Chapter 7: "Flight of the Chosen"
Mondstadt, next to the statue of Barbatos
"Spread your arms, keep your balance, and use your body to feel the direction of the wind."
Kennath crossed his arms and put away the gentle smile on his face. Now he was more like a serious mentor.
Lumine being smart only needed a short instruction to learn how to use the gliders. After a while, she could fly freely.
After landing from the sky again, Lumine showed a happy smile on her face, looked at Kennath, pursed her lips, and nodded at him.
"I have learned it, thank you"
"It's just a small matter, not worth mentioning. Kennath shook his head, "Besides, you are very talented and smart. Even without my teaching, i am sure that you can learn how to use the Wind gliders in a short time."
It's just that you may fall a few times.
"Even so, I still want to thank you." Lumine's eyes were sincere. "Since meeting you up to until now, you have helped me a lot. When I have Mora, I will treat you to a meal."
Eating is the best way to get closer to each other. Unfortunately, she has been wandering in the wild for a while and doesn't have any Mora.
"If you want Mora, I think you shoud try to become a member of the Adventurer's Guild."
Kennath looked towards the entrance of Mondstadt.
"The Adventurer's Guild is spread across the seven nations. Although it started from Snezhnaya, it's about making money, so don't worry too much."
"Adventurers Guild?"
"Well, they assign daily tasks to help clean up monsters in the wild, or help people find things, etc. It may be a bit annoying, but the income is not bad."
"So that's it..." Lumine thought, "I'll think about it."
The sky had turned completely gloomy. At this moment, several tornadoes were spinning wildly around the statue of Barbatos, as if they were going to suck everything around them in.
Unexpectedly, Lumine was blown into the air.
Kennath looked at Lumine flying up, but he was not so worried at the moment.
After all, she was a someone who travelled across the sea of stars. Lumine's combat experience and ability to adapt to changes were quite good. She immediately used the wind gliders which she had just learned to use, and flew up in the air with the help of the strong wind.
"Wait, this is..."
Lumine noticed that she could actually fly steadily in the air without landing or shaking.
What happened?
"I commanded the thousand-year-old winds to help you fly safely."
(i think that's what venti said idk though i kind of forgot it)
A voice that was hard to tell whether it was male or female sounded beside Lumine, and then, as if guiding her, it gathered energy around her.
"Do you see the blood clots on the dragon's back? Use your strength to break up the blood clots, and the dragon will temporarily return to normal."
"Blood clot?"
Lumine looked at Dvalin flying not far away. She immediately noticed a brightly colored blood clot on Dvalin's back.
"..."
Although she always felt that she was being used, this mysterious person was helping her be safe, so it would be okay to listen to him and break up the blood clots first.
Thinking of this, Lumine guided her Anemo elemental energy , turned it into bullets , and fired it at the blood clots on Dvalin's back.
On the ground, Kennath stood next to the statue of Barbatos, looking at Lumine in the sky who was guiding the anemo bullets, and his eyes were full of excitement.
"Yes, that's it...."
It was like a long-lost scene had come true before him. Perhaps only Players could understand Kennath's excitement right now.
"What is this?"
A somewhat cold voice sounded, and a red-haired man holding a prototype archaic sword walked out from the side, looking at Kennath with unfriendly eyes.
Kennath turned his head and glanced at him.
Diluc of Mondstadt,
He vaguely remembered that Diluc was his first five star character he got when he played the game long before he was transmigrated.
"Don't you think this scene is very mythical?"
Kennath knew Diluc's past. With Diluc's intelligence network, it was not difficult for him to know his identity and since he was an Harbinger of the Fatui, Diluc would never be nice to Kennath.
"Mythical?"
Diluc looked up and saw the golden girl firing anemo bullets in the strong wind, constantly hitting the blood clots on the back of the Wind Dragon.
As Kennath said, this scene was very mythical and suitable for being passed down as a story throughout future generations.
Perhaps after realizing that the rampage of Stromterror had nothing to do with Kennath, his tone softened a little. (Disclaimer : Only a tiny LITTLE bit)
"The [Sage] Stellius, is there any connection between the rampage of Stromterror and the Fatui?"
"Don't always put all the blame on the Fatui, Mr. Diluc."
Kennath looked at Lumine's heroic figure and said without turning his head.
"Many things about the fatui's good deeds can actually be found in older books. It's just that people are unwilling to look through history and don't remember history, so when the heroes return, they don't get the treatment they deserve. In addition, there are small schemes by people with evil intentions... Forget it, it's not good to say too much."
The battle in the sky is about to end. The blood clot on Dvalin's back has been almost cleared. It roared and flapped its wings. The tornado in Mondstadt began to gradually disappear, and it flew towards the direction of the four winds temple ruins.
As Dvalin left, Lumine also stopped her movements. The wind that helped her fly was gradually dissipating. She slowly descended with the help of the wind gliders behind her, and finally landed in front of Kennath.
"Welcome back." Kennath looked at her and chuckled, "Are you okay?"
"No." Lumine shook her head. "It's just that this feeling is a bit strange. Just now a mysterious person helped me fly."
"Hmm...it might be Barbatos, the god of freedom and wind. After all, few people in Mondstadt have such power."
"God of Freedom..."
Lumine frowned and was about to say something when she was interrupted by a round of applause.
"You actually have the power to fight a dragon... Are you an ally, or a new storm?"
The cavalry captain clapped his hands and came in front of the two. He looked meaningfully at Diluc nearby, and then looked at the two.
"If you don't mind, please come with us to the Knights of Favonius. Our acting grandmaster wants to meet you both."
"Including me?"
Kennath looked at Kaeya, with an indescribable color in his eyes.
"Yes, Mr. Sage."
Because of the strong wind just now, Paimon briefly entered Lumine's vision space and now that the strong wind has dissipated, she reappeared in the form of starlight.
(in lore it is described that Paimon can disappear out of existence when the traveler fights and in the game Paimon is not there visibly when we fight Dvalin but she is talking to us from somewhere so i made it up that she goes into Lumine's vision space and its not lore accurate ok?)
"Acting Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonius?"
Lumine looked at Kennath.
She had already started to consider Kennath's opinion.
"Go ahead." Kennath nodded slightly, "You just helped Mondstadt drive away the invading dragon. They won't do anything bad to you."
