Chapter 21: Chapter 21
Kamisato Ayato and Kamisato Ayaka respectfully waited for the shogun's instructions.
Originally, the two siblings thought that the General had cleaned up the corruption and abuses in Inazuma, leaving a large talent gap, and that they needed to take on the current responsibilities of Inazuma's administration.
However, after seeing the General pointing her finger on their foreheads, the two siblings were dumbfounded by the large amount of information that entered their minds.
*What?*
A plan to swallow another world? Details about the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba world? A plan to replace indigenous gods? A collection of modern Takamagahara myths and stories...
After passively digesting the knowledge in their minds, the two siblings came to their senses, their heads spinning.
As the current head of the Kamisato family, who had experienced great storms, Kamisato Ayato was the first to regain composure.
His heart nearly jumped out of his chest.
The high-ranking god of Sky Island had issued an order to the shogun, asking Inazuma to implement the plan to annex the Demon Slayer world.
But the General had chosen the two of them to be part of this plan.
Kamisato Ayato was shocked and doubtful at the same time.
*How could I be so trusted by the General to entrust this vital link for Teyvat to me?*
Raiden Ei looked at Kamisato Ayato, who had come back to his senses.
"Understood," she said.
"Understood, General..." Kamisato Ayato said solemnly, calming his erratic thoughts and secretly pinching his thigh to focus.
"This gate to the world is the passage to the Demon Slayer World. Now, you two siblings, along with Yae Miko, are responsible for executing the plan. Call me by my royal name, and I will temporarily lend you my divine power."
Raiden Ei pointed to the torii gate in front of the Sacred Sakura. The door of the torii seemed to be coated in a layer of light. Through that light, one could reach the other world.
"Hey~ This is the life of hard work~" Yae Miko sighed dramatically and looked at Kamisato Ayato. "Kamisato boy, if you have any questions, you'd better ask them now; otherwise, you won't have time later."
Kamisato Ayato took a deep breath. He knew that the shogun had given him such an important plan, and he had no right to refuse; otherwise, he would surely disappoint her.
The current power and influence of the Kamisato family were because he had a clear mind and followed the will of the shogun.
Kamisato Ayaka came back to her senses, patting her chest and looking at her brother.
"General, my first question is that, among Inazuma's three commissions, only the Yashiro Commission is still maintaining order. If I leave, there may be a power vacuum in Inazuma, which could lead to a breakdown in law enforcement."
"I have appointed Kokomi of the Sangonomiya Shrine as the temporary head of the Yashiro Commission, and the Tenryou Commission will be led by Sasae Sora," Raiden Ei said calmly.
"I feel a little bad for that girl," Yae Miko said with a hint of pity in her eyes. "I can already imagine how complex Inazuma's affairs will be. I'm afraid Kokomi won't have time to eat three meals a day."
"If Kokomi is in charge, then I am relieved," Kamisato Ayato sighed in relief. If Inazuma were thrown into chaos while he was on a mission, it would be a dereliction of duty for the Kamisato family.
He knew Kokomi was very capable. Few in Inazuma could match her in handling internal affairs.
"My second question is, why does Lord Shogun have to replace the God of Thunder in that world? You are the God of Thunder," Kamisato Ayato continued.
"This question..." Raiden Ei looked at Takumi, who was lazily lounging on a branch of the Sacred Sakura.
Kamisato Ayato and Kamisato Ayaka looked over. By now, they understood that this young man, who looked around their age, was a high-ranking god from Sky Island.
A god even more powerful than the General.
"It certainly isn't unnecessary," Takumi said, looking at Kamisato Ayato and lingering on Kamisato Ayaka. She truly had the pure and quiet demeanor of an egret.
"Every world has its own rules and logic, but one logic is universal: gods. Regardless of whether a god is strong or weak, they represent the authority of the world's administrator, just like Inazuma's three commissions."
"If the world were compared to the head of a household at a shrine, then the gods would be the officials of the shrine, managing the order of Inazuma."
"And replacing a god in a world is like replacing the manager."
"Once we assume that position, we can gradually encroach on power until we eventually take control."
"Of course, your task is just to take that position. The job of eroding the world's power is my responsibility."
Takumi plucked a leaf from the Sacred Sakura and smiled, seemingly relaxed.
For him, devouring a world's power wasn't something he did personally but rather a function of the system.
Raiden Ei's role was merely to act as the straw to insert into the Demon Slayer world.
"Understood, Lord God of Sky Island," Kamisato Ayato said respectfully. "General, I have no more questions."
"Then, let's discuss the roles we will play, Kamisato siblings and Princess Egret," Yae Miko said, shaking the Kagura Bell in her hand, producing a sweet and clear sound.
"My master is Yuken Narukami. The name Jianyu Thunder God was merely a misunderstanding that spread by word of mouth."
"And all the gods' names in that world are incorrect. No matter how much people pray, the gods will not respond, because their names are wrong. The gods cannot hear their voices."
"Our gods accidentally noticed the sins of the demons on the earth, so they sent us to cleanse the world of those sins."
Yae Miko smiled mischievously, glancing at Raiden Ei, who stood with her arms folded.
On missions, she could indulge in many interesting activities under the guise of Raiden Ei—just like in the novel "Traveling to a Different World and Becoming a Thunder General to Do Whatever You Want" published by the Yae Publishing House.
"I am the envoy of Lord Yuken Narukami, responsible for helping spread the knowledge of Teyvat—no, of Takamagahara—to the heroes of other worlds."
Kamisato Ayato didn't mind the apparent favoring of his sister over him by Yae Miko and replied with a smile, "Takamagahara is just a name passed down by people. Its true name is Teyvat."
"You're a fast learner," Yae Miko said, crossing her arms.
"Then I will also be a divine messenger, just like my brother," Kamisato Ayaka said, suppressing the excitement bubbling within her. To travel to another world and play the role of a divine messenger was incredibly exciting.
It felt as fantastic as the novels from the Yae Publishing House.
This was something she had never imagined doing.
She couldn't help but glance at the unfamiliar Sky Island God lounging on the Sacred Sakura, feeling grateful for what this god had given her.
The idea of annexing another world and making Teyvat a better place was thrilling.
"Ha~" Takumi sensed a hint of amusement in Kamisato Ayaka's emotions.
*Thank me? Kamisato Ayaka seems like a quiet, capable young lady, but deep down, she has a strong adventurous spirit and yearns for the life of an adventurer.*
"Then, let's leave now," Yae Miko said before stepping toward the torii gate.
"There's plenty of time. You can enjoy yourselves," Takumi said playfully.
In the world of Demon Slayer, even Muzan Kibutsuji's power level was equivalent to a strong Vision holder. He hadn't reached the level of an immortal.
Although the immortality of the Demon King and his cowardly nature were troublesome, this mission was more of a role-playing exercise for Inazuma's annexation.
"Thank you for your kind words, my mischievous god," Yae Miko said, rolling her eyes playfully now that she understood Takumi's temperament.
After her response, she walked into the torii gate.
Kamisato Ayato and Kamisato Ayaka were slightly surprised by the irreverent attitude of Yae Miko toward the Sky Island God, but they entered the torii gate without giving it much thought.
"Now, I need to prepare the Eye of God that aligns with the rules of that world," Takumi's pupils suddenly turned golden.
"After all, that world didn't have elemental power before it was annexed."
