GAME CREATOR SYSTEM

Chapter 34: 34 – New Home

"I take it back, it's not going to be any fun living in this place..." I said in despair as I looked at the building in front of me.

The place was completely different from anything I had ever experienced before.

In front of the building there were several men in suits looking around, probably security guards.

Across the street was the beach... the apartment the director was renting me faced the fucking beach!

Seeing this I even began to doubt whether the market price for the apartment was really only $8,000...

Entering the building's reception area, I was looking around like a country bumpkin getting to know the city for the first time.

The floor of the place was made of a beautiful, reflective white polished marble, making me imagine how much work it must have been to polish it and leave it so clean considering it was used for us to walk on!

Arriving at reception, a woman a little older than me with a pleasant appearance looked at me in surprise.

Her gaze roamed over my face, then my ordinary clothes, the worn rucksack on my back and my stunned expression as she looked around curiously, but she didn't show any expression of disdain or anything like that before asking. "Can I help you?"

Nodding my head, I took out my cell phone and looked up the address that Principal Prescott had sent me and spoke to her.

"Is this the Moonlight Tower?" I asked, confirming.

"Yes, sir. This is the only Moonlight Tower in the area." She smiled.

Sighing as I realized this, I continued. "Well, I rented apartment 1102 and the owner of the apartment said that the keys were stored at the concierge."

Hearing what I said, the receptionist looked surprised, her eyes widening as she stared at me even more intently. "Ohh, I'll just call him to confirm that first, okay?"

I just nodded at her and started looking around.

I knew that her doubt was because of how I was dressing.

Compared to the standard of living that people who lived here must have, I must really just be a country bumpkin.

For her to think that I'm some kind of scammer who has somehow found out that the key to the apartment is at reception and is trying his luck to get that key to live here is not difficult.

After a few minutes the woman ended the call and called me over with a key on the counter.

"Welcome to Moonlight Tower, Mr. Brooks." She said with an even friendlier smile. "Mr. Prescott has confirmed that everything is fine and the keys to the apartment are here. The only warning we have is that when you bring the furniture to use in the apartment, just make sure it happens during business hours, as after that any kind of change is forbidden."

Nodding to her, I took the keys and went to the elevator.

Even the building's elevator was gigantic and luxurious...

Arriving on the 11th floor, I looked around and realized that there were only two doors in the corridor, another bad sign for me.

One door faced the other, with the door to apartment 1101 having a cute pink bow decoration and the door to 1102 having nothing.

Using the keys to open 1102's door, the sight I saw left me frozen.

Honestly, the place was beautiful.

The door from the hallway led into the living room of the apartment, a gigantic place with external walls made entirely of glass, giving an incredible view of the sea and the beach that lay in front of the building.

Connected to the living room was a modern kitchen, which at least had very elegant gray cabinets with an island counter in the middle.

The whole place looked like it had just come out of a romantic comedy movie where the CEO of a large company lived in a very beautiful and gigantic apartment.

What worried me about the place was that I would be responsible for furnishing it...

'Gee, I thought that earning $20,000 a month would be enough for me to live a life of luxury, but maybe that money isn't even enough to furnish an apartment like this...' I thought worriedly, looking around.

While I was absent-mindedly looking through the door of the place, a noise behind me caught my attention, causing me to turn and see a beautiful woman in her 30s looking at me in surprise.

"Hello?" she asked uncertainly when she saw me looking at the apartment with the door open.

"Is she the director's granddaughter? " I asked myself in surprise.

"Hi, I'm the new resident of 1102, I hope we can get along well." I nodded at her with a polite smile.

My statement seemed to surprise her even more. "You're going to live there? Did Samuel rent this apartment?"

'Samuel? She calls her grandfather by his name? " I asked myself confused, but not wanting to judge their relationship, I nodded. "Yes, I just graduated from the NFA and he offered me to rent this apartment."

