Chapter 5: Chapter 5: It's Really the Same as in the Game

Bronya's voice broke the silence, her usual stoic tone laced with disbelief. "Wait a minute... Are you saying we don't have to do anything for the development of this game?"

Mo Li nodded confidently. "That's correct. The game is already finished. You won't need to worry about programming, planning, or even art. Everything's been taken care of."

The room fell silent as the group exchanged stunned glances.

"You... did all of it yourself?" Bronya's usually unreadable expression shifted, her surprise clear for once.

Mo Li chuckled, scratching the back of his head. "Well... yes, I did."

Of course, he couldn't exactly tell them the truth about the system that had granted him the game. Instead, he opted for a vague explanation, hoping it would suffice.

"That's impossible!" Rita exclaimed, her eyes narrowing. "3D character modeling, architecture design, terrain creation, art direction, interface design, plot development, level planning, and balancing the numbers... you're telling us you did all of that alone?"

Mo Li sighed, raising a hand to his forehead. "I know it sounds crazy, but it's the truth. I assure you, this game is entirely my work. And, for the record, I'm not stupid enough to steal someone else's project."

The group murmured amongst themselves, still clearly skeptical.

"You don't need to worry," Mo Li added, his tone steady. "This game belongs entirely to me. You have my word."

After a moment of hesitation, the girls seemed to relax—though a flicker of doubt remained in their eyes.

A Special Request

Youlan finally raised her hand, her expression hesitant. "Um... I have a question. The character in the game... can you not use my sister's likeness?"

Mo Li froze. Inwardly, he groaned. Without her, how can it still be called Honkai III?

After a moment of thought, he forced a sheepish smile. "That would mean redoing all the character models and rewriting the story. It would take a lot of time and cost a fortune..."

He paused, searching for the right words. "But please believe me—I didn't do this on purpose. It's just a coincidence that the character's name and appearance resemble your sister."

He hesitated before offering an awkward solution. "How about this? I'll make sure your sister gets a big red envelope once the game launches. What do you think?"

Ji Zi smirked, crossing her arms. "And what about the rest of us? Are you only going to give Qiyana a bonus?"

Mo Li chuckled nervously. "Don't worry. Everyone will get a share."

Hearing this, Ji Zi nodded, satisfied. "In that case, I think it's fine. Qiyana gets to be an actress without lifting a finger—and she even gets paid for it. Seems like a win to me."

Bronya chimed in. "I don't mind either, as long as the plot doesn't paint me in a bad light or include anything... strange."

Mo Li nodded quickly. "Of course! This is a serious game. There won't be anything inappropriate, I promise."

"Anything else?" he asked, glancing around the room.

Rita raised her hand, her mischievous smile returning. "Since all the employees are making appearances in the game, shouldn't the boss also take part? It's only fair."

Mo Li hesitated, caught off guard. "Me...?"

"Of course," Rita said sweetly. "You should lead by example, don't you think?"

After a brief pause, Mo Li sighed. "Alright. I'll take on a role."

His mind raced as he considered the possibilities. Most of the game's characters were already established, leaving little room for a new addition. Then, inspiration struck.

"I'll play Otto," he declared, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.

The room went silent.

"You're serious?" Ji Zi asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Why not?" Mo Li shrugged. "Otto is one of the most infamous characters in the game. Players love to hate him. It'll be hilarious if I, the game's creator, embody the character everyone wants to punch."

The group burst into laughter, the tension in the room easing.

"Well, as long as you're okay with it," Youlan said with a smile.

Preparing for Launch

With the major concerns addressed, Mo Li turned back to the team.

"Alright, now that that's settled, let's move on to the next steps. Bronya, I'll need you to handle the server setup and maintenance. Everyone else, focus on planning the game's promotional campaign. I'll also assign voice acting roles to each of you shortly."

Although the game's voice lines were already included in the system-provided package, Mo Li decided to let the girls record new lines to keep them involved in the process.

"By the way, Ji Zi, I'll need you to help with a specific dubbing task. Come with me," he said, grabbing his laptop and heading toward the door.

Ji Zi exchanged a glance with the others before following him, a playful smirk on her lips.

In the Recording Studio

"Boss, are you sure you don't have any ulterior motives for asking me to come alone?" Ji Zi teased as they walked.

Mo Li rolled his eyes. "It's just a dubbing task. Don't overthink it."

Ji Zi sighed dramatically. "How disappointing."

Mo Li ignored her, leading her into the recording studio. As he set up the equipment, he glanced at Ji Zi, noticing how closely her personality matched the in-game character.

"What?" Ji Zi asked, catching him staring. She twirled a strand of her hair and smiled. "Have I caught your attention already?"

Mo Li shook his head, chuckling. "Stop messing around. Let's get to work."

For the next hour, Mo Li guided Ji Zi through the dubbing process, giving her tips and adjustments along the way. Her voice, rich and confident, fit the character perfectly.

A Comprehensive Marketing Plan

Once the voice recordings were underway, Mo Li shifted his focus to the studio's website. He redesigned it from the ground up, ensuring it reflected the high quality of Honkai III.

For the marketing campaign, Mo Li decided to target short video platforms and anime-focused websites. Since Honkai III was a game for young, tech-savvy audiences, these channels were the perfect way to generate buzz.

In addition to traditional advertising, Mo Li planned to release a series of promotional videos, including a cinematic trailer and gameplay showcases. These, too, were part of the system's package, but Mo Li worked with the team to fine-tune them for maximum impact.

Wrapping Up

By the end of the day, the studio was buzzing with activity. Tasks had been assigned, goals set, and the team was hard at work.

Mo Li leaned back in his chair, a satisfied smile on his face. Honkai III was finally taking shape, and he could already see the potential for success.

As the sun set, casting a warm glow over the office, Mo Li couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement.

This was just the beginning.
