Genshin Impact: I spread the Pokemon to Teyvat

Chapter 63: Chapter 63

"Who am I?"

Tepig!

A small Pokémon resembling a fragrant pig appeared on the screen. Its body was mostly red and black, with a tail that curled like a spring.

Fischl's eyes sparkled with excitement, and she exclaimed, "Oh, it's so cute! So adorable!"

Nightcrow Oz, seeing how thrilled little Amy was, felt a pang in his heart and muttered:

"Little Amy, on the night of your fourteenth birthday, you weren't nearly as excited to meet me…"

Oz felt rather neglected, and now he was just a sad bird of the Evernight.

Fischl scoffed in response.

Takumi added, "Well, good luck! Tepig here is one of the three starter Pokémon from the Unova region."

Fischl happily handed over her payment for Tepig.

Other Adventurers' Association members drew Pokémon as well, with some luck drawing Pokémon like Shinx, Electabuzz, and Cubchoo. Although none drew any starter Pokémon, the creatures they obtained had good potential for growth and combat strength, satisfying these adventurers.

After farewells and seeing everyone out, Takumi felt slightly overwhelmed by the large turnover of customers from the Knights of Favonius and now the Adventurers' Association.

"Looks like everyone in Mondstadt will have a Pokédex by the time I head back to Liyue," Takumi mused, thinking of all the Mondstadt citizens who still hadn't received their initial Pokémon, such as Mona, and Diona.

Just as Takumi was about to reenter the store, he heard a rumbling sound coming from the corner nearby. Smiling knowingly, he called out, "Come on out."

A small figure stepped shyly from the shadows. She wore a large, pointed wizard's hat adorned with starry patterns. Her attire was notably… economical, fitting her well-known financial struggles.

"Ah, Mona," Takumi thought with a grin. "Of course, she'd be the next one to show up."

Clearing her throat, Mona tried to cover the noise of her grumbling stomach.

Takumi chuckled. "Today, Miss Mona also appears to be a bit worried about her Mora supply."

Mona's face flushed red, a mix of embarrassment and frustration. She glanced away, feigning calmness but clearly feeling self-conscious.

Takumi, noticing her discomfort, suggested, "How about a reading? A divination, perhaps?"

Mona's expression immediately became serious as she returned to her field of expertise.

"Just so you know," she began, "my hydromancy reveals only the truth of destiny. I won't be modifying anything you may or may not like."

"Understood," Takumi replied, welcoming her into the store.

As she stepped inside, the tantalizing smell of food wafted from the back. Mona's focus on her craft faltered as her hunger took over.

"Right now… I'm not exactly at full power," Mona admitted sheepishly, her stomach growling thunderously in protest.

Takumi offered her a seat and extended a dinner invitation, "So, great astrologer Mona Megistus, would you care to join me for a meal?"

Thirty minutes later, a very full Mona leaned back in her chair, her previously rumbling stomach now quiet. Her once-taut posture gave way to blissful relaxation.

Having just arrived in Mondstadt, Mona had been saving every last Mora from her meager astrology royalties. She had initially been watching Takumi's Pokémon shop from afar, intrigued by the widespread buzz she'd heard around town. People were discussing powerful Pokémon and comparing the potential strength of eula Shiny Charizard and Klee's Hydreigon.

Feeling fate pulling her toward this mysterious new phenomenon, Mona's curiosity led her to investigate further.

"That's a Pokémon?" Mona asked, watching Takumi from her seat.

In the living room, Meloetta held the TV remote, captivated by a singing competition. Next to Takumi, Jirachi lay on his lap, resembling a plush toy.

"Excuse me," came a gentle voice in Mona's mind. Cresselia floated out from the kitchen, telekinetically clearing the dining table.

Mona gawked as the tableware flew into the sink and the chairs returned to their original positions, all under Cresselia's psychic control.

Takumi looked over from the sofa and asked, "Ready for that reading?"

"Yes!" Mona nodded, regaining her composure. She began to gather water elements, forming a smooth mirror on the floor of the living room.

A blurry image began to form.

What is that? Busy streets and tall buildings? Where could this be?

Then, in a sudden shift, the scene turned dark and cataclysmic. Volcanoes erupted, molten lava spewed across the landscape, tectonic plates shattered, and vast tsunamis surged as two colossal ancient beasts clashed.

Mona's face was drenched in sweat, her expression fearful. "What… what am I seeing? A vision of world destruction?"

The overwhelming visions became so realistic that she could almost smell the sulfur and hear the roar of the ocean. She quickly ended the reading, shattering the watery image.

Takumi was intrigued. Mona's hydromancy could perceive the fates of most beings, yet here it had glimpsed something as if drawn from another reality.

"Interesting…" Takumi mused.

He recalled that Mona's readings often revealed the core of her subjects. For instance, she had seen that Klee's fate held a lucky four-leaf clover symbol and that Jean's represented strength and responsibility. However, she had failed to read Paimon's fate, and here with Takumi, the illusion had nearly breached the boundary between divination and reality.

After she calmed down, Takumi handed her a blank Pokédex. "How about giving this a try? Let's see what Pokémon you'll draw."

Mona was taken aback. She knew the Pokédex had become a coveted tool among the Knights of Favonius and the Adventurers' Association, and she longed to try it.

But her face fell. She had overheard around town that initial Pokémon cost one to two million Mora each… and she could barely afford her basic equipment and room fees.

She mumbled, "I, uh… live simply. Training and studying hard to understand the truth of the world…"

In other words, she was broke.

Takumi hid his amusement, already aware of Mona's chronic financial struggles. She wasn't just poor—she was, as he thought, extraordinarily poor.

"Hmm… I see," he said. "Considering your financial situation, you wouldn't be able to afford the food or growth supplements required to raise a Pokémon properly."

Mona's face turned even paler.

Her divination had revealed that, among the Knights and the Adventurers' Association, Pokémon were becoming symbols of potential and opportunity in a future era. How could she miss her chance to be part of that?

For someone with Mona's abilities to glimpse destiny, it was unbearable to be excluded from such a transformative era.

Summing up her desperation, she resolved, I, Astrologist Mona Megistus, must board this train, no matter the cost!

Takumi smiled, seeing the resolve in her eyes.

"Well then," he offered, "I'll cover the cost for you. Consider it a loan, with your expenses for raising the Pokémon also counted as credit."

"So… how about becoming the manager of the Mondstadt branch of Pokémon House and working to pay off the debt?"

Mona's eyes widened in surprise, turning from despair to disbelief.

Becoming manager of the Pokémon House branch in Mondstadt? It was practically her dream job! Here, she'd not only be at the forefront of this new era but also have access to Pokémon knowledge for her studies. And Takumi even planned to clear out a large storeroom for her research work.

Overwhelmed, Mona murmured, "Is this… a gift of fate for following destiny?"
