Genshin Impact: I'm a Slime

Chapter 21: Chapter 21

A faint golden light began to seep out of the Vision.

Famas held Diluc's Vision in one hand and the Holy Lyre der Himmel in the other. Flames and rising heat started to envelop Famas, blocking him from the outside view.

"Done."

Without keeping everyone waiting too long, the flames surrounding Famas gradually dissipated after a few minutes, revealing a Holy Lyre der Himmel now infused with intense Pyro energy.

"Hiss… this… can this really be used?"

Feeling the overwhelming Pyro energy emanating from the lyre, Venti's brows furrowed tightly.

"This doesn't look like the Holy Lyre der Himmel anymore. It's more like… a Flaming Lyre?"

Venti couldn't help but want to stop Famas, who was still pouring Pyro energy into the lyre.

"It's fixed."

Finally, when Venti saw the entire lyre turn a fiery red, Famas stopped infusing it with Pyro energy and handed the Vision back to Diluc behind the bar.

Of course, the divine power within the Vision had already been drained by Famas.

"Hot, hot, hot…"

Venti caught the Holy Lyre der Himmel that Famas tossed to him, but the moment he touched it, the intense heat made him instinctively let go.

Acting Grand Master Jean immediately drew the short sword at her waist and used the flat side of the blade to catch the lyre before it hit the ground.

Everyone stared at the blazing lyre, then turned their eyes to Famas, who looked completely unbothered.

"Just play a tune, and the Pyro energy will be released."

Famas looked at the confused group. "I didn't change its fundamental nature. It's still a lyre of the wind."

After hearing Famas' explanation, everyone exchanged glances, then turned their attention to Venti, who was still waving his hands frantically.

"I think I'll pass. I'd like to keep my hands intact. I still need them to make a living, you know?"

Feeling everyone's gaze, Venti quickly waved his hands in refusal, then tucked them into his chest, shaking his head vigorously.

"So now… we have a Holy Lyre der Himmel that can't be played?"

Jean carefully moved the lyre from her sword to the bar counter.

"Hmm…"

Venti glanced at Famas, then at his beloved lyre. With a sudden *snap*, he grabbed the lyre and unleashed a flurry of notes at Famas!

The intense Anemo and Pyro elements triggered a Swirl reaction, rushing toward Famas. But the slime-like Famas didn't even flinch, as if an invisible voice echoed.

"Immune, immune…"

After Venti's strumming, the Pyro energy on the lyre almost completely dissipated, and a faint cyan glow lit up. The surrounding Anemo energy seemed to grow restless.

"Whew, that should do it…"

Venti let out a sigh of relief, his fingers red and trembling from holding the lyre.

"Only when the weapon acknowledges you can you unleash its full power."

Famas spoke with a seemingly helpless tone, but there was a hint of concern in his eyes that was hard to notice.

"Success!"

Venti seemed to catch the emotion in Famas' eyes and suddenly broke into a cheerful smile. "The Anemo energy… it's overflowing with liveliness now. This should work."

"Thanks to you, Famas."

Paimon floated around Venti in a circle.

"It feels completely different from before."

Venti smiled softly, and the Holy Lyre der Himmel vanished from his hands.

"Next, we need to find a place to summon Dvalin and heal him."

Paimon landed on Venti's shoulder and asked curiously, "Where should we go? Can't we do it in Mondstadt?"

"It would scare the citizens of Mondstadt."

Venti explained to Paimon, "Dvalin just attacked Mondstadt not long ago. Summoning him here would only deepen the misunderstanding people have about him."

"What kind of location are we looking for?" Diluc asked, his tone calm. "It's better to resolve this sooner rather than later. If we delay, the Abyss Order and the Fatui might make their move."

"Right."

Jean nodded in agreement. "While you were retrieving the Holy Lyre der Himmel, the Fatui approached me."

"Seems like that person's personality has changed quite a bit."

Venti rubbed his chin, smiling wryly.

"That person?"

Paimon asked curiously.

Venti didn't answer but instead nodded toward Famas.

"The Tsaritsa?"

Famas knew who Venti was referring to, but he wasn't familiar with the Cryo Archon of distant Snezhnaya. Especially given Natlan's affinity for Pyro, even during Famas' time as a god, trade and diplomatic relations between Natlan and Snezhnaya were minimal.

"Pinky promise, don't you lie, or I'll throw you to the glaciers, where it's cold, the snowfields are harsh, and liars' tongues freeze and shatter…"

Famas couldn't help but hum this Snezhnayan-style nursery rhyme, his words mumbled in ancient elvish. Everyone thought Famas was just babbling in slime language again, but Venti secretly glanced at him.

"Is Famas upset that I tricked him into taking Amber's Vision?"

"Should I apologize to Amber?"

Thinking this, Venti shook his head.

"No, no, I need to find another way to make it up to Amber. I am the Anemo Archon, after all."

Venti made up his mind.

"Sea breezes or winds from high places can carry a bard's song farther. If the air is dry, stifling, and oppressive, not only bards but even dragons would get angry."

Venti took a big gulp of the apple cider he'd sneakily acquired and addressed the group, who were still deep in thought.

"I see. Sea breezes or winds from high places, huh? So, the best place to play would be…?"

Paimon looked at Lumine, who hadn't chimed in yet.

"A cliff by the sea?"

Lumine asked tentatively.

"East of Starfell Lake, following the mountain range, there's a place called Starsnatch Cliff. Venti, the sea breeze and high winds you're looking for should be there, right?"

Diluc offered his suggestion, then looked at Venti.

"Hmm, let me think… Starsnatch Cliff, huh? That does sound like a perfect spot. A place worthy of my songs."

"Good. Then let's prepare and meet at Starsnatch Cliff tomorrow morning. Please take this seriously and don't be late."

Jean nodded, making the final decision.

"Understood, Acting Grand Master!"

Paimon spun in the air and nodded vigorously.

"But you two, stay right there!"

Just as everyone was about to disperse to prepare for the next day, Jean grabbed Venti by the collar with her left hand and caught Famas, who had just leaped into the air, with her right.

"You two, come with me to apologize to Amber!"
