stormed the underground lab, were equipped with recording systems, and Harass's appearance and some of his physiological traits were still recorded.

Linyin, a key talent at the Scientific Research Institute, had been dragged into the investigation by Bai Zhongqi with a pout. Virtually everything now required her assistance. The institute was currently severely understaffed, and Linyin often complained about being overworked.

She dared not neglect the matter of the Lizard People, who had used Iridium Star's quantum communication equipment to contact an unknown civilization in the universe, potentially putting Earth at great risk.

As soon as Linyin took on the task, she discovered important intelligence for Bai Zhongqi. Holding a data cable of a large device, she confidently stated, "This plug is clearly the same as the one we found on that crashed spaceship in the asteroid belt, meaning, could this Lizard Person be a survivor from that crashed spaceship?"

Bai Zhongqi had long suspected this, but now his suspicions were confirmed. However, as one question was answered, more arose, and he had no choice but to wait for the investigation team to quickly complete their work.

While analyzing data and attempting to decode the Teizene language and script, Linyin said, "Your Majesty, based on what we've seen so far, the interstellar civilization this Lizard Person comes from might have some strength, but their technical level is still quite a bit behind ours. We had achieved wireless functionality and data link exchange a thousand years ago, yet this civilization still has so many wiring boards and data channels in their spaceships."

Bai Zhongqi spoke with solemn seriousness, "We cannot be careless now. I have confidence in Iridium Star, which has had contact and exchanges with many powerful interstellar civilizations, but in the face of uncertainty about their intentions, we must collect as much intelligence as possible and develop corresponding strategies based on the intelligence we obtain."

He was rather pessimistic, considering the first piece of information sent was the coordinates of Earth; the likelihood of them being friendly was extremely low. Moreover, when his Star Warrior agents broke into the lab, the Lizard Person did not hesitate to detonate a powerful bomb to destroy the evidence.

Everything pointed to an interstellar civilization, somewhere in the universe, that could pose a threat to Earth. Find your next read at My Virtual Library Empire

The tense, orderly analysis continued for over thirty hours, during which Bai Zhongqi hadn't rested a single moment. The investigation team didn't disappoint, clearing up the contents left in Harass's devices.

After briefly reviewing the intelligence, Linyin became even more solemn and tense, briefing Bai Zhongqi, "From the seized devices, we've extracted the flight log of that self-destructing individual. This Lizard-like individual, named Harass, is from the Teizene Empire, a very powerful militaristic empire in the Box Star Territory, known in the Galaxy as the 'Cannibalistic Civilization'. They not only enjoy conquering other civilizations but also relish consuming intelligent beings, insisting that intelligent life is tastier and gives them more wisdom and strength."

Bai Zhongqi felt a chill run down his spine upon hearing such a title.

"The home planet of the Teizene Empire is a rich desert planet where those lizards eventually evolved into bipedal, intelligent beings, the Teizenes. Harass, 146 years ago, mistakenly entered a wormhole and was thrown here, similar to how our R19 Fleet arrived here. Harass referred to the Local Interstellar Cloud where Earth resides as the Danlu Interstellar Cloud, a region seldom traversed by interstellar civilizations in the Galaxy due to its poor material accumulation and the fact that the Local Interstellar Cloud is affected by space faults and unstable curvature, making it impossible to navigate normally and forming a natural spatial barrier in the universe."

Bai Zhongqi nodded, his mind turning to the Elder Race, who, as beings of the Remote Ancient Universe, wouldn't be hindered by such spatial barriers.

"After Harass's spaceship crashed, most of the equipment was destroyed, including his communication devices. Therefore, he came to Earth and released a unique parasitic organism he had engineered, the Brain Worm that we've seen. As it turns out, despite Harass's technology being inferior to that of us Iridium Stars, he was undeniably a genius. The Brain Worm was originally created by Harass as a form of 'food,' since the Brain Worm itself is also an intelligent life form that the Lizard People could consume.

However, Harass quickly discovered that this organism had evolved the ability to parasitize easily within intelligent species, achieving greater efficiency. The Teizene Empire had conquered many pastoral planets, where the inhabitants are kept as livestock for them. These species are also subdued and oppressed by the Teizenes, providing them with various resources and services, and going to war to exempt themselves from being provided as 'meat' to the Teizenes.

Many species continue to resist, and Harass planned to use the Brain Worm to parasitize these species, making them completely obedient to Teizene commands, dutifully serving as slaves and food. However, after creating the Brain Worm, he became trapped in the Solar System and ultimately only managed to release the Brain Worm on Earth, trying to take control of Earth's resources to prepare for his return to the home planet. Since he was already very old and not long for life, he resorted to cryogenic hibernation to preserve himself.

The Brain Worms developed on Earth on their own, creating the United Heart Society, finding the best ways to stay hidden and utilize humans. It wasn't until we came along, ready to eradicate them, that the Brain Worm became afraid and awakened the still-hibernating Harass. Unfortunately, the Sunarmon Mobile Phones we sold featured quantum communication capabilities and an open-source design platform, which allowed Harass to use our hardware, our systems, to write communication software that could contact the Teizene home planet, sending out that data packet."
