Game of Thrones: The Red Dragon Lord

Chapter 110: Chapter 110 Naval Battle (2)

As the warships from both sides drew closer, a thick, oppressive tension filled the air, as though it had become a fog that could not be dispersed. Gavin's bed crossbow, taking full advantage of its range, launched the first strike. A barrage of crossbow bolts shot forward, cutting through the air with a sharp, whistling sound.

The lead warship of the Lys fleet was instantly overwhelmed by a hail of crossbow bolts. Wood splintered in all directions like snowflakes, and massive, gaping holes appeared along its side as seawater poured in with the fury of a wild beast.

But the Reese fleet was not to be outdone. Despite the vicious assault, they roared with defiance, closing the gap with Gavin's fleet and firing back with their own powerful dragon-hunting crossbows. The sky became a storm of crossbow bolts, crashing together like black lightning. The air was filled with the chilling sound of their deadly flight.

The sail battleships, large and imposing, absorbed the attacks with their massive hulls, but the immense power of the dragon-hunting crossbows tore into them. Sawdust exploded from the ships as if invisible giant hands were tearing the wood apart.

Suddenly, a massive crossbow bolt shot from a bed crossbow—a dark spear from hell, rapidly piercing the deck of a Reese battleship. A deafening roar echoed as the bolt tore through the guard plate with unstoppable force. Wherever it passed, a bloody path appeared, cutting through the ship like a brutal reaper.

More than a dozen soldiers, caught in the line of fire, had no time to scream. They were struck down in an instant. Blood sprayed into the air like a fountain as limbs and torsos were torn apart. The area that had been filled with soldiers was now a gruesome, empty void, the sight horrifying in its brutality.

Taking advantage of its powerful hull and sharp collision angle, a sail warship from Gavin's fleet, like an enraged beast, charged straight into a Lysian ship that had tilted due to the flooding below deck.

A soul-shattering crash sounded as the two ships collided, and the impact tore the Lysian vessel in two. Broken planks and debris exploded into the air like fireworks, while towering waves shot up, as if mountains were rising from the sea. Lysian soldiers were hurled into the water like fallen leaves, their desperate cries and screams echoing through the chaos.

The distance between the warships had now narrowed to the point where bows and arrows could be launched. The archers on both sides entered combat mode, their focus shifting from survival to battle.

Gavin's fleet struck first. A volley of arrows rained down like a swarm of locusts, their force overwhelming as they pelted the enemy's decks. The arrows seemed to devour everything in their path.

The Reese soldiers, caught off guard, failed to raise their shields in time. The result was devastating. The screams of the wounded were gut-wrenching, and the sight of so many falling soldiers sent a chill through the air.

However, the surviving Lysian archers quickly regained their composure, their eyes burning with unyielding anger. They drew their bows, fully extending their strings. Their sharp arrows flew with deadly precision, striking Gavin's soldiers and sending them crashing to the ground. Some fell without a sound, their lives snuffed out in an instant.

A vicious exchange of arrows continued, the projectiles crisscrossing in the air like deadly sparks. The battle's ferocity had escalated to a fever pitch.

But the warships were still closing in. The soldiers, gripping their shields tightly and weapons at the ready, stood poised for the moment of docking. Their muscles were tense, their eyes burning with determination for the impending fight.

The battle had now reached a critical stage. Most of the warships were locked in combat. The Belleris, with its immense hull and powerful form, surged into the dense melee like an unyielding steel fortress.

Wherever it moved, the sea itself seemed to tremble, waves rising in towering walls before crashing back down. The deafening sound of the Belleris colliding with a Lysian ship reverberated through the air, as though the heavens themselves had cracked open.

As the ship continued to move, its hull released a steady stream of arrows, so thick that they seemed to block out the sky.

Amid the chaos, Gavin soared down on Syndor, his mighty dragon, cutting through the battlefield like a blade. The dragon's wings beat with power, and the air itself seemed to tremble in response.

As some of the Reese crossbowmen saw Syndor descending, their hearts clenched in fear. They hastily adjusted the aim of their dragon-hunting crossbows, desperate to target the flying beast.

But the relentless rain of arrows from Gavin's fleet caused their hands to shake. Their aim faltered as their nerves were tested under the pressure.

By the time Gavin was close enough to the battlefield, only two or three crossbows managed to fire. But Syndor was far too swift, his wings beating gracefully as he evaded the incoming projectiles. His movements were elegant and fluid, like a shadow moving through the sky.

Gavin wasted no time. With his eyes narrowing, he loaded his Keel Bow and aimed at a Lysian warship that had just fired a crossbow. A flaming arrow shot forward, streaking through the air like a meteor. The arrow struck the dragon-hunting crossbow with explosive force, obliterating it in a burst of fire and metal. The dragon-hunting crossbow was blown to pieces, and nearby Reese soldiers were shredded by the blast. The remaining soldiers, eyes wide with terror, were plunged into panic.

Without hesitation, Syndor flew over the wreckage of the ship, opening his massive dragon jaws. A torrent of fire surged from his mouth, turning the enemy deck into an inferno. The flames roared, consuming everything in their path. The heat was so intense that the very air seemed to ignite. The screams of the soldiers were drowned out by the roaring flames as they were quickly consumed.

The fire spread across the ship's sails and ropes like a demonic force. The entire warship was soon engulfed by the blaze.

Syndor did not pull back. Instead, the dragon flew closer, spraying more dragonfire at the Reese warship beside it. The heat and impact of the flames created a massive hole in the side of the ship. The flames surged into the ship's interior, burning everything in their path. The fire erupted violently from the cracks in the deck, and the entire ship was rapidly consumed by the flames.

With the combined might of the sailing warships and Syndor's dragonfire, Gavin's fleet quickly gained the upper hand over the Reese fleet. The battlefield became a scene of chaos, with war cries, the splintering of wood, and the sound of destruction filling the air. The sea churned with the noise of battle, and the atmosphere became a cacophony of horror and violence.

Some of Gavin's soldiers, their spirits ignited by the fury of battle, could no longer contain their bloodlust. Their eyes burned red as they leapt from their own ships, agile and fearless. They crashed onto the decks of Reese's warships, intent on starting a savage boarding fight.

"Kill!" the soldiers of Gavin's fleet shouted, their weapons gleaming with deadly intent. The blades glinted in the sunlight, reflecting the unwavering conviction in their eyes. The Reese soldiers, though filled with fear, did not back down. They gritted their teeth and fought back, their determination shining through the terror that gripped them.