Hearing my explanation, the woman was even more surprised, looking at me with interest and curiosity, as if trying to understand why the director had offered one of his apartments to a student.

But that only lasted a moment, before she cracked a smile and waved at me. "Nice to meet you, I'm Victoria Prescott, welcome."

Out of curiosity I looked at her apartment and saw that everything was completely decorated, making my chest ache as I imagined how much must have been spent decorating the whole place.

Following my gaze, she looked at her apartment and then at mine, seeing the difference in the places and the expression on my face, and let out a laugh.

"I don't suppose you have anything to eat there, right? I made some lunch, I'll prepare some for you as a welcome gift." She laughed before heading back into the apartment.

Looking at my apartment and seeing that it didn't even have a fridge, I sighed, accepting that I would have to buy furniture urgently.

At least the place already had a stove built into the island in the center of the kitchen, so as long as I bought a fridge and ingredients I could start cooking for myself.

A minute later, Victoria returned with a pink glass pot and a set of cutlery for me.

"Here, this is just what's left, but I hope you like it." She said with a polite smile as she handed me the pot.

Smiling back at her I nodded and thanked her."Thank you very much, when I can I'll make something for you too."

She smiled at my offer and didn't deny it.

"Then I'll take you up on it, but now I have to leave, I'll see you later..."

"Theo, Theo Brooks." I introduced myself embarrassed, realizing that I still hadn't told her my name.

"See you later, Theo." She waved at me and went to the elevator.

Holding the pink pot, I entered the apartment and closed the door behind me as I looked around the place.

This apartment was really big, with a huge living room that surprisingly had a door leading to an outside balcony with a jacuzzi and barbecue, four bedrooms, one of which was a master suite with a large bathroom and three smaller suites, a guest bathroom and a toilet in the living room, as well as a kitchen with a laundry room.

'Fortunately, at least there's a bed here. I was pleased as I took off the plastic that protected the mattress from dust and lay down on the bed. 'Rich people really know how to live... I don't think I've ever laid on a bed this comfortable!'

As I lay in bed, I took out my cell phone and looked at my bank account.

| Money Stored: $1,147 -> 2,723

I had earned over $1,500 in the last 3 days, making me feel like I had infinite money, but looking at the large apartment I would have to decorate to live comfortably, I knew that this money was far from enough.

'If only I had a credit card I could buy what I need and pay it off next month when I had the money, but who would give that much credit to an orphan like me? ' I thought disappointedly. 'The only way I'm going to manage is by buying things little by little as I earn money, luckily I earn money every day.

The first thing I decided to buy was a computer, spending $2,000 on an average configuration so I could get by for a few months and see the game's statistics.

When Runestone was doing better I could buy a better computer, but for now this computer would suffice.

With the remaining $723 I spent $500 to buy a simple fridge for the house and left $223 to buy groceries so I could eat.

With how much I earn I could eat out every meal, but I prefer to cook at home, as I'm too lazy to go out to eat every time.

'Better to have a fridge and eat what I want when I want.

Fortunately, the delivery system was fast, according to the website, these things would be home by the evening.

With a bed, a computer, a fridge and a stove, I could start to get by living here.

Looking out of the window and seeing the beautiful view of the beach in front of the building, I began to like it here a little more.

Apart from the problem of having to furnish everything, when I have the place ready I'll have a perfect home to live in, without having to worry about looking for a better place for years.

A house that's more comfortable than any place I've ever lived, and best of all, a place where I'll be able to relax and act however I want, whenever I want, without having to worry about the boring rules of the NFA dormitory or the orphanage.

'Now I know one thing for sure, the old man sure lied about the price of renting this apartment...' I thought skeptically as I looked at the place and its location.

Picking up the pink glass pot containing the food Victoria had given me, I smiled and sat down on the floor, eating my first meal in my new home.

'From now on I'll be able to devote myself 100% to my games, so get ready Players!'
